Springtime Sanctuary: Celebrating the Art of Home

Dear Readers,

March feels like coming home - a calming yet invigorating breath of fresh air. The light stretches a little longer into the evening, and there’s a sense of awakening in the sometimes humdrum rhythm of our days. Spring isn’t just on the horizon—it’s here, unfolding softly around us, and with it comes the irresistible urge to refresh, rethink, and reimagine the spaces in which we live, work and play.

This month, we celebrate the joy of transforming those spaces we call home. A fresh coat of paint can do wonders, and Color Restoration shares their insight into 2025’s hottest hues to bring life and vibrancy to your walls. Even the smallest change can make a room feel new again, creating a space that reflects who you are today.

Sometimes, creating a home isn’t about starting fresh—it’s about rediscovering beauty in what’s already there. At The Painted Ox in Northwood, timeworn treasures are restored with care, becoming heirlooms that tell a story. Their work reminds us that our homes, like the pieces within them, grow richer with time and intention.

Inspiration abounds this season, especially at the Kips Bay Show House Palm Beach . This showcase of bold design ideas and imaginative interiors reminds us that our homes are not just places to eat and sleep but spaces to dream, grow, and express ourselves.

Spring also teaches us about the importance of nurturing. At Place of Hope, they’ve spent 25 years creating a foundation of care and compassion, giving children and families a place to grow and thrive. Like the first green shoots of spring, their work shows us how the smallest seeds of hope can blossom into a future full of possibility.

And because home is also where we gather to celebrate, we couldn’t resist a nod to St. Patrick’s Day with a bit of Palm Beach flair. Inspired by Palm Royale, the glamorous series set right here, we’re sharing Maxine’s signature Grasshopper recipe. This minty, decadent cocktail is the perfect touch of green for your spring festivities. Sláinte!

As we raise a glass to spring’s arrival, we’re reminded that home is where we anchor ourselves, find inspiration, and embrace the beauty of change. March invites us to refresh our surroundings, ground ourselves with what matters most, and throw open the windows—literally and figuratively—to all the possibilities waiting just beyond.

Warmly,

March 2025

Painting the Town

Find Inspiration for your Interiors with 2025's Hottest Shades

For over 16 years, Edward Santiago and his team at Color Restoration & Construction, LLC have been redefining the painting experience for South Florida homes and businesses. Their approach combines expertise, precision, and luxury, delivering results that prioritize both the client’s vision and the character of the home. “We treat every project as a collaboration,” Santiago explains. “From start to finish, our focus is on creating spaces that feel personal, elegant, and effortless.”

What sets Santiago’s team apart is their meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire process. Dedicated crews handle preparation, painting, and cleanup, leaving the entire home spotless—far beyond the painted areas. “It’s not just about the final coat,” Santiago says. “It’s about making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable for the homeowner.”

The team’s bespoke services go beyond color selection. They use eco-friendly, zero-VOC paints to promote a healthier home environment, carefully protect furniture and floors, and tailor every aspect of the project to meet even the most demanding schedules. “We’re not just slapping paint on the walls,” Santiago adds. “We’re curating an experience that reflects our client’s lifestyle and standards.”

By collaborating closely with homeowners and interior designers, Santiago ensures that each project feels personal and perfectly executed. “Every home has its own story,” he explains. “Our job is to honor that while introducing fresh, modern touches that elevate the space.”

As the design world embraces 2025’s top color trends, Santiago offers expert advice on incorporating standout shades into luxury interiors.

“Color should be a reflection of who you are. It should make you feel something when you walk into a room. Color has the power to shape our emotions and experiences every day.”
– Jonathan Adler

Pantone’s Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse

A warm, earthy brown, Mocha Mousse is ideal for creating cozy, grounded spaces. “We’ve used similar shades in bedrooms and home libraries, where clients want a sense of calm and comfort,” says Santiago. This versatile hue pairs well with natural materials like wood and leather, enhancing its inviting appeal.

Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year: Cinnamon Slate

This elegant blend of plum and brown adds depth and sophistication.

“Cinnamon Slate is perfect for dining rooms or formal living spaces,” Santiago explains. “Pair it with metallic accents for a timeless, polished look.” Its adaptability makes it suitable for both traditional and contemporary settings.

Behr’s Color of the Year: Rumors

A bold plum-red, Rumors makes a dramatic statement. Santiago suggests using it for feature walls or exterior accents.

“We’ve done front doors and entryways in similar shades, and they never fail to impress,” he notes. This vibrant color can energize spaces, making them feel more dynamic and engaging.

Valspar’s Color of the Year: Encore

A deep, atmospheric blue, Encore combines serenity with luxury. “It’s a fantastic choice for home offices or bathrooms,” says Santiago. “It creates a calming environment without losing its sense of richness.” Encore’s versatility allows it to complement a variety of design elements, from minimalist to opulent.

WHERE HOPE LIVES

25 YEARS OF BUILDING FUTURES

For 25 years, Place of Hope has stood as a pillar of compassion and resilience, transforming the lives of children, youth, and families across South Florida. Since its founding in 1998, this extraordinary organization has touched over 150,000 people, offering not just shelter but also a pathway to healing, independence, and success. Under the inspired leadership of Founding CEO Charles L. Bender, Place of Hope has built a legacy defined by innovation, hope, and unwavering dedication.

With campuses spanning Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Hobe Sound, and the Treasure Coast, Place of Hope is the region’s largest and most diverse organization of its kind. Whether helping youth transition out of foster care, supporting single mothers through crises, or leading groundbreaking human trafficking prevention programs, the organization’s mission is rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, and the opportunity to thrive.

Among its many milestones, Place of Hope has facilitated over 375 adoptions, giving children permanent, loving homes. Its Villages of Hope program provides transitional housing and life skills to homeless youth and families, while its Shade Tree initiative, launched in 2022, offers material and emotional support for single mothers and families in crisis. In 2012, it made history by opening Florida’s first safe house for domestic minor sex trafficking victims, a bold step in the fight against modern-day slavery.

This year, Place of Hope is also celebrating the expansion of its partnership with Crime Stoppers and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, a program that offers up to $7,500 in rewards for actionable tips leading to the rescue of trafficking victims. These efforts have already doubled the number of tips in Palm Beach County and are poised to create ripple effects across the state.

“Our mission has always been to honor God by providing the love and stability vulnerable children and families need,” says Bender. “As we look ahead, our focus remains on expanding our reach and deepening our impact.”

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

—DESMOND TUTU

As Place of Hope enters its next chapter, its commitment to breaking cycles of abuse, neglect, and exploitation shines brighter than ever. With unwavering community support and over $100 million raised during its debt-free operation, the organization is poised to continue inspiring hope for decades to come.
