Making your Faith Bigger Than Your Fears

Wow, it's hard to believe that it has already been one whole year since we all began this journey together. I am forever blown away by all of the wonderful business owners, organizations, and humans in our surrounding communities that are committed to making the world and their cities better places to live. Thank you for letting us discover and share the voices of our communities with you, it's a genuine honor and one that never gets lost on us.

The Health & Wellness issue is one of my favorites to put together for you every year for a number a of reasons. There are SO many amazing humans dedicated to helping improve the lives of others and they have such impactful stories that hold a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to offer so many. We are grateful that we are able to share those stories with you, in hopes that we can help them reach and touch even more lives.

As we begin this new year together, I pray that you don't make lofty unattainable goals as resolutions but rather choose to take care of yourself and chase what sets your soul on fire. We forget that sometimes it's the small repetitive choices that over time have the greatest impact. My mom always told me that a "one action, one step, one day at a time" approach will create more change than you know. Make the choice for you and watch that discipline compound onto itself and build something incredible that you are thankful for.

May your faith always be bigger than your fears!

SOURCE STUDIO chiropractic

Where Healing Meets Innovation To Naturally Restore Optimal Wellness

ARTICLE BY DESIREE GUSTAFSON | PHOTOGRAPHY BY DANA MARTIN CREATIVE
Owner & Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Amanda Kellogg-Enriquez

Nestled along the heart of lake Loveland, Source Studio Chiropractic stands as a place of healing, empowerment, and transformative care. Led by the dedicated Dr. Ryan J. Enriquez, DC, and his wife Amanda, their clinic offers more than just traditional chiropractic services. Through their innovative approaches and integrated therapies, they have become a beacon of hope for individuals seeking relief from chronic pain, injury recovery, and overall wellness.

At Source Studio Chiropractic, the core mission is clear: to provide holistic care that not only addresses symptoms but also promotes the body’s natural ability to heal. Whether it’s improving mobility, alleviating pain, or enhancing overall vitality, the team at Source Studio is focused on treating the root causes of discomfort, rather than just masking the symptoms. Their ability to combine time-tested chiropractic techniques with modern technological advancements is a testament to their commitment in offering the best care possible for every patient.

The Enriquez team is committed to seeing each patient as an individual with unique needs, and they take the time to listen, understand, and assess their health concerns. Instead of focusing on symptoms alone, Amanda and Ryan look at the whole body from a biomechanical and functional standpoint to properly diagnose and stop the repetitive injury cycle. This personalized care approach is at the heart of what makes Source Studio Chiropractic such a special place. By creating a treatment plan tailored specifically to each person’s condition, goals, and lifestyle, the team here ensures that their patients receive the most effective care possible and work on healing them from the inside out.

One of the standout aspects of the Enriquez’s practice is their openness to integrating modern technologies alongside traditional chiropractic methods mixed with ancient traditions such as yoga, massage, and acupuncture. It is this willingness to innovate that has allowed them to introduce SoftWave Therapy—a game-changing treatment that is helping many patients achieve faster and more lasting results.

WHAT IS SOFTWAVE THERAPY?

SoftWave Therapy is a non-invasive, high-energy extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) that uses acoustic waves to promote healing at the cellular level. The therapy targets areas of the body that are experiencing pain or dysfunction, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments. These shockwaves stimulate blood flow, accelerate tissue

repair, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain by encouraging the body’s natural regenerative processes.

Unlike traditional forms of therapy, SoftWave Therapy does not involve any drugs or invasive procedures. Instead, it harnesses the power of sound waves to help the body heal itself. This makes it an excellent treatment option for patients dealing with chronic pain, sports injuries, tendonitis, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.

The technology works by delivering controlled, therapeutic acoustic pulses into the affected tissue. These waves promote the regeneration of damaged cells and stimulate the release of growth factors, encouraging faster recovery and improved mobility. One of the key benefits of SoftWave Therapy is its ability to target deeper tissue layers without causing harm to surrounding areas, making it both effective and safe for a wide range of conditions.

While chiropractic care focuses on spinal adjustments to ensure optimal alignment and nervous system function, SoftWave Therapy works to enhance the body’s ability to heal at the cellular level. When used together, these therapies provide a powerful, synergistic effect that helps patients experience faster recovery, reduced pain, and improved overall function.

For patients who come to Source Studio Chiropractic with injuries or chronic conditions that haven’t responded to traditional chiropractic adjustments or other treatment methods, SoftWave Therapy offers a new avenue of healing. They use SoftWave Therapy to address issues that may be beyond the scope of chiropractic care, such as tendonitis, muscle strains, and soft tissue injuries.

SOURCE STUDIO CHIROPRACTIC

In order to bring more holistic, meaningful change to our patients we want to solve three problems; lack of time for self-improvement, western medicine not providing enough preventative measures, and the disconnection from the use of technology. By bringing more collaboration and complementary services under one roof we can conquer all three problems to bring real, lasting positive change to our patients and this world!

“We believe in providing true connection, community, healing & love to our patients”

By combining these two therapies, the Enriquez team ensures that patients receive comprehensive treatment for both the structure and function of their bodies.

Moreover, SoftWave Therapy is particularly effective for those who may be unable to tolerate more invasive treatments like surgery or injections. It’s a non-invasive, drug-free alternative that can provide significant relief without the risks or downtime associated with more traditional options.

Source Studio’s decision to incorporate SoftWave Therapy into their practice is part of their overarching philosophy of treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. They believe that true healing happens when the body is in balance—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and they’re dedicated to providing a comprehensive approach to health that incorporates every aspect of a person’s well-being. Here patients don’t just receive treatments; they are educated and empowered to dive deeper and take control of their health. Offering numerous modalities and options for healing, they really dive into the reasoning behind each therapy and how it will contribute to their patient’s overall recovery and wellness. This transparent communication fosters trust and helps patients feel involved in their healing journey. Whether it’s SoftWave Therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massage, yoga, acupuncture or lifestyle recommendations, the treatment plan is always centered on the individual’s needs and goals. They have crafted and hand selected an amazing staff and team specializing in all types of treatment therapy to offer multiple treatment options for their patients.

The clinic is not only focused on alleviating pain but also on helping patients maintain long-term health and overall wellness. They know that the mental wellbeing and health of their patients is also crucial to their healing, and they work to try and address all underlying causes of pain and dysfunction, to help ensure that patients can enjoy a higher quality of life—free from the limitations of chronic pain or injury. Amanda’s vision for Source Studio is to become a healing center for all, where mind, body, and spirit are treated as one from the inside out. For Amanda, Ryan, and their team, helping others heal is not just a profession—it’s a calling.

4 Simple Habits That Will Improve Your Mental Health

BY MIKE ENSLEY OF COMEBACK STORY COUNSELING PHOTOGRAPHY BY MIKE ENSLEY

Every positive change happens incrementally. Here are 4 ways to nudge yourself in the right direction for better mental health through 2025.

1. Be intentional at the mirror. Ever notice what you do in the mirror? A lot of people ignore their reflection, or they scrutinize and judge. What a way to start off: rejected.  Treat your reflection as someone who needs your support and encouragement.

2. Stop giving yourself jobs you can’t do. Stressing about what you can’t control is burning you out. Honestly assessing our capacity is scary but liberating. Make a list of what you don’t get to decide. Here’s a start: others’ choices, how others interpret you, the economy... Take energy back from what you can’t choose.

3. Pace your ongoing projects . You’re giving all of today’s energy to work that won’t be done today. This is how we chase that elusive feeling of being “enough”—or how we hide from other parts of life. Get used to pressing “pause” in an uncomfortable place.

4. Prioritize relationships. Stop leaving community for last.

Meaningful connection improves outcomes in all aspects of life. The people who bring out the best in you—make time for them. Stop saying  “There’s something more productive I could be doing”. That excuse will always be there. For a more in depth dive, make sure to check out Come Back Story Counseling's Blog!

RAISING THE BAR on wellness

WHAT SETS ALLURA APART
ARTICLE BY DESIREE GUSTAFSON
PHOTOGRAPHY BY MONICA JEAN PHOTOGRAPHY

“Helping you find your confidence.” A statement that is simple, to the point, and for the staff of Allura Skin, Laser, & Wellness Clinic, is at the very core of who they are.

Not only is Allura a nationally ranked medical spa in treatments like Botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, and more, but it also has deep roots in the wellness space. In addition to Semaglutide and hCG weight loss programs, female corrective treatments, and B12 injections, Allura is proud to have been the first medical spa in Northern Colorado to offer Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy using the Sotto Pelle method.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has seen a surge in popularity over the past few years, driven by growing awareness of its benefits in managing various symptoms of hormonal imbalances. What was once primarily used to treat menopausal women is now widely used by both men and women to treat fatigue, mood swings, sexual health concerns, and more. Northern Colorado is no exception, Allura has seen an uptick in hormone consultations and treatments at both their Fort Collins and Loveland clinics.

We sat down with one of Allura’s medical providers to learn more. Karley Boltjes, FNP has been practicing HRT for several years and has a background in family medicine. She recently joined the team of hormone providers at Allura and has already seen clients have great success since starting Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Karley’s goal is to improve the quality of her client's lives by uncovering and treating their hormone imbalances. She describes this process as an “upward spiral” for the client.

“When patients come in to see us inquiring about hormone therapy, they are typically feeling symptoms where they are not motivated, they don’t feel like their younger self, they don’t have the energy to work out, and the list goes on. This is what I call their ‘negative spiral’.” Karley explained. “Our goal is

Karley Boltjes FNP

to set them up for the ‘upward spiral’. Balancing even just one hormone can provide noticeable improvements in their day-to-day life. Replacing lost testosterone, and estrogen (estradiol) in the right doses for the patient can set them up for an upward spiral and a more vibrant life.”

Since no two individuals are the same, hormone dosing is personalized to meet the patient’s needs. The process, however, remains the same… starting with a phone consultation with Allura’s wellness department where the client’s questions are answered and labwork is ordered. The results are received by one of Allura’s hormone providers. This team includes two Nurse Practitioners (FNP), one Physician’s Assistant (PA), and two Medical Doctors (MD). The provider will review the results with the client at their in-person consultation. Treatment starts with a local anesthetic to numb the hip/buttock area, where a small incision is placed to insert the bio-identical hormone pellets (which are the size of a grain of rice or smaller). The pellets are absorbed into the bloodstream and continuously metabolized based on cardiac output. Male clients return for treatment every 4-6 months and female clients return every 3-4 months.

symptoms and overall well-being. Growing up Karley had an innate drive to help othersinspired by the work ethic of her parents. She notes that this is ultimately what led her to go into the medical field.

She continues to be inspired by her family and the provider team of female leaders at Allura. “The support and empowerment I receive here, as a professional, is just the coolest thing. I witness women inspiring women, and lifting each other up every day at work. There is not enough of that in our world and it is so amazing to be a part of,” Karley stated.

“All of this is helping them feel better as a whole, setting them up for an upward spiral and a more vibrant life.”

Backed by a powerhouse team of incredible individuals, Allura Skin, Laser & Wellness Clinic is forging a new path of wellness for their male and female clients. Each hormone provider at Allura is highly trained in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and the nuances of small changes in dosing to see vast improvements in their clients. Karley and the team attend local and national conferences and seminars to stay educated on new research and updates in the world of hormone replacement.

When Karley sees her clients return for treatment, it is rewarding to hear reports of improved

Yoga offers a powerful way to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Several poses in particular—Seated Forward Fold, Seated Side Bend, and Alternate Nostril Breathing—can be especially beneficial for calming the mind and soothing the body.

Seated Forward Fold: This gentle forward bend helps release tension in the lower back, hamstrings, and spine. By folding forward, you encourage a deep sense of relaxation, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, and promote deeper breathing, all of which can reduce anxiety and mental stress.

Seated Side Bend: This stretch targets the side body, stretching the ribs, spine, and shoulders. The side bending motion helps open up the chest and improve circulation, which fosters a sense of calm. It also increases flexibility in the upper body and promotes a more relaxed posture.

Alternate Nostril Breathing: This breathing technique balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, calming the nervous system and promoting mental clarity. It’s particularly effective for reducing stress, anxiety, and promoting emotional equilibrium.

Experiencing Club Loveland

The Heartbeat

of Health

As you walk into Club Loveland, you don’t expect to find a fitness haven that feels so welcoming and unpretentious. From the outside, it appears modest—almost like a neighborhood secret. But step through the doors, and the true scope of the space reveals itself. It’s deceivingly larger inside than it appears, with sunlight streaming through windows, bouncing off state-of-the-art equipment, and an energy that immediately feels warm and inviting. This is more than just your average cookie-cutter gym.

The first thing that strikes you is the genuine friendliness of the staff. From the receptionist greeting you with a smile to the trainers offering encouragement, it feels as though every employee is genuinely invested in your wellness journey. “We really pride ourselves on the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the functionality of the club,” says owner Todd Heenan. His passion is evident, and it’s easy to see why members keep coming back.

Todd doesn’t just manage Club Loveland; as the owner, he embodies its heart and soul. His philosophy goes beyond physical fitness, touching on mental and emotional health as well. “The key to a long-term health and wellness plan is you have to get into a routine,” he shares. “You have to make yourself do it. Once you do that, you create a lifestyle change.”

He’s not wrong. Walking around the facility, you can see the rhythm of wellness playing out—people in a spin class powering through the last leg of their ride, friends meeting up for a yoga session, or a trainer guiding a member through a customized plan. Every corner

of the club hums with purpose.  But what sets Club Loveland apart is its approach to education. Seminars cover a wide range of topics, from financial wellness to stress management, ensuring that members leave empowered with knowledge, not just sweat.

One of the most inspiring aspects of Club Loveland is its commitment to community. Todd emphasizes that this isn’t just a gym—it’s a gathering place where relationships are built, and people are supported.  Todd’s personal dedication to community shines through in every decision he makes. Whether it’s donating to local events, or sponsoring raffles, he ensures that Club Loveland isn’t just a business within the community—it’s a part of the community. “The more that you’re out there giving into the community, the more I think the community will support you and respect you,” he adds.

CONTINUED

“I THINK THAT'S WHAT THE MEMBERS TRULY LIKE ABOUT THE FACILITY, THE CLUB, AND THE STAFF IS THAT IT'S JUST UNASSUMING, AND EVERYBODY IS THERE FOR FUN AND TO TRY AND IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH.”

For anyone feeling daunted by starting or restarting their fitness journey, Club Loveland makes it easy. Every new member receives a complimentary 45-minute session with a personal trainer, designed to jumpstart their routine. “The trainers have knowledge,” Todd says. “They’re going to make you do things you wouldn’t ever do on your own. They’ll push you a little harder than you would push yourself, but it’s the appointment that really has an impact.”

With over 60 group exercise classes each week— everything from Pilates to Zumba—there’s something for everyone. The club also boasts a pristine swimming pool, steam room, and hot tub with a spa-like ambiance in its locker rooms. “We work tirelessly keeping our facility very, very clean,” Todd shares. “I have a company that comes in every two months and does preventative maintenance on all of our equipment.”

Perhaps what’s most inspiring about Club Loveland is Todd’s unwavering accessibility and authenticity. His office, positioned by the cardio area, is intentionally visible. “I’m in a fishbowl up by the cardio area so everybody can see me,” he says. “If you have something you want to say to me—or just say hi—I’m right here. You don’t have to look for me.” For Todd, it all comes down to one thing: the people. “I’ve always been a very gregarious person, and I like being around people,” he says. “If you make yourself accessible, that shows

you’ve got confidence in what you’re doing.” And at Club Loveland, that confidence is contagious. January is the perfect time to start fresh, and Club Loveland is ready to help you make lasting changes. Todd offers practical advice for anyone embarking on a health and wellness journey: “You must be patient. You can’t expect that you put the weight on and it’s going to come off in a month. You’ve got to make sure that you really set some goals and be ready to make some changes.”

Walking out of Club Loveland, you feel something you didn’t expect: inspiration, because there is a sense of being part of a place that genuinely cares about your success.  It’s this personal touch that makes the difference. At Club Loveland, you’re not just another membership number. You're part of something larger—a community that uplifts and encourages, a space designed to inspire and empower.
