Love for New Braunfels!
I am SO excited to be the owner of NBTX and it has already blessed me in so many ways. February is the month of love in every fashion. Love for a spouse or significant other, love for a child, love for your parents, love for your grandparents, love for friends, love for a pet, love for your community, love for new relationships and old, love for those in need and love for doing better for ourselves and others.

There are so many things that I love about New Braunfels and the thing that makes NB so special is each and every one of YOU! I love that there are so many helping hands in this community, I love that you can have something to do almost any day of the week and meeting new friendly faces is something that is taken for granted, because we truly do have such kind and generous people.
So remember this month to love all those around you, new people you meet and remember all the businesses in New Braunfels are here because they realized they wanted to share something with each and every one of you that they love as well. If you are out and about and see me around, please say hello as I would love to meet you! Much love and blessings to you all this month!

PHOTOGRAPHY BY DEBBIE MEEKS THE FOUNDATION TRUST
SUPPORTING SCHOLARSHIPS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH, THE BRAUNFELS FOUNDATION TRUST’S TABLESCAPES EVENT EMPOWERS LOCAL STUDENTS.

NIGHT OF GIVING
The Braunfels Foundation Trust’s Tablescapes Benefit is a dazzling celebration of creativity, philanthropy, and community. Held on February 20th, 2025, at The Chandelier Event
to elegant ‘20s glamour, past years have featured a wide array of themes, including a miniature tablescape by Cat Haus Designs in 2024. Designers often spend months planning their cre-
“TABLESCAPES ALLOWS US TO PROVIDE MORE SCHOLARSHIPS AND BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS.”
Venue in New Braunfels, the annual event has become a beloved tradition, uniting the community to raise funds for scholarships that provide local students with opportunities for higher education.
Since its inception, Tablescapes has grown in scope, becoming one of the most anticipated events in New Braunfels. The event was created with the goal of increasing the number and value of scholarships available to local students. “Tablescapes allows us to add to Trust revenues,” explains Trust Coordinator Debbie Meek. Inspired by a similar event in Dallas, the concept was adapted to fit the spirit of New Braunfels, where creativity, community, and charity shine.
Walking into the event feels like stepping into a living art gallery. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals design themed tables that tell unique stories through design and creativity. From whimsical enchanted gardens
ations, incorporating intricate details that leave attendees in awe.
While the tablescapes are the event’s visual centerpiece, the night is equally meaningful. Many designs reflect personal stories or honor loved ones, adding a layer of depth and connection to the event. Attendees are not just treated to beautiful displays, but they also feel the powerful bonds that unite the community in support of education.
The scholarships raised through Tablescapes have made a significant impact on local students. Debbie Meek shares that many parents have told her that without these scholarships, their children would not have been able to pursue higher education. “That’s over 400 students and families to date in our area,” Meek says. The funds raised allow students to pursue trade school, community college, or certification programs, which ultimately provide better job opportunities and a higher quality

of life. For many recipients, these scholarships are more than just financial support— they represent a vote of confidence and encouragement from their community.
Tablescapes is an experience, not just a fundraiser. The event features entertainment, fine dining, and speeches from scholarship recipients who share how the funds have changed their lives. The evening also includes silent and live auctions, offering items such as luxury experiences, local art, vacation packages, and exclusive dining opportunities. These auctions not only raise funds but also showcase the generosity of local businesses and individuals who contribute to the cause.
Live performances by local musicians further enhance the festive atmosphere, highlighting the city’s rich cultural heritage. The funds raised at Tablescapes directly support the Braunfels Foundation Trust’s scholarships, providing much-needed financial assistance to local students. But the event’s impact goes beyond just the scholarships; it fosters a sense of community and collaboration, bringing people together for a shared purpose.
The success of Tablescapes wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of volunteers and the support of local businesses. Volunteers work behind the scenes to ensure the event runs smoothly, from table assignments to logistics. Local businesses also play a critical role by sponsoring the event, donating auction items, and providing financial support. Their involvement is a key factor in the event’s success and the continued growth of the Braunfels Foundation Trust.
THAT’S OVER 400 STUDENTS AND FAMILIES HELPED.
Beyond Tablescapes, the Braunfels Foundation Trust operates the Baron and Baroness membership program, which has been vital to funding the scholarships. With nearly 100% membership retention each year, this program provides the bulk of the scholarship funds distributed to students. Last May, the Trust awarded $2,500 each to over 50 high school graduates pursuing trade school, community college, or skills certification.
Tablescapes continues to grow, and each year it brings new opportunities to make a lasting impact. For New Braunfels, it is a reflection of the city’s heart and spirit—a celebration of creativity, generosity, and the power of community. Whether you attend the event, sponsor a table, donate auction items, or volunteer, your support helps further the Braunfels Foundation Trust’s mission to provide scholarships and improve education in the community.
Tablescapes is more than just a fundraiser—it’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression. It’s a chance to celebrate creativity, to come together for a shared cause, and to make a real difference in the lives of local students. Join us for an unforgettable evening that supports education, opportunity, and the future of New Braunfels.

Building the Perfect Bouquet
Valentine’s Day can be celebrated in many ways. Some people choose to go out for dinner and a movie, others hire a private chef for a romantic meal at home, some buy chocolates and find a fun activity in town, and some couples go out of town for an exciting getaway! One Valentine’s Day staple is giving a bouquet of flowers to someone special. Flowers are the gift that say I love you and can be given to your spouse, children, and mom. As a child, my father always got me roses on Valentine’s Day until I met my husband and he took over the tradition. A bouquet of flowers can say many things as each flower has a different meaning. If you’re wanting to say something special to the ones you love this Valentine’s Day, take a look at our list of three popular flowers, what they mean, and what flowers to pair them with.

USE THIS GUIDE WHEN ORDERING VALENTINE’S DAY BOUQUETS

Roses
LOVE & ROMANCE
Roses are by far the most popular flower to give on Valentine’s Day. They are beautiful by themselves or you can add Baby’s Breath to enhance the bouquet. These two make a romantic bouquet and are the perfect flowers to give to someone special.

Lilies
PURITY & FERTILITY
Lilies come in a variety of colors and are eye-catching! For a softer looking bouquet, pair your lilies with carnations. These two combined are fun and heartwarming and are a great gift for anyone.

Tulips
PERFECT FOR DEEP LOVE
A bouquet of tulips will brighten any space! Adding some Ranunculus, also known as buttercup, will compliment the tulips wonderfully. These flowers have a refreshing look that will decorate any home beautifully in a crystal vase.

A Handmade Date Night

Make it feel like an extra special at-home date night with thoughtful touches from the heart—and hands.

A date night at home is the perfect occasion to shower your loved ones with affection and appreciation. While storebought gifts and cards have their charm, there’s something incredibly special about receiving a handmade gesture. By opting for a handmade date night, you’re not just expressing love but also showcasing your thoughtfulness and effort. These handmade creations convey a personal touch that can’t be replicated.

From-Scratch Pasta
what you need
Lavender Bath Salt Blend
what you need
16 ounces Bokek Dead Sea Salt 20 drops lavender essential oil
what you do
In a mixing bowl, add drops of the essential oil to the bath salt and mix well; store in a glass jar. Add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the scented salts to a bath for a relaxing experience. SeaSalt.com

Yield: 1 pound
2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 4 large eggs
what you do
1. Mound the flour in the center of a work surface with a well in the middle. Crack the eggs into the well and beat with a fork until smooth, then work flour into eggs with the fork. Use a bench scraper to work in the rest of the flour a little at a time. When the flour is incorporated, form the dough with your hands into a rounded mass for kneading. Lightly dust your workspace with flour and knead dough about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover dough with a bowl or plastic wrap and rest 1 1/2 hours, or chill overnight.
2. To roll by hand, flour a clean work surface. Vigorously roll dough to a very thin circle and roll constantly with even pressure as it stretches for several minutes until as thin as possible, almost translucent.
3. To cut by hand, lightly fold sheets one at a time into thirds and cut to desired thickness. Recipe from MarthaStewart.com

Dark Chocolate Truffles
what you need
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup cocoa powder, for dusting
what you do
1. Bring the cream to just a simmer in a saucepan over low heat. Pour the cream over the chocolate in a bowl and let stand about 10 minutes to melt the chocolate. Add the vanilla, stir until smooth and set aside to cool for 1 hour at room temperature.
2. Beat chocolate at medium speed until thick and light-colored. Spread over the bottom of a baking dish, smooth and refrigerate 2 hours until firm.
3. Pour cocoa powder onto a deep plate or shallow bowl, and using a melon baller or small ice cream scoop, scoop out balls of chocolate. Roll in cocoa powder until coated and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Recipe from FoodNetwork.com
