Welcome to Lincolnway City Lifestyle
Welcome to our inaugural edition of Lincolnway City Lifestyle! I'm excited that our launch month happens to be themed "Investment". Investment by definition is the act of devoting time, effort, energy or finances to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result. We can invest in a lot of things such as our community, our finances, our relationships, and our health with the hope that the effort will have a positive impact. We can invest in our community by supporting our local businesses, schools and local organizations. We can serve the community through volunteerism and supporting our future generations. Investing in our finances helps create wealth, meets long term financial goals and secures our retirement. On a personal level, we can invest in our families and enrich relationships by giving time and effort to the people in our lives that mean the most to us. This type of investment has the most meaningful impact to not only ourselves but to the people closest to us. Finally, investing in our health allows us the chance to make all of the other investments happen.
The definition, as described, highlights my "why" in creating Lincolnway City Lifestyle. The opportunity to invest my time, energy and finances into telling the story of the connective tissue that makes Frankfort, Mokena and New Lenox, affectionately referred to as Lincolnway, one of the premier places to live and work in the Chicagoland area. As a born and raised southwest side girl, I identify with the growth and change this suburban geography has realized over the years. With eight of my ten grandchildren living in this area, I know they will have a bright future here. Lincolnway is primed for an amazing time ahead. I just want to help tell the story.
In this issue, we wanted to share some of the ways that we can invest in our community, our finances and ourselves. Enjoy our stories and meeting our Founding Partners who believe in what I am doing and want to help shape the future for Lincolnway.

JANET’S GO-TO SPOTS IN LINCOLNWAY
ROOTED IN Lincolnway
Where Strong Roots Lead to Brighter Futures
Annelle and Al Paschal walk their dog, Lola, at Marian Village
When people talk about Lincolnway, they often highlight its strong sense of community, thriving small businesses, and deep historical roots. But what truly sets it apart is the people behind these businesses—those who invest their time, talent, and passion into making Lincolnway a place where families, entrepreneurs, and creatives can prosper.
We asked local business owners why they chose Lincolnway as their home base and how they’ve seen the area evolve. Their answers all shared a common theme: Lincolnway isn’t just a place to do business—it’s a place to belong.
A THRIVING ARTS AND RECREATION SCENE
Lincolnway is a vibrant hub for arts, culture, and recreation, where creativity and active lifestyles thrive. Institutions like Ballet 5:8, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Momentum Dance Studio, and Attack Volleyball Club offer diverse opportunities for artistic expression and physical activity. The community deeply values the arts, with residents supporting performances and classes ranging from ballet and dance to live orchestral music.
COMMITMENT TO HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Health and wellness are integral to Lincolnway’s identity. Businesses like Ancient Roots Acupuncture, Smith Crossing, Rebuilt Strength + Rehab, Associated Orthodontists, and Right Choice Home Care offer services ranging from rehabilitation to holistic therapies. Marian Village, Right Choice Home Care, and Smith Crossing provide senior care, while fitness and recovery services continue to grow to meet the community’s expanding needs.
Dr. Richmond from Rebuilt Strength + Rehab has witnessed the community’s focus on well-being driving business growth: “Lincolnway has an incredible sense of community—people truly support local businesses. That trust and loyalty have been key to our success.” The area's expansion in athletic performance training and rehab speaks to its residents’ dedication to health.
Dr. Mansell of Chez Therese Specialty Therapies highlights Lincolnway’s proactive approach to wellness: “Our community is forward-thinking. We offer services ranging from oncology care to concussion testing and a ‘push clinic’ for expectant mothers, ensuring families have access to vital resources.”
Businesses like Glimpse Med Spa, Body Fountain, and Images Med Spa further enhance well-being by offering services that help

residents look and feel their best. These businesses not only focus on personal health but also create a sense of belonging by connecting with the community on a deeper level. Krystal Wilson, owner of Body Fountain, emphasizes her role in the community: “We’ve hosted special needs days, providing treatments in a welcoming environment. We also give local students work experience. Being able to give back is incredibly rewarding!”
A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR BUSINESS
Lincolnway is a place where businesses don’t just survive—they flourish. Companies like Alexa Group of Re/Max 10, Dowling Financial, McGarry Consulting Group, and Jean Lachat Photography have found success by building strong relationships within the community.
Peggy Alexa of Re/Max 10 highlights the advantage of working locally: “Being part of this community allows me to truly understand its heartbeat—the schools, businesses, and neighborhoods. It helps me connect families with the perfect home, not just a house.”
For business owners, trust and collaboration are invaluable. Entrepreneurs, like those at Menard Automotive, are deeply involved in local events. “We love participating in Christmas in the Commons and Small Business Week. Supporting local sports teams and meeting other business owners strengthens our ties to the community.”
HOME AND LIFESTYLE AT ITS BEST
Lincolnway is also a growing hub for elevated living and home improvement. Businesses like Aqua Pools, Mitchell Construction Custom Decks, Cynthia's Cleaning Services, and Interiors by Diane

DeCero help residents enhance their homes, while Menard Automotive keeps the community moving.
Stacey Mitchell of Mitchell Construction Custom Decks speaks to the deep connections formed through local businesses: “We make it a priority to stay involved—volunteering at school events, sponsoring youth sports, and participating in Frankfort Fall Fest. Living and working here creates a full-circle experience where personal and professional life blend seamlessly.”
As new developments continue, businesses are flourishing alongside them. The blend of small-town charm and modern growth makes Lincolnway an ideal place for businesses and families alike.
A COMMUNITY THAT CELEBRATES
More than just a place to work and live, Lincolnway is where people come together to celebrate life’s moments. Whether it’s a milestone event or a simple gathering with friends, businesses like LGM Party & Events and Enrico’s provide the perfect setting. And if you’re looking for a tangible way to commemorate an event, Songs From The Heart crafts and records heartfelt, personalized songs, capturing the spirit and essence of each unique occasion.
Harry D'ercole, owner of Enrico’s, has seen Lincolnway evolve firsthand: “The community has invested in keeping standards high for both residential and commercial growth. It’s exciting to see how things will continue to develop. The support we’ve received over 50 years is what has allowed us to stay in business, and we’ve given back in return—providing jobs, volunteering, and contributing to local initiatives.”
This spirit of mutual support is what keeps Lincolnway strong. Whether through business sponsorships, local charity efforts, or simply dining and shopping locally, every resident plays a role in shaping the community’s future.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Lincolnway continues to grow, its heart remains unchanged. It’s a place where businesses and families support one another, where creativity and innovation thrive, and where strong roots lead to even brighter futures.

YOUR GREENS
Boost your health by adding a generous serving of fresh greens to your daily diet. While both cooked and raw vegetables offer health benefits, consuming them raw often provides the most nutrients. Raw greens are rich in fiber, antioxidants, and essential vitamins, helping to lower inflammation and reduce the risk of disease.
DANDELION GREENS:
Dandelion greens are a nutritious and easy addition to any meal, perfect for salads or cooked dishes. They are rich in vitamins A, C, K, chlorophyll, and fiber, making them a great choice for digestion and overall health. Their light flavor and texture enhance salads and sandwiches.
BROCCOLI:
Broccoli is often hailed as a nutritional powerhouse, packed with a variety of vitamins and minerals that support overall health. Known for being high in vitamins A, C, and K, it also contains important minerals like potassium, iron, and calcium. In addition, it’s a rich source of beta-carotene, flavonoids, and fiber. Whether raw or cooked, broccoli is an excellent choice for immune system support, making it one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables available.
BRUSSELS SPROUTS:
Brussels sprouts are a highly nutritious cruciferous vegetable, known for their vitamin C, K, and folate content, as well as carotenoids and fiber. These vegetables can be shaved, sliced, sautéed, boiled, or grilled, offering a range of flavors from mild to bitter, depending on preparation.
KALE:
Kale is loaded with essential nutrients such as vitamins C, B6, E, K, and manganese. It contains twice as much selenium as spinach and is an excellent source of calcium. Kale’s unique properties help bind to cholesterol and lower oxalate levels, which promotes calcium absorption and makes it suitable for those prone to kidney stones. Additionally, it provides eye health benefits, thanks to lutein, and its disease-fighting properties make it a great addition to salads, smoothies, and more.
ARTICHOKES:
Artichokes are not only delicious but also packed with fiber, which aids in digestion. They are a great source of plant protein, potassium, and antioxidants like polyphenols. Artichokes also provide essential nutrients, including vitamins C, K, folate, magnesium, and B vitamins.
ASPARAGUS:
Asparagus is versatile and can be enjoyed grilled, sautéed, baked, or even raw. Packed with vitamins C, E, B, K, folate, and copper, it’s a great source of fiber. It also helps lower cholesterol and provides a variety of antioxidants that aid in healing. Asparagus is a perfect side dish that complements both light and robustly flavored meals.
SPINACH:
Spinach is a popular green known for its mild flavor and impressive nutritional profile. Rich in vitamins A, C, K, as well as magnesium, potassium, and iron, spinach is great for overall health. It also provides antioxidants that support eye health and includes calcium for stronger bones. However, because spinach has a higher oxalate content, it should be consumed in moderation by those with a history of kidney stones.

The Power of Self-Care
Investing in Yourself with Ali Tamashiro
In today’s fast-paced world, self-care is more than a luxury—it’s a vital investment in overall well-being. Ali Tamashiro, Director of Marketing at Images Med Spa, explains how personalized, results-driven treatments not only enhance natural beauty but also boost confidence and long-term health. By making self-care a priority, you lay the foundation for lasting health and vitality.
At Images Med Spa, the focus is on tailoring aesthetic treatments to meet each client’s unique needs. “We take a consultative approach to understand each client’s goals, concerns, and skin type,” Tamashiro explains. Through detailed consultations—including skin assessments and lifestyle evaluations— the team designs customized plans addressing both immediate improvements and lasting skin health.
Some of the most popular treatments currently offered include Botox, Semaglutide, MOXI laser, and Sculptra. Botox remains a top choice for reducing fine lines and wrinkles with minimal downtime, making it ideal for those with busy schedules. Semaglutide supports sustainable weight loss by regulating appetite, while the MOXI laser effectively treats sun damage and pigmentation issues with a gentle touch. Sculptra gradually stimulates collagen production to restore facial volume naturally. These non-surgical solutions provide visible results without the extensive recovery time associated with invasive procedures.
ARTICLE BY NICOLE WRIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY BY IMAGES MED SPA
Self-care, as Tamashiro notes, is not merely about aesthetics—it is an investment in one’s confidence and overall vitality. “Taking care of your skin is as essential as eating well or exercising,” she remarks. For those new to med spa treatments, starting with conservative options like Botox for wrinkle prevention or a custom facial for skin rejuvenation can pave the way for long-term benefits. Early intervention can prevent premature aging, improve skin texture, and support lasting health.
Understanding that skin evolves over time, Images Med Spa offers a “Treatment by Decade” guide to tailor services to various life stages. In the 20s, preventative treatments such as light chemical peels and HydraFacials help maintain healthy skin. In the 30s, early signs of aging can be addressed with treatments like Botox and skin tightening. For clients in their 40s and 50s, more advanced procedures—such as radiofrequency skin tightening, fractional laser resurfacing, and Sculptra—are recommended to
Ali Tamashiro, Director of Marketing at Images Med Spa
restore volume and smooth wrinkles. In the 60s and beyond, the focus shifts to maintaining skin vitality through procedures like laser resurfacing and dermal fillers.
Tamashiro also dispels common misconceptions about anti-aging treatments. When performed by skilled professionals, these procedures enhance natural features without resulting in an artificial or “frozen” look. Increasingly, even younger clients opt for preventive treatments to maintain a fresh, youthful appearance as they age.
Beyond traditional skincare, Images Med Spa also offers wellness services such as IV therapy and B12 injections. These treatments work from the inside out, hydrating and detoxifying while boosting energy levels and overall health. This holistic
approach complements aesthetic procedures and ensures that clients not only look good but feel revitalized.
The spa’s inclusive environment welcomes both men and women. An increasing number of male clients are turning to treatments like Botox, HydraFacials, and PRP/PRFM for hair restoration. “Our goal is to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental setting where everyone can invest in themselves,” Tamashiro concludes.
Ultimately, prioritizing self-care and choosing to nurture your skin transforms how you live, building lasting confidence. Images Med Spa is committed to guiding each client on this journey, ensuring every treatment enhances natural beauty and supports long-term well-being.
This holistic approach not only improves appearance but also elevates your inner strength and energy, making self-care a truly valuable investment in yourself. Embrace opportunity for renewal and growth, and experience the transformative power of consistent self-care.

The Income Tax Cocktail likely popped up during the Prohibition party scene of the 1920s. Its exact origin story remains a bit blurry, but it was definitely a hit in speakeasies. The name? Well, it's like a cheeky nod to the idea that sipping on this cocktail might be more fun than paying actual taxes! Made with gin, sweet vermouth, orange juice, and a dash of bitters, it's like a boozy adventure for your taste buds, with hints of citrus and herbs. Despite its vintage roots, the Income Tax Cocktail still brings the party vibes, transporting you back to the roaring '20s.
