Welcome HOME New Braunfels!

Home. So much contained in that little four letter word. Home is our grounding. Our base. Our launchpad. It’s where we start and end each day. And while the particulars look different for each of us, the meaning and value it holds for all of us is undeniable.

Author Wendy Wunder said, “The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.”As we thought about home - we wanted to highlight what makes it special to our readers. That of course includes the food and drinks, the aesthetic and design, but most importantly - the people.

Even though New Braunfels is growing FAST, we still have that small town charm.  This is what makes New Braunfels so fun to call home.  I feel so grateful when I am sitting in my home thinking that I get to live in one of the best cities in the United States!  I feel like the lucky one as I get to learn more about the businesses and individuals that comprise this city and hope the small lens into their lives and work brings people in this community together.

As you flip through the pages of this issue, we hope you’ll feel encouraged and connected to the people around you - in your city, neighborhood and most all of - your home.

Every month, we hear from readers who keep this magazine for longer than just the month labeled on the cover. They say they hold onto it for months as coffee table art or an accessory in their home. We feel proud to create a resource that is valued in our community and strive every month to deliver the value you expect. Thanks for letting us be a part of your home.

Have a fabulous March!!

BUILDING A LEGACY

Grand Endeavor Homes is Building More Than a Home They Are Building the Future.

Central Texas, known for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and growing communities, has become a sought-after region for custom homebuilding. At the forefront of this movement is Grand Endeavor Homes, a company rooted in the principles of craftsmanship, innovation, and thoughtful design.

Grand Endeavor Homes was established with a clear mission: to create homes that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal to the families who live in them. Custom homebuilding requires attention to detail and an understanding of each client's vision, and Grand Endeavor has built a reputation on delivering just that.

What makes Grand Endeavor Homes stand out is their commitment to collaboration. From the initial planning stages to the final touches, the company works closely with homeowners to ensure the design reflects their needs and lifestyle. This approach has resonated with clients across Central Texas, many of whom value the combination of personalized service and quality construction.

As Central Texas continues to grow, so too does Grand Endeavor’s presence. The company has embraced opportunities in New Braunfels, a city that perfectly balances its small-town charm with the conveniences of modern living. Located between

Austin and San Antonio, New Braunfels is known for its vibrant culture, historic roots, and scenic Hill Country backdrop.

Grand Endeavor's projects in the area are designed to complement the city’s character while meeting the diverse needs of its residents. From open floor plans that encourage connection to outdoor spaces that take advantage of the surrounding natural beauty, their homes reflect the lifestyle that makes New Braunfels so appealing.

Custom homebuilding is a dynamic field, and Grand Endeavor has observed several trends shaping the industry in Texas. Clients are increasingly drawn to open yet more segmented spaces within the home. After years of favoring open floorplans, we are currently seeing a shift towards designs that offer a balance between open areas and distinct, functional spaces, allowing for greater flexibility and privacy without sacrificing the overall sense of flow.

Another area of focus is sustainability. Many homeowners are prioritizing energy-efficient features and environmentally friendly materials. This includes solar panels, smart home systems, and designs that optimize natural light and ventilation. Grand Endeavor has adapted to these priorities by incorporating eco-conscious options into their homes.

TO EXPAND THEIR REACH, THE COMPANY

AS THEY CONTINUE

TRUE TO ITS CORE VALUES: BUILDING

REMAINS FOCUSED ON STAYING
HOMES THAT REFLECT THE INDIVIDUALITY OF THEIR CLIENTS WHILE MAINTAINING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Additionally, the influence of the Hill Country is apparent in many of their designs. Features such as large windows, exposed wooden beams, and natural stone elements help create a sense of connection to the landscape, a key aspect of life in Central Texas.

While Grand Endeavor Homes is known for its quality construction, the company is also committed to the communities where they build. By working on projects in growing areas like New Braunfels, they play a role in

shaping neighborhoods and fostering a sense of belonging. Their designs are crafted to enhance not only the individual homeowner's experience but also the character of the community.

Central Texas is evolving rapidly, and Grand Endeavor Homes is poised to grow alongside it. As they continue to expand their reach, the company remains focused on staying true to its core values: building homes that reflect the individuality of their clients while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Looking ahead, they plan to explore innovative building practices and new technologies that can further enhance the custom homebuilding experience. At the same time, they remain dedicated to understanding and adapting to the unique needs of families across the region.

Grand Endeavor Homes has established itself as a trusted name in Central Texas by consistently delivering homes that combine thoughtful design with quality construction. Whether it’s through their work in New Braunfels or other

communities, the company’s approach centers on creating spaces that fit seamlessly into the lives of their clients.

When asked what is on the horizon

Grand Endeavor says, The Preserve at Elm Creek is our newest community in New Braunfels, offering an exceptional blend of luxury and natural beauty. Set within a park-like environment, this exclusive community features spacious, heavily wooded 1 to 2 acre lots, each providing stunning panoramic views of the picturesque Texas Hill Country.

INNOVATION MEETS

ARTISTRY

Kitchen design has entered a transformative era, where innovation meets artistry to create spaces that are not only functional but also personal and sustainable. With advancements in technology, materials and craftsmanship, today’s kitchens are tailored to meet the evolving needs and tastes of homeowners.

According to interior designer Laura McCroskey, kitchens today are about more than just cooking—they’re an expression of personal lifestyle.

ARTICLE BY ALLISON SWAN

PHOTOGRAPHY BY NATE SHEETS

“Kitchen design has entered an exciting time where the possibilities feel limitless,” says McCroskey. “For me, the design process starts before lines are ever drawn on a construction document. I believe in creating spaces that enhance life, both functionally and aesthetically. The design process begins with a discussion about what a space needs to do, and what aesthetic will bring a spark to the homeowner.

I also firmly believe that when designing a kitchen, one should walk out a recipe to make sure everything is in the right place to suit one’s lifestyle. Cooking zones are imperative to a well-designed kitchen.”

Modern kitchens emphasize zoning, or the creation of dedicated areas for preparation, cooking and storage, to enhance workflow and functionality. These zones not only improve efficiency but also contribute to a cohesive and visually appealing aesthetic.

Cutting-edge rendering software, utilizing technology similar to that used in gaming, allows homeowners to visualize their dream kitchens in hyper-realistic detail. While these tools inspire creativity, McCroskey advises balancing ambitious ideas with practical implementation to achieve the best results.

Technology, sustainability and customization are driving the revolution in kitchen design. Advanced appliances are at the forefront, enhancing convenience while aligning with a growing emphasis on eco-friendliness.

“From vacuum-sealing drawers that preserve food and reduce waste to smart appliances controlled by your phone, the emphasis is on efficiency and sustainability. Functional storage built seamlessly into marble countertops and oversized workstation sinks are making daily tasks easier and more enjoyable. Thoughtful features like composting compartments

THE HEART OF THE HOME

and advanced food preservation methods reflect a broader effort to minimize waste and reduce environmental impact.”

Custom cabinetry that maximizes every inch of space minimizes waste while optimizing functionality.

“Forget the limits of traditional cabinetry. Blind corners, tiny nooks and hidden areas are now designed to maximize storage. Automated drawers and pop-up outlets are becoming increasingly common, marrying convenience with sleek aesthetics.”

Design trends have also evolved, becoming more flexible to reflect individual tastes.

“While white kitchens remain timeless and black adds drama, bleached woods continue to be popular. Style trends are no longer as rigid—whether you prefer modern, transitional, or traditional designs, you can create a kitchen tailored to your unique vision. There’s no limit to what you can achieve with today’s tools and technologies. The goal is to create spaces that resonate deeply with the people who live in them.”

The kitchen is the heart of every home and represents a space of endless possibility. Whether your aesthetic leans modern, farmhouse or somewhere in between, the tools and technologies available today make it easier than ever to bring your vision to life.

Your belongings include your most prized possessions. When it comes to moving, ensuring you hire a company that treat your valuables with respect is very important.

Earthly Elegance

Warm, timeless design inspired by Mocha Mousse and natural textures.

Fresh Take on a Nursery 1. 2.

A fresh take on classic nursery pink, this earthy hue creates a soft, calming backdrop. Pair it with rattan or wicker accents, brass details, and natural terracotta for a warm, inviting space. This palette balances charm and sophistication, perfect for creating a serene and stylish nursery.

Notes of Warmth for the Kitchen

Bring warmth to your kitchen with cabinetry or an island painted in a rich, inviting tone. Pair it with copper accents like hardware, lighting, or accessories for added charm. This look is beautifully complemented by earthy greens, wood tones, and other natural elements, creating a cozy and inviting space.

Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse, sets the tone for a warm, inviting design aesthetic that balances luxury with grounded simplicity. This rich, earthy hue evokes a sense of calm and elegance, making it a versatile choice for both modern and traditional spaces. Its natural warmth creates a perfect foundation for layering textures, materials, and complementary tones, elevating any interior or design project.

Local interior designers Madison Crowe and Megan Silva of Parker Home and Design have drawn inspiration from Mocha Mousse to create trend-forward concepts that seamlessly blend comfort and sophistication. Their

ideas feature a thoughtful mix of organic materials, soft neutrals, and subtle metallics, resulting in spaces that feel both elevated and approachable. By pairing Mocha Mousse with muted greens, creamy whites, and warm accents, they bring this timeless hue to life in a way that inspires creativity and serenity.

Small Space, Big Impact in any Powder Room or Bar

Make a statement by pairing this earthy hue with bold patterns and complementary colors through fun wallpaper and striking tile. Perfect for a powder bath or bar area, these small spaces offer the ideal canvas to create a big, impactful design that’s both stylish and memorable.

Create a cozy, layered space with soft textiles, stone accents, and wall art. This color pairs beautifully with neutrals and greenery, bringing a warm, natural touch. Use it for drapes, throw pillows, or accent chairs to add depth and refinement to any room.

WOVEN + KNOTTED

LIVING BOHO-CHIC WITH WOVEN TEXTURES AND MACRAMÉ

Decorate your space with handmade textures such as the modern, maker revival of 1970s macramé and year-round tropical feel of wicker. MACRAMÉ Made through knotting instead of weaving, macramé can add a unique touch in many various ways. Houzz contributor Laura Gaskill suggests incorporating it as nursery decor, plant hangers, wall hangings and modern fiber arts. WICKER According to Houzz contributor Yanic Simard, “the best way to really embrace the luxury-cottage appeal of wicker and rattan is to combine different forms of the two in one space... Look for other unexpected places to add a natural twist to your home with a new material woven into your palette.”

AGAINST THE GRAIN

TIPS FOR DECORATING WITH NATURAL MATERIALS

Houzz contributor Katie Treggiden offers many ways to incorporate natural materials and natural-state timber into your home, including using wood to cover one wall in a home for a pleasing accent wall; featuring your firewood as a striking, stacked display; and mixing different types of wood and different finishes in the same space. “A simple way to incorporate the wood trend is to expose structural wooden beams already present in your home,” Katie says. “Instead of painting them or boxing them in, leave them raw or give them a coat of wax to enrich the tones.”

Pantry Perfected

Simple steps to organize your pantry for a tidy space.

Tips for Organizing Your Pantry

An organized pantry can make meal prep a breeze and help reduce food waste. Follow these simple tips to turn your pantry into a functional and tidy space.

1. Start Fresh: Remove all items, check expiration dates, and discard anything expired. Wipe down shelves before restocking.

2. Group Like Items: Sort by category—baking supplies, canned goods, snacks, and spices. This makes it easier to find what you need quickly.

3. Use Clear Containers and Baskets: Store dry goods like flour, pasta, and cereal in labeled, airtight containers. Clear bins let you see what’s inside while maintaining a uniform look.

4. Maximize Space: Add shelf risers, lazy Susans, or over-the-door organizers to make the most of every inch.

5. Maintain Regularly: Schedule a quick tidy-up every month to keep things in order.

With these steps, your pantry will stay neat and ready for any culinary adventure!

KEY SECRETS FOR A SPARKLING HOME

A SPRING KIND OF CLEAN

TIP #1 Freshen up the Kitchen

A fresh, clean kitchen impacts the entire home. To freshen up the sink, Kim says, “Run hot water while pouring in equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar through the disposal. Follow with a few drops of blue Dawn Dishwashing soap to cut away any grease buildup. Sharpen the disposal blades by running cooler water and ice through it. For a fresh smell, grind a few slices of lemon, lime or orange, removing any seeds first.”

To clean everything else in the kitchen, including counters and stainless-steel appliances, use a microfiber cloth and a solution of 2-3 drops of Dawn mixed with water.

TIP #2 Spruce up the Living Room

The living room also deserves special attention. Kim says, “Start by pulling furniture away from the walls, vacuuming and dusting behind it. Make sure you dust air vents as well. Then, pull all of the furniture cushions off to vacuum underneath and in crevices. It’s always good to rotate and fluff cushions too.”

To banish dust from your furniture, Kim suggests using a good microfiber cloth that is slightly damp instead of furniture polish, which can leave a build-up on furniture that actually attracts dust.

TIP #3 Brighten up Windows

Brighten up your whole home by intentionally focusing on the windows. “Homeowners often forget about the inside of the window,” says Kim. “They dust the blinds or the shutters, but when the blinds are pulled up, the windows often have dust or a film on them.” Kim suggests cleaning the inside of the windows on a cloudy day to reduce streaks. “A good glass cleaner with a microfiber cloth works really well. If you still have streaks, try using a little bit of rubbing alcohol.”
