You're Worth the Investment

Welcome to our Invest Issue. I hope April motivates, inspires and empowers you. There are so many layers to what investing means, but no matter what, I find depth within it. It's more than financial details or self-care, investing is a way to multiply wisdom into results. It's an identity within success, contentment and satisfaction. Investing is the way you spend your time and who you spend it with. We talk to Seed Money Consulting about how important it is to have someone you trust when financially investing in your future. And even more than money, investing is a resource and foundation to building a better life.
May this month be filled with just the right touch of new life in spring, of summer and sun and smiles and passion. Of new exercises and routines with Hotworx and inspiring ways to serve the community with The Solomon Foundation. May this issue drive you and catapult you further into a life worth living and dreams built to last.
April reminds me of hope and I believe the ability to invest is an act of hope, of planting seeds in anticipation for growth. From medical stories of healing and restoration with Parker Integrative Health to deep restorative sleep with Snooze Mattress Company, let's plant seeds together and grow in our already flourishing community.
There is hope for a healthier, happier, better, stronger you. All you have to do is keep going. Keep taking steps. Keep building. Keep investing. It takes grit and hard work, but you've got this.
We believe in you!

“We’ve noticed important conversations being had about culture and identity and how that can translate to food,” says MHAFW Founder Joanne Liu. “As the organizing team got together to discuss the future of MHAFW, we realized that AANHPI chefs have a wide range of culinary experiences that can be an amalgamation of influences, so we wanted to make sure that the food week is reflective of those experiences.”

“I felt like I was losing my son,” Jennifer Dutilly describes the terrifying feeling she had when her son was diagnosed with ADHD. “He was starting to become nonverbal. He felt like he couldn’t stand in front of a classroom or talk or even ask his teacher anything.”
She ended up taking him to Parker Integrative Health where they began brain mapping. After about 20 visits she says, “It was really amazing to see a visual of what his brain was doing when he was doing certain activities. They had it so pinpointed to the certain waves in his brain that needed to be worked on, that it completely changed his life.”
Now, her son is 11 years old with a 3.4 GPA and the confidence to speak up in class once more.
“As a patient, there’s a very warm feeling when you walk in the office. You’re immediately greeted,” Jennifer shares.
Dr. Paola Porrone, DC, BCN, CFMP, FIBFN-CND, Licensed Chiropractor loves the brain and neuro system. She and her husband, Dr. Robert Birch, DC, CCEP, BCIM, CFMP built Parker Integrative Health from the ground up 20 years ago by knocking
on doors. Their office now specializes in chiropractic care, neurofeedback and regenerative medicine. This three-pronged approach addresses aspects for patients physically, neurologically and metabolically.
“The biggest thing is number one, there’s always hope. If you’ve been told you have to have a surgery or you have to do this or you have to live with this, we’re not comfortable with that. We’re going to do everything we can to find a solution for you,” Dr. Paola emphasizes the motivation behind their practice.
They believe in serving their patients in a way that helps advocate for their health. At every turn, Dr. Paola believes that hope rests within the phrase, “we can try.” This is one of the biggest reasons Jennifer returned to them in 2023 due to her own medical needs.
“I was diagnosed in November 2023 with stage 2 breast cancer. And I immediately thought of this clinic. I thought, I need to sit down and completely redo my nutrition. When you hear a cancer diagnosis, everything feels out of your control and so much information is thrown at you.” She shares, “I just thought, this is the first place I wanted to land. So, immediately Dr. Paola got me set up with nutrition.”
“From there, I was able to have a double mastectomy and get rid of all my cancer, so I was lucky in that regard. But what came with that was five reconstruction surgeries that were super tough. Each time you have anesthesia, it takes 12 months for it to get out of your body and I had five surgeries last year in 2024.”
Jennifer shares that Parker Integrative Health was an amazing complement to her cancer treatment plan and surgery recovery. She explains, “They really worked with therapies, supplements, nutrition, making sure I was in alignment, really helping me regain my body again… they fine tuned it for me. It wasn’t a cookie-cutter approach to medicine. It was a very individualized process and journey that they were willing to work with.”
That is what gave Jennifer the passion to work at Parker Integrative Health where she now is the Director of Clinical Growth. She and Dr. Paola also describe how intuitive Dr. Robert is within his practice. Dr. Paola says, “He sees, hears and feels everything!”
Dr. Paola is an explorer of medicine and recovery. “We just keep discovering new things, educating ourselves.” Just to highlight a few, Parker Integrative Health provides decompression, PEMF therapy, shockwave therapy, and neurofeedback. Their approach is holistic and comprehensive. To book a consultation call 303.841.9565 or visit ParkerIntegrativeHealth.com
IMPROVE YOUR WELLNESS WITH THE RIGHT MATTRESS AT SNOOZE

“We do things a little differently at Snooze. Instead of coming in and laying on every rectangle in the store, we use technology to help you find the right mattress,” Owner of Snooze Mattress Company in Castle Rock and Parker, Keith Chambers talks about their pressure mapping system. “It has 1,700 pressure sensors in it. When you lay down on it, it takes a map
of your body. Based on the pressure that you put down on the mattress, it takes a measurement and then runs an algorithm that makes a recommendation for spinal alignment and for comfort,” he shares.
With 30 years of experience in healthcare running ambulatory surgery centers, Keith has a passion to help and serve his clientele.
“Our goal is to get people into deep restorative sleep and improve their lives,” he says. “Another thing that has been a big game changer is the adjustable base… You can raise your head up or your feet up. Just raising your head sixty-eight degrees takes ten to fifteen pounds of pressure off your head and sinus. Raising your feet up eight to ten degrees takes fifteen percent of pressure off your low back, feet and spine.”
Keith and his wife Bobbi talk about the importance of sleep. Keith explains, “Deep restorative sleep is about spinal alignment. Our backs are curved, but we tend to sleep flat. Whereas if you raise your feet and head up it aligns your spine better.”
Bobbi also talks about how, “You have to follow and listen to your body. When you’re waking up sore, when you’re waking up not rested. It’s like, what do you gotta do to figure this out?”
Their mission is to bring a solution to help people sleep better, to improve their lives and live without pain.
“This is a sleep shop, not just a mattress store… We don’t call our employees sales associates, we call them sleep coaches,” Keith remarks. It’s all about discovering what fits best for each client.
With white-glove delivery, 90 to 120 day comfort trial periods and 10 to 25 year guarantees, depending on the mattress, Keith and Bobbi run Snooze Mattress Company with high integrity, transparency and honesty.
“Our goal is to get people into deep restorative sleep and improve their lives.”
As members of both Chambers of Commerce in Parker and Castle Rock, they also prioritize community involvement. Both family and community are important to them.

From someone with 20 years as a certified fitness instructor who understands the importance of exercise for physical and mental health benefits, talking with Amy Nicholas, owner of Hotworx in Parker, felt like collaborating with a friend. The new year brings endeavors of making health a priority, and the commitment is worth it.
“A lot of people, especially this time of year, are trying to get back on a health journey,” Amy explains. “One of the things that we try to talk to people about is the benefit of the infrared, and that’s what really sets us apart.”
Hotworx, a 24-hour infrared fitness studio, houses multiple saunas for high-intensity interval training (HIIT), pilates, yoga and more via virtual instructors. The HIIT saunas hold up to three people and contain rowers or bikes for those seeking interval training, while the smaller saunas allow for yoga, pilates and isometric workouts. All contain non-ionizing infrared radiation to promote building and repairing cells.
“Non-ionizing [infrared] helps repair your cells and keep them safe, whereas ionizing actually pulls out the atoms and destroys your cells,” Amy explains. “If you’re getting an x-ray, for example, that’s an ionizing type of radiation, so that’s why you can’t do it

very often. This is the opposite of that. It’s going to help build and repair your cells so in turn, while you’re working out, your body is actively healing itself.”
Amy notes that the people who come to Hotworx to invest in their health are most successful when they understand the benefits of infrared radiation on the body. In addition to re-building cells, it reduces inflammation throughout joints and promotes better gut health.
“It [infrared] helps reduce inflammation for your joints, but then also in your gut,” Amy says. “And a lot of health issues stem from gut problems.” She explains how the isometric movements involve twisting and holding positions, which help release harmful toxins and increase overall health.
While Hotworx’s infrared saunas set them apart, they also have a massive space for weight lifting that customers utilize every day. The variety of workouts gives people multiple options suited to their needs and wants, helping them find joy in their health investment.
“For myself,” Amy explains, “I’ll rotate… I always try to do a HIIT, but sometimes I’ll do a couple of HIITs in a row and then do some weight lifting for more of the strength training. Then, the next day, I’ll do a stretch or a yoga.”
Hotworx offers family plans, and kids as young as 12 can participate and receive the benefits of exercise. Investing in health starts young, building habits that will benefit people for years to come.

Growth requires trust. Everything, from relationships to your money, needs a safe place to thrive. At Seed Money Consulting, Shahab Maslehati and his team provide the education, expertise and environment to help clients build successful businesses and financial portfolios. The firm’s name reflects the idea that, much like seeds, finances and entrepreneurial ventures may start small but have unlimited growth potential with the right care.
The early years determine whether a vulnerable seed gets crushed under pressure or grows into a flourishing tree that provides shelter and sustenance. Similarly, if someone stewards their finances well from the start, they can build a lasting legacy. As Warren Buffet said, “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” We sat down with Shahab to get his perspective on trust and its implications on how we manage our money.
WHAT DOES TRUST MEAN TO YOU, AND WHY IS HAVING A TRUSTED FINANCIAL ADVISOR IMPORTANT?
An old bank examiner once told me, “Trust, but verify.” Trust should be central but never blindly given. You have to understand a financial advisor’s model and background to ensure what they’re saying makes sense. If it doesn’t, ask more questions.
Also, identify potential conflicts of interest. At Seed Money Consulting, we don’t sell products, and we don’t have trading fees. Instead, we operate with flat fees for everything we do. This way, there’s no incentive for us to stir the pot, and everything is completely transparent.
WHAT KEY QUALITIES SHOULD SOMEONE LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A FINANCIAL ADVISOR, TAX ADVISOR AND/OR BUSINESS CONSULTANT?
One, you need to have a personality match. You should feel comfortable talking to your advisor, whether it’s discussing
how much you’re paying them or understanding the level of access you have to them. All of your basic questions should be answered upfront. You should be able to ask, “What’s our plan of attack here?” and get a well-defined answer.
They should also be adaptable. Their process should include stress testing–not just model-driven, but also practical, common-sense scenarios. For example, if you were to move to Europe, what would that look like for your finances? The combination of software tools and the advisor’s approach should allow you to calculate potential outcomes.
Finally, it’s important to find a place where you can grow. At Seed Money Consulting, we offer business consulting, tax planning and financial planning. We streamlined a traditionally independent process where you have to talk to three different people to get one thing done. In reality, all those people should be communicating with each other. There’s a significant benefit to having everything under one roof, all in-house. CONTINUED >
We have clients who have been with us for almost ten years. We’ve helped them grow their businesses, protect them through challenges like the pandemic and navigate all the life changes that come along the way— whether it’s managing family matters, taxes, or other financial planning needs.
“I LOVE SEEING OUR CLIENTS SMILE FROM EAR-TO-EAR AND BE EMPOWERED TO TAKE THEIR LIVES INTO THEIR OWN HANDS. IT'S EXCITING TO HELP PEOPLE SOLVE A PROBLEM AND PURSUE WHATEVER MAKES THEM SMILE.”
WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO WHAT YOU DO?
It’s just fun to help people! I love seeing our clients smile from ear to ear and be empowered to take their lives into their own hands, whether it’s their career or otherwise. It’s exciting to help people solve a problem and pursue whatever it is that makes them smile.
One client that comes to mind operates a snow removal business. The owner was working for someone else before deciding to go out on his own. He took the plunge, and now the business has grown so much that we’re talking about seven-figure revenue!
WHAT ROLE DOES TRUST PLAY IN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOU AND A CLIENT?
When you invest in a relationship, it grows. You have to have a system that allows you to be as close to somebody as possible. You can’t be them, obviously, but you could be as close as you can so that you act in their best interests at all times. That means getting rid of those conflicts of interest.

The winds of change are bringing new energy to The Solomon Foundation (TSF), a cherished part of the Parker community since 2010. With excitement in the air, the nonprofit is preparing to welcome a fresh face to the helm. Josh Means officially stepped into the CEO role on March 31, 2025, following in the footsteps of founding CEO Doug Crozier.
TSF is more than just a financial organization, it’s a movement. A mission-driven partner to churches, TSF helps them flourish through investment opportunities and faith-centered funding solutions. Nestled at the corner of Jordan Road and Pine Lane, just across from Southeast Christian Church, TSF has left an indelible mark on churches nationwide. While their financial growth is remarkable—rising to over $1.25 billion in total assets—their true success lies in the lives they’ve touched, with partner churches baptizing over 110,000 people and welcoming 225,000 worshippers every Sunday.
Doug Crozier’s vision and unwavering faith have guided TSF since day one. Under his leadership, TSF has become the fastest-growing church extension fund in the nation, attracting more than 7,300 investors and funding over 800 churches. Now, as he transitions into his new role as CEO emeritus, he’s confident the future of TSF is bright.
“When we set out to find the next CEO, we knew we needed someone who wasn’t just qualified, but the right person for the job,” said Mike Nave, chairman of TSF’s board of directors. “Josh Means is exactly that person.”
Josh brings an impressive track record, blending financial expertise with a heart for ministry. He holds a degree in business and organizational leadership from Southern Nazarene University and attended Southern Methodist University’s graduate school of banking. His career spans corporate banking and faith-based financial leadership, making him uniquely suited to lead TSF into the future.
But Josh isn’t just a numbers guy—he’s a man of deep faith and strong family values. Raised in a household where faith was the foundation for four generations, he understands TSF’s mission on a personal level. He and his wife, Erin—a dentist in Sedalia, Mo.—share the joys of raising five children.
As he steps into this role, Josh is eager to build on the strong foundation Doug has laid while bringing fresh ideas and innovation to TSF. His vision is one of continued growth, stronger partnerships, and an ever-expanding impact. TSF will remain a pillar of the Parker community, offering a home to vital nonprofit ministries. Their headquarters—The Solomon Centre— houses nine nonprofit organizations, including a 26,000-square-foot food pantry, Christian counseling services and faith-based initiatives. With the recent addition of a 27,000-squarefoot office space, TSF is positioned for even greater impact.
Doug, who will remain actively involved in fostering relationships with churches and investors, couldn’t be more excited about the future.
“It’s been an incredible journey growing The Solomon Foundation into what it is today, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead with Josh at the helm,” Doug shares. “His vision and passion for growing God’s Kingdom make him the perfect person to take us forward.”
As TSF embarks on this next chapter, one thing is clear: its commitment to helping churches thrive and communities flourish remains as strong as ever. With Josh at the wheel and Doug continuing to provide guidance, the road ahead is paved with faith, purpose and boundless opportunity.

When I first saw these shadows across this open area, they seemed to tell a story, but I didn’t know what story they were telling. All I knew was that the shadows were not dark or overwhelming in any way because light shone between them. It seemed like it was okay to be engulfed with these shadows. It wasn’t scary because of the light nudging through. This mysterious dynamic moved me to paint this scene, and I wanted to encapsulate those same feelings in the painting.
