LIFESTYLE LETTER

Cheers to 2025!

Happy New Year! Like many others, I believe there is a sense of magic that comes along with the new year; new ambitions, new goals, and new beginnings. It is comforting to know that January 1st is a universal excuse for a fresh start.

This month, we dive into all things health and wellness. Health is not limited to a gym membership - it can be everything from spending more time in the outdoors, finding activities that keep our bodies moving, taking breaks for our mental wellness, or it can simply be allowing ourselves to take a deep breath… because sometimes, we all just need to be reminded that it is okay to do so.

To me, having a healthy mindset is one of the biggest aspects of health and wellness. With all the hustle and bustle life brings, I believe it is so important that we give ourselves grace and allow time for the things that make us happy. As we embark on this new year, my wish is that we can all take the time to create healthier habits – whether that be physical, mental, or beyond.

It is said that it can take as little as three weeks to create a habit, so as you read this issue, I hope you feel inspired and enter this new year with strength, confidence, and the mindset that you can do anything!

Cheers to 2025!

A look inside VITALITY ELITE

Fitness coach, athlete, entrepreneur, and mother of two, Danielle Palladino has always had a passion for health and nutrition. Whether it be on the soccer field, softball field, tennis court, the track, or in her own studio, her mindset has always remained true to helping others become the best version of themselves.

With more than ten years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Danielle started her own company, Vitality Elite, to help others with their fitness goals. She explains that The Elite Program is not a cookie cutter program; “I spend lots of one-onone time with the client before even starting the program,” she shares. “I develop a nutrition and fitness plan that fits within my client's lifestyle and goals, then I make changes that are sustainable. This is not a diet plan with a ‘start’ and ‘end’ date.”

Vitality Elite differs from your average gym because the majority of the magic happens outside of the gym; while you can work with a trainer one hour a day, it's what you do with the other twenty-three hours that will truly determine the difference. Danielle and her team offer support with all of your health goals from sleep to supplements, to what to order when going out to eat, and what to buy at the grocery store.

CEO Danielle Palladino talks about her fitness journey and how she uses her passion to help others.

Danielle’s love for fitness first began at age twelve, when she learned the basic foundations of lifting weights from her dad in the garage. Learning some of the most important skills in life through fitness - such as hard work, confidence, discipline, camaraderie, sportsmanship, the power of the mind and dealing with success and failure – Danielle is honored to be using her passion for health to help others.

“It’s not just about guiding someone through a workout or providing dietary advice, it's about facilitating a transformation on a deeper level.” she explains. “I am immensely passionate about embracing a healthy lifestyle because I have experienced its profound impact on every aspect of my life. It goes beyond physical fitness; it encompasses mental clarity, emotional well-being, and overall vitality.”

Embodying the power of discipline, resilience, and self-belief, along the way, Danielle is a testament that health can not only transform your body, but your mind, too. She strives to inspire and empower others to embark on their own transformative journeys, knowing that a healthy lifestyle holds the key to unlocking their full potential.

“I love seeing what my body is truly capable of doing, whether it be running a half marathon at 8 months pregnant, always trying to increase my deadlift max, or being a National Physique Competitor,” Danielle shares. “I am loving this journey and experiencing transformation of my body and strengthening my mental discipline which carries over into all parts of my life.”

“I develop a nutrition and fitness plan that fits within my client's lifestyle and goals. Start small, stay consistent, and remember: the hardest part is always the beginning.”

JESSIE JAMES DECKER
A glimpse into the life, family, and career of artist Jessie

Jessie James Decker is a singer, songwriter, two time NY Times bestselling author, a business owner, a wife, a mother, and the list goes on! Nashville has been supporting Jessie since she first came on the scene as a country artist more than 15 years ago. Life has not slowed down for her, and we got the inside scoop on how Jessie juggles so many kids, dreams, and passions while always being her authentic self.

James Decker.

2024 WAS QUITE A BUSY YEAR FOR YOU; NEW BABY, NEW MUSIC, NEW FASHION, NEW RECIPES, AND MORE! WHAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST IN ALL OF THE NEW EXCITEMENT?

What’s surprised me most is how quickly the year went by. I feel like I was just pregnant and in a blink of an eye, here we are a family of four!

KITTENISH HAS BECOME SUCH A NASHVILLE STAPLE. YOU HAVE TO BE SO PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE BUILT WITH THE BRAND! WHAT HAS KEPT YOU INSPIRED ALL OF THESE YEARS?

I love fashion. I love making women feel beautiful. I love feeling creative and inspired. Fashion is always evolving so there is always something new and fun to create.

YOU SEEM TO BE SO COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN; THIS IS SO REFRESHING TO SEE! WHAT DO YOU CREDIT TO BEING SO CONFIDENTLY YOURSELF WITH SO MANY PRESSURES IN TODAY’S WORLD?

I think because there is no alternative; except to what, feel bad? I would rather be confident and tell myself I’m gonna rock it today! It is key to not talk down to yourself. There are pressures, but there isn’t one way that is better than the other. Being beautiful comes in all ways!

BEING A WORKING MOTHER OF 4, WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU PRIORITIZE SELF CARE?

Bubble bath and sippin’ on a little red with some music and candles. It’s so important to have that time.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY IN YOUR LIFE LOOK LIKE?

Coffee first- ha! Kids out the door for school, and then Eric and I head to the gym 2-3 times a week. From there it’s anything I need to tackle with Kittenish, Denver’s naps, music, meetings, etc. When the kids come home the taxicab begins! Sports, gymnastics, basketball, football whatever it may be. Then family dinner, of course, bath time, and family snuggles.

YOU DEFINITELY WEAR A LOT OF HATS IN LIFE. WHAT ARE WAYS YOU HAVE LEARNED TO EMBRACE THE BEAUTIFUL CHAOS OF LIFE?

I always strive to balance it all better, but it’s impossible to really achieve. We just have to do our best! Sometimes I won’t get around to everything, and that’s okay. As long as my kids and family feel loved, that’s the main goal for me.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST MONUMENTAL OR MEMORABLE MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE SO FAR?

The most monumental moment was when my son, Denver, was born. It will go down in my mind and heart as one of the greatest memories of my entire life- having my three older children run down the hospital hallway and entering the hospital room to meet their new, baby brother. It truly was like an out-of-body experience for all of us, and so special. Definitely a memory I feel like I

will remember when I’m an old lady in a chair with Eric, drinking coffee, and reminiscing about sweet memories.

WITH THE NEW YEAR BEGINNING, DO YOU HAVE ANY RESOLUTIONS OR GOALS FOR 2025?

Not to stress out about the little things, and to make sure I say yes when I really want to and no when I know it’s not necessary!

WHAT’S NEXT ON THE HORIZON FOR YOU?

So many exciting things are on the horizon! Some cool Kittenish collaborations that I can’t wait to share with everyone, new music is coming, a new cookbook I will be working on to release in 2026, and my cookware line has expanded at Walmart.

Keep up to date with Jessie James Decker and follow along! @jessiejamesdecker

A LOOK INSIDE NOVEL EYE CARE, CREATED BY DR. JULIANNE KOCH, WHERE COMPREHENSIVE, PERSONALIZED EYE CARE AND EYE WEAR IS PROVIDED TO PATIENTS OF ALL AGES.

With over ten years of experience in optometry, Dr. Julianne Koch recently opened her own practice located in the heart of Nashville. Located in Midtown, Novel Eye Care consists of a skilled team that treats both adults and children. Born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dr. Koch attended the University of Arkansas, where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology, and continued her education at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. After graduating in 2013, she began working in Murfreesboro before making the move to Music City. Having had glasses since she was two years old, Dr. Koch shares that having a job where she could help others is something she has always known she’s wanted to do.

“I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare, and it ended up being Optometry because I’ve always been passionate about eyes,” she explains.

Going to the eye doctor regularly growing up helped spark her interest in pursuing it professionally as a career; Optometry was something she always had a knowledge of, and was familiar with, therefore, she decided to combine her passion of Optometry and pediatrics and opened her first practice that offers both adult and child care right here in Nashville. Landing on the name Novel Eye Care, her thoughtfully designed office offers a warm touch to all who walk in.

When entering the front door, patients are met with an optical that offers a space to order contacts, purchase glasses, and glass frames. Novel even offers a chic selection of designer frames from designer brands like Prada, Tom Ford, Tiffany & Co, Persol, and even Dr. Seuss inspired frames for the little ones. Dr. Koch’s personal style and touch is to be noted from the whole Novel experience; everything from the interior design of the space that she designed herself, to the curated selection of frames that is offered.

An active reader herself, Dr. Koch wanted to build her practice around the theme of books, hence where the name Novel stemmed from. They even have a hidden bookshelf door to get to the pre-test area! She has an incredible in house book collection to reflect the Novel name, and to make her clientele feel inspired. Especially for her clients that are children and might be wearing glasses for the first time; it definitely brings a fun element to the whole experience.

When asked what she wanted her patients to feel when entering her practice, Dr. Koch says, “Like they’re in a cozy home library… the name Novel is a twist on the books and also means ‘new,’ you know, you’ve got to see to read!” She continues to share that she knows eye exams can be a little stressful, so making her patients comfortable is something she and her team focus on.

A member of the American Optometric Association, Tennessee Optometric Association, and previously Vice President of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physician Society, Dr. Koch is a full-scope doctor treating everything from dry eye to performing routine medical and vision exams to emergency eye care. In addition, she routinely diagnoses and monitors eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Also experienced in specialty contact lens fitting, Dr. Koch shares that getting routine eye checks, even if you have clear vision, is very important and something people often don’t think to do.

“It’s something that’s recommended, especially if you have family members who are at risk for eye diseases or if you have other conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure or high cholesterol,” she shares. “All of these things we can see in the back of your eyes and can really affect your vision.”

Dr. Koch shares how rewarding it is to help others with their sight; whether it be helping a patient determine the root of their problem or helping a child see clearly for the first time with glasses, being in a role that is built around helping others means a lot to Dr. Koch. Her genuine nature and incredible knowledge are quick to realize in just one interaction!

“I am passionate about eye care and helping people see better and more comfortably,” she says. “Sometimes sight isn’t just about how you’re seeing, but how you’re feeling with your eyes as well, whether it’s your lids and your lashes, or the appearance… helping others see better is very rewarding.”

Novel Eye Care accepts a wide variety of insurances, and is quickly growing their new practice! They are open Monday through Friday, and more information on Novel Eye Care can be found at noveleyecare.com .
