Hello Friends

Sue G. Collins | SCollins@LifestylePubs.com
“Be a good helper,” my mom would call as I headed out the door to a friend’s house when I was little. I cleared dinner tables, made beds, carried in bats and balls and put away bikes. I guess that’s what she meant. Now, I hear her voice and it’s a reminder to do more, think bigger and help however I can in my little world. The four men we are pleased to introduce to you in this issue do that without being asked. In our men’s issue, we wanted to honor their style for giving and share their stories. Zack Noles lives in Sandy Springs and works at Northside Hospital. His solid foundation of giving comes from his family, too, and he gracefully thanks his parents on page 20. Now that’s style! Speaking of style and fashion, the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber and Women’s Business Network are hosting Day Into Night, a fashion show on June 10 to benefit The Drake Closet. The Drake House provides short-term crisis housing, assessment, support and empowerment to homeless mothers and their children in the North Fulton area. Drop off new and gently worn women’s clothing at Nothing Bundt Cakes, Act3Production or the SSPChamber by June 9. Call 678.443.2990 for more info.

Around Town RECLAIMED TEAK FROM THAILAND New for 2014, Atlanta Teak Furniture is importing reclaimed teak dining sets from Thailand. In the global effort to recycle materials, it has become popular in many countries to reuse large pieces of wood from old homes, barns and railroads. In the states, you may see new items made from pine, poplar or other reclaimed native woods. Decades ago in Thailand, where teak is native and Atlanta Teak Furniture gets all its products, these old structures were made from the finest teak in the world. Today, these new dining sets are made from reclaimed teak from all over Thailand. Teak remains the premier wood for outdoor furniture and these tables and benches will last a lifetime and provide a unique and rustic look to any outdoor environment. AtlantaTeak.com. 678.429.2814

SLOW AGING You’ve heard it said that it is good to have a glass of wine each night before bed. It is not the alcohol that is good for you but the resveratrol. Resveratrol is an antioxidant found in the skin of grapes. The fine people at Shaklee’s say that one teaspoon of Shaklee’s Vivix® has the equivalent amount of resveratrol found in 30 glasses of wine. Shaklee promises their patented formula slows aging at the cellular level and is the preferred solution of over 100 Olympic medalists due to its all-natural properties. For the Love of Sauce GET TO KNOW ATLANTA'S FIREBUD BRANDS ARTICLE LAURA CARSON MILLER | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
F
or native Atlantan and Buckhead resident Michael McCord, all roads happily lead to barbecue. After graduating from Lovett in 2001, it was off to college, and his signature sauce, called Slap, was born out the need for the perfect accompaniment to the whole hog he and his buddies were roasting for a huge college tailgate party. How dare some people say college is a waste of time or money! Fast forward to the present, when Firebud Brand’s Slap and Salvation Sauces are carried in four Savi Markets, eight metro Whole Foods, five Cook’s Warehouse locations, Lucy’s Market, The Viking Store, Nuts N’ Berries and Onward Reserve. The company’s sauce products, Slap Sauce and Alabama Salvation Sauce, are distinctively different while being equally delicious. “We, as Atlantans, are not known for a specific type of barbecue,” McCord offers. “This is probably due to the high number of transplants and our “too busy to care” mind set. We are able to pick and choose from the best and whatever we enjoy the most. The barbecue purists out there have their own opinions and will gladly share theirs with you. They are passionate and I respect that. Any tradition as strong as barbecue will have its rivalries. It’s the same in any arena: Coke-Pepsi beverages, Auburn-Alabama football, Apple-Android operating systems or Home Depot-Lowes home improvement stores. I for one am just glad we have options.”
12 PerimeterNorthLifestyle.com | June 2014
McCord says the inspiration for Slap Sauce was to combine his two favorite barbecue sauces: the Eastern North Carolina vinegar sauce and the South Carolina mustard. “I believe we have created the perfect hybrid of the two,” he says. “For Alabama Salvation Sauce, it was to keep going down this unique barbecue path and bring this regional north Alabama sauce to the masses. Everyone has a red sauce they prefer, some even make their own at home, but a mayonnaise-based sauce with fresh horseradish and lemon? It truly is one of a kind.” You won’t be surprised to learn that Firebud Brands products are award winning, too. “Receiving the 2014 Award of Excellence from the National Barbecue Association was awesome,” says a proud McCord. “It gave some validity to what we already knew: we have a quality product made with superior ingredients. With over 700 entrants this year, it was humbling and inspiring.” Writer’s note: These sauces are also fantastic on foods other than just barbecue! My husband loves Salvation Sauce with a juicy ribeye, and Slap Sauce is wonderful with fish. I marinate salmon in Slap Sauce, then shake on some Firebud Brands Body Buzz Rub, in stores May 1, grill and enjoy. Body Buzz Rub will truly amp up the flavor of a simple green salad as well; top with a splash of oil and vinegar. And Slap Sauce is equally awesome on a fish taco. Trust me.

WWII Heroes Honored for D-Day Anniversary ARTICLE RUKSANA HUSSAIN | PHOTOGRAPHY J KING IMAGES
T
he 70th anniversary of D-Day on June 6th will be celebrated by many, but one group in Atlanta is doing something different to honor the occasion. “This is a project that is near and dear to my heart,” says Harriet P. Adams, a member of the Buckhead Bomber Girls – a group of women volunteers who are committed to preserving the stories of World War II heroes. Their mission is simple: honor the heroes of the “Greatest Generation.” The group is recognizing WWII, Vietnam and Korean veterans that reside in Atlanta by creating an 18-month calendar for 20142015. The idea centers on veteran war pilots and their most prized possession: their bomber jackets. The intricate artwork on the jackets is special to their owners, signifying not only the accomplishments of their missions but also transporting them back to a time only they know of best. Several group members as well as veterans’ families highlighted in the calendar are from the Perimeter area. Each month features the daughter or granddaughter of an Atlanta veteran wearing his bomber jacket. The photographs are vibrant and powerful, telling an amazing story of heroism and character. Most of the images have been shot across aviation-related venues like airports and hangars predominantly in Georgia but also in locations across the country. 14 PerimeterNorthLifestyle.com | June 2014
For Harriet, heading this effort has been a rewarding exercise especially since a call for applicants to feature in the calendar yielded 60 responses and growing – three times more than what she had anticipated. The owner of a physical therapy practice in several locations across Atlanta including the Perimeter area, Harriet found her inspiration in her own clients – the veterans she sees every week at work. “I had this idea to create a calendar like no other as it is filled with stories of remarkable acts of heroism by mere 18-yearold boys,” she explains. “Many of these veterans have been my physical therapy patients and have reminded me of my foundation. My father was a JAG so I grew up with awareness of the air force and huge respect for the military, knowing that our freedom was not free. Honoring them was ingrained in my mind since I was a child.” The calendar will be FACEBOOK - Facebook.com/ released on the 70th BuckheadBomberGirls anniversary of D-Day, DONATIONS - MightyEighth.org/ June 6, to pay tribute buckhead-bomber-girls-calento these men and their dar-donations/

sacrifices. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar go directly to The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force located near Savannah, where Harriet serves on the Board of the Trustees. Deemed one of the world’s most powerful museum experiences as it honors the Mighty Eighth’s proud legacy, the museum preserves the stories of courage, character and patriotism displayed by the men and women of the Eighth Air Force from World War II to present. Funds raised through sales of the calendar will help preserve these stories of heroism for future generations. No amount is too small or too grand, and local corporate sponsors as well as personal donations are welcome. A Kickstarter initiative to crowdsource the project resulted in full funding earlier in the year but much more has to be accomplished. “Our biggest challenge is that our heroes are in their 90s,” says Harriet. “Time is precious. This funding will help the project move along more quickly and it will help us preserve the legacy of these true American heroes.” If you know of a veteran or their family that would like to participate in this effort, or a retail store that would like to showcase the calendar once it is printed, Harriet welcomes all information. Future plans include a tabletop book featuring the images as well as displaying the artwork at museums locally.

You will itch that scratch you didn’t know you had for being outdoors, committing to a serious stroll through the town’s 300 historically designated acres, rambling coastal trails of the many neighboring protected sea islands and finding new ways to explore the waterways that surrounds the city founded in 1711.With postcard views of the Beaufort River dotted with working shrimp boats heading out around the barrier islands, soft marshes where inter-coastal kayakers and paddle boarders play and of cobbled streets lined with pre-Civil War homesteads, Beaufort will keep you engaged from the moment you arrive after your short The author gets a land paddling lesson from Tim Lovett of Higher four-hour drive from Atlanta. RX350 that cradled me in V6 comfort, thank you very much!) Beaufort has more antebellum homes than its more tourist crazed South Carolina sister city, Charleston, 70 miles up the coast. The Beaufort Visitor Center offers up a map for a self-guided walking (or biking) tour of some 27 homes build as early as 1717 (this one also served as a private school for boys in the 1800s and is beautifully maintained today). Or, climb aboard a horse-drawn buggy with The Sea Island Carriage Co. and if you’re lucky, your guide and driver will be Debbie who will point out where movies were filmed, where history was made and how special the Angle Oak trees are that bend to the ground and grow high again from the sandy soil. Local outdoorsman Tim Lovett at Higher Ground Outfitters will get you kayaking through the tidal marshes, land paddling (long skate board + a stubby paddle = tons of fun) along the newly paved rail-to-

We were joined by dolphins, working shrimp boats and small leisure boats as we paddled out from Waterfront Park downtown and into the Beaufort River early one misty morning. Hunting Island State Park across the bridge is another quiet giant, with 5,000 acres of marsh, maritime forest, saltwater lagoons and four miles of sandy beaches where the Friends of Hunting Island (850 volunteers) guard up to 100 loggerhead sea turtles’ nests then hatchlings each spring, logging some 7,000 hours of beach babysitting time. The bubbly Bonnie Wright is a retired board member and lovingly guided me through the lively visitors center, nearby educational nature center where you can borrow fishing tackle on the pier and a statuesque lighthouse built in 1873 -- the only one open to the public in the state -- where I climbed what seemed like a hundred spiral steps to the top and was rewarded with a view of the coastline and a canopy of Cabbage Palmetto, Slash Pines, Longleaf Pines, Live Oaks and more that make up the island’s four climate zones. Hunting Island is beautifully maintained, dog-friendly, and mostly hand-
icap accessible from the campground to the vegetables. The Old Bull Tavern feels like a 12 miles of designated trails. e at Lifestyle Publications believe in the power of community. We know you do, too, and want to introduce you to a few of our neighbors who believe that building a community and building a meaningful life go hand in hand.
Meet Michael Guynn of Dunwoody FAMILY: Jennifer Guynn, Grace (16), Caroline (15) Henry (12) DAY JOB: Guynn Properties, Inc., a real estate development, investment and consulting company formed in 1999 with a main focus on acquisition of land tracts for development into residential lots to sell to local and national builders. Also actively engaged in consulting for distressed/investment deals, brokerage and third party construction and project management. Began career at Technology Park/Atlanta, Inc. working in various capacities on master planned commercial projects Johns Creek and Lenox Park in Buckhead. WHERE I GIVE: My current volunteer activities center on my children’s schools (St. Jude and St Pius), their activities and our church, St. Jude the Apostle Catholic, in Sandy Springs. I currently serve on the Finance Board for St Jude the Apostle Catholic School and Board of the Men’s Club for the parish. I focus on these two groups as it allows me to have a direct impact on the operations, planning and success for the overall community. I also enjoy chaperoning retreats and bus driving 18 PerimeterNorthLifestyle.com | June 2014
for my children’s classes activities, as it gives me a chance to help reinforce a positive message for the kids and our community. We are blessed to have actively engaged parents, teachers and administrators at both schools that give so much of their time and talents. Our family will also make their first mission trip this summer, going to Nicaragua through Amigos for Christ. Other places I have volunteered have been Furman University Alumni Board, Boys and Girls Club Board, Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful Board and various other coaching and community roles. I also help behind the scenes on my wife
Jennifer’s non-profit, Pebble Tossers, Inc., which just celebrated it’s 5th birthday! ONE GIVING MOMENT: It is tough to narrow down my experiences to one memory. The work of the Gwinnett Boys and Girls Club opening a new Club in Norcross and teen centers in Norcross and Lawrenceville during my time on the Board was special, as it made a direct and measurable impact on those communities. I felt fortunate to be a part of special group of people, including the Board, volunteers, community partners and donors.
Meet Jared Kirschner of Sandy Springs FAMILY: Wife, Brandy Kirschner DAY JOB: Sports Marketing Consultant at Octagon WHERE I GIVE: Like many, I have a soft spot for kids and an-
imals. Through the Fragile Kids Foundation, I serve on the board to help provide medically fragile children equipment not covered by insurance. My wife, Brandy, and I hosted the 2014 gala which raised over $160,000. The donations make an incredible difference in the quality of life for so many families. Through Happy Tails Pet Therapy, my dog, Georgia, and I dedicate time at Children’s Healthcare and Egleston’s providing animal-assisted therapy to patients. The encouragement that patients and their families receive from spending time with these pets is miraculous. I have also enjoyed working with a few others including The PeyBack Foundation, founded by Peyton Manning, Breast Friends, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for female cancer patients and Keith Brooking’s Locker 56 Foundation that provides new athletic shoes for children and youth in need. ONE GIVING MOMENT: I don’t have one story or event that led to me wanting to do public service. My parents taught me that helping others was the right thing to do and not to take things for granted. It is easy to get into our daily routines and forget how fortunate we are. It often times takes very little to make a huge difference in someone else’s life.
Meet Daniel R. Lax of Dunwoody FAMILY: Single DAY JOB: Owner, Dan
Lax Media, since 2002. Specialties: Website design and management, photography and videos WHERE I GIVE: AID Atlanta (LOOP member, finance committee, photographer). For the Kid in All of Us (website design and maintenance, photographer), Joining Hearts (photographer), Jerusalem House (photographer), Voices of Note (photographer). This is my way of helping folks in our community who are dealing with illness and/or who are less fortunate than others. ONE
GIVING
MOMENT:
When the AIDS epidemic appeared in the early 1980s, no one knew what it was. Instead of treating it as a public health issue, many politicians reacted with ignorance and fear, causing lives to be lost. I remember those days very clearly. It took several years for doctors, scientists, lawyers and journalists who had come into personal contact with people who were affected to turn the tide. But HIV is still out there. And in some communities, infection rates are increasing. By volunteering and donating to organizations that help people with HIV/AIDS, I’m able to help in a small but significant manner.
Meet Zackery Noles of Sandy Springs FAMILY: Single DAY JOB: Northside Hospital, Revenue Cycle Education Specialist, 7 years. WHERE I GIVE: March of Dimes -- supports programs in our community that help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies. I was team captain because I believe in the event and I love to attend the 5K walk. I enjoy looking around, seeing all of the teams and little kids/babies with t-Shirts that say “I survived! Thank you MOD!” It really makes you feel great knowing that you might have helped in some way to save a life. Also for the March of Dimes, CONTINUED >

I was a team captain for the project, Fundraise through Jeans at the Office, have hosted fundraising Breakfasts & Bake Sales, and sold Northside Hospital March of Babies T-Shirts. United Way -- United Way Ambassador – host breakfast rally and collect donations through payroll deduction. Northside Hospital’s Shares Help Program, including a United Way Rally. Children’s Restoration Network’s 12 Days of Caring (team captain) -- Collect gifts for 260+ homeless children in Atlanta. Children’s Restoration Network Back 2 School (team captain) -- Collect 400+ book bags filled with supplies for homeless children. ONE GIVING MOMENT: Growing up, my parents were always the ones to give generously to someone, whether family, friends or strangers. It’s really hard to name one story that sticks out because there are so many to tell. Every year around Christmas, my parents would always try and find a needy family that was unable to celebrate Christmas due to financial difficulties. I remember going out to buy clothes and toys for the families and it was always so much fun to purchase that one special gift that the children really wanted. The shopping alone was a family bonding experience I’ll never forget. The best part is the way it makes me feel just being able to help those less fortunate and make someone else smile. I still carry on this tradition from a memory that I had from childhood and will continue to do so as long as I can. I owe it all to a great childhood. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

Tartar build up and tooth decay make way for gingivitis and periodontal disease, which can allow harmful oral bacteria to make its way into the bloodstream to other vital areas of the body. f men and women had a battle of the sexes that focused on health and wellness, women would likely win. Women are wise to focus on health—it is the defining factor in determining the length and quality of life. Drawing on the wisdom of the fairer sex, in recent years men have been paying more and more attention to their own health and wellness. If you are a man, or have a man in your life who has been neglecting his health for too long, there is no time like the present—especially with the summer sun and bathing suit season upon us. For some insights into men’s health, we turned not to two of the area’s most trusted professional providers: Dr. Anne-Marie Campbell, of Compass Family Chiropractic and the folks at Atlanta Dental Spa. Now is the time to improve your health and enhance the way you look and feel— inside and out!

ing periodontal disease, your risk for heart attack and stroke decreases. Hygienists start oral wellness visits (routine cleanings) with a blood pressure check at Atlanta Dental Spa. If any abnormalities are present, they look for various contributing factors to inflammation in the gums–a causative factor seen in heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease–using blood and oral DNA testing. BLOOD TESTING AT THE DENTIST: Blood test-
ing shows inflammatory markers in the dental chair that most physicians routinely don't check for. Inflammatory markers look for systemic inflammation throughout the body and include LpPlac2, hsCRP, and A1-C levels. LIFESTYLE FACTORS: Dentists should take an in-depth look into lifestyle factors that contribute to oral and systemic health. The folks at Atlanta Dental Spa take time to learn how patients are managing stress, diet, exercise, and sleep in addition to regular oral hygiene, or home care. All of these lifestyle factors affect the health of the mouth, and ultimately
test that provides a microscopic look at the bacteria levels in the mouth as well as a glimpse into the DNA that can predict predisposition for periodontal disease.
Turning to the whole body, Dr. Anne-Marie Campbell of Compass Family Chiropractic suggests we think like an emergency medic would at the scene of a critical accident and you will automatically have a perfect formula on what to take care of to live a more ferocious life of fitness. “The first things that a triage specialist looks for at the scene of an accident are: spinal cord trauma, blocked airways, loss of body fluid- hemorrhaging blood or dehydration, and any other forms of shock-including, but not limited to, abnormal blood sugar levels,” she said. The question is: how do we care for our vital needs while enhancing physical performance? The answer is easy: with a basic understanding of physiology. The nervous system controls and coordinates every other system, muscle, organ, tissue, and cell in the body. For optimal function, you need an optimally functioning nervous system. Chiropractors check elite athletes before and after competitions so they will perform at the top of their game and be able to heal and recover more quickly. You should get checked by a chiropractor for optimal neurological function, not just so you are surviving or living without pain, but to live a life full of vitality, allowing you to play and perform at your best. Understanding the crucial role of the central nervous system in how the rest of our body

functions, people begin to realize, for example, how low back pain and/or numbness and tingling down the leg may be concurrent with disorders of the digestive, reproductive, and urinary systems. Men with erectile dysfunction have sought out chiropractic care for their low back pain, and much to their surprise, after being under specific, neurologically based chiropractic care, their back pain not only subsides, but their erectile dysfunction improves. “This is not to say that chiropractors treat erectile dysfunction, we specialize in detecting and correcting neurological interruptions, so that people can fully express life as they were intended,” Campbell said. With a misaligned spine, even things you may think are good for you like a workout plan, can be contributing to a problem or causing a problem to occur later on in life. Here are a few tips to keep a strong, healthy spine:

Why Death Becomes Her AMERICAN AFTERLIFE: ENCOUNTERS IN THE CUSTOMS OF MOURNING ARTICLE RHIANNON BANKES PHOTOGRAPHY KAYLINN GILSTRAP
W
hat originally began as a graduate thesis to explore why death dually fascinates and terrifies most Americans, eventually became the book American Afterlife: Encounters in the Customs of Mourning. Atlantan Kate Sweeney was a fan of the HBO series, Six Feet Under, and found herself intrigued with alternative burials, as well as the Victorian memorial traditions of visiting cemeteries when courting, photographing the dead, and creating memorial jewelry incorporating the deceased’s hair. She found that memorial photography was so popular at the end of the 19th century, not because of morbid fascination, but because photography was a new technology and someone having their picture taken was rare. Family members chose to have photos made of their dead relative because that person may have never had their photograph taken while they were alive. As for memorial jewelry, the prevalence was more sentimental than factual. The hair of the deceased was woven into bracelet chains, earrings, wreaths—even purses and tiaras. Hundreds of years before Pinterest, Sweeney recognizes that Victorian women’s magazines featured vexingly difficult craft projects featuring hair. While the book covers past customs, it also sheds light on changing trends. It is no longer true that cemeteries are the only option for the dead. The rate of cemetery alternatives is rising and The Cremation Association of North America predicts cremation will outpace traditional whole-body burial by 2017. Other options are green burials, which means no metal casket fixtures or embalming f luids are used. Or, the deceased can choose to be up-cycled to become any variety of gems, ink drawings, plant mulch, artificial coral reefs, fireworks or vinyl records. Wanting to satisfy her own curiosity about death, loss and bereavement, Sweeney says she found it best to just look the phenomenon in the face to figure it out. She began interviewing obituary writers, funeral home owners and a multitude of people involved in the business of death. Sweeney traveled to New Mexico, Minnesota, Illinois and South Carolina to visit 26 PerimeterNorthLifestyle.com | June 2014
the National Funeral Director Association headquarters, the Museum of Funeral Customs, attend the 10th Great Obituarist Conference, and participate in an artificial reef burial. She researched and visited Atlanta’s Oakland Cemetery, and spoke with officials about roadside memorial regulations, online sellers of cremation urns, chaplains, a memorial tattoo artist, and a volunteer memorial photographer. After meeting a volunteer photographer who takes photos of stillborn infants she had a revelation and her focus shifted from, “Why were the Victorians so death-obsessed?” to “What is our relationship to death now,” and “Are we a little alienated from it?” This book explores how we memorialize our dead, where these practices came from, and what this says about us.“This is a book that’s equally about death and life. They’re just two sides of the same coin,” says Sweeney. Kate Sweeney teaches workshops for creative writing and is the NPR Affiliate Producer responsible for the bimonthly non-fiction reading series, True Story, on WABE 90.1 FM. Her award winning writing (three Edward R. Murrow awards plus several from the Associated Press) has been featured in an assortment of local and national magazines. American Afterlife: Encounters in the Customs of Mourning releases March 15 from University of Georgia Press. For more information visit AmericanAfterlifeBook.com

What My Dad Taught Me WORDS SUE GAY SPARLING COLLINS
M
y dad would talk to anyone. He liked people and was curious about them. Sometimes his friendliness would lead to an interesting conversation, other times his seemingly random questioning about the world would lead to my mom’s headaches. I found him to be entertaining. That wasn’t always the case, though. When I was younger, I was often embarrassed when he would strike up a conversation with the guy pumping gas, a teacher we happened to meet at the burger place or the artist tending to his palette and canvas at the beach. I mean really. These people didn’t really want to talk to a bouncing bald blue-eyed man and his little girl. They had things to do. Years later, when we travelled to Wales together, he tagged behind a little old man sweeping the narrow street of one of the villages where we stopped. “Well hello there young man! How’re ya doin’?” The sweeper was visibly startled by the loud American and his mouth full of white teeth but answered back, “Yr wyf yn iawn diolch, sut wyt ti?”* His ability to unabashedly talk to strangers and ask for help came in handy at least twice (that I remember) when we got into trouble. Once, along a quiet country road on his piece of crap Honda 75 motorcycle and once in a troubling Lake Michigan storm on our piece of crap Hobie 16 catamaran. At first, both outings seemed like adventures, rare time for me to have dad all to myself (there were six kids in our family and he worked a lot 34 PerimeterNorthLifestyle.com | June 2014
owning his own business, a job shop near Detroit that served the automotive industry). When the bike broke down (seemingly) in the middle of nowhere, Dad and I walked to the first little house we could find and he confidently walked right up the driveway, rang the doorbell and asked to use the phone. I think one of my brothers rescued us, but not before that nice lady invited us in, made us hot chocolate and sat us at her kitchen table for a chat. That was a long time ago before cell phones and ax murderers. When our Hobie turtled in a sudden summer storm and the sail ripped to shreds, we swam the boat into the beach and again, Dad spotted a house with the lights on and in minutes I had a towel around me and a piece of homemade cherry pie in front of me. Mom collected us that time, not at all amused by our adventure or Dad’s ability to talk a stranger into inviting us into her home. We lost Bob Sparling to lung cancer in 1999 but my dad’s gregarious and cheerful spirit fills me with optimism every day. Now, I’m afraid my kids are the ones unamused by their mother’s occasional inclination to strike up a conversation with a stranger. Thank you very much, Dad. Happy Fathers Day. *thank you, Google Translator
