Women Who Inspire Us

I

love reading biographies about women like Rosa Parks, Corrie Ten Boom, Helen Keller, Mother Teresa…They provide such inspiration for us all as we aspire to greatness, just like them. This month we celebrate the women in our own city who inspire us. The strongest and most influential woman in my life is my mom. She instilled confidence and appreciation of beauty into me, causing me to embrace life to its fullest. She is truly my best friend. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom, and to all our mothers. Our team had the honor of meeting two important Paradise Valley women for this issue: Christine Jones and Mary Hamway. These two women have hearts to see our city prosper and give back to what they believe to be the greatest place to live on earth. Christine Jones shared with us three compelling statements that she also shares whenever she speaks in public: • Stop talking about it and just do it • People treat you the way you let them treat you • Do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do

Congratulations to Chef Tarbell, this year marks 20 years from when “Tarbell’s” first opened its doors. This award-winning chef and restaurant owner is featured in this month’s Hot Spot. Fun Fact: you will learn as I did that Chef Tarbell has many talents. He proved this when he won “Best Celebrity Dancer” on our local Dancing with the Stars in 2010. Have fun reading this month’s issue. It was a blast to create, as always. Be inspired by the women in your life and make a difference in others.

A Family Boutique in Two States COLORADO’S CASHMERE AND COCO MAKES ITS ARIZONA DEBUT ARTICLE KATHEEN BLAIR | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

A

s you walk down the main corridor at the Biltmore Fashion Park, you will see a new kid on the block. Cashmere and Coco made its Arizona debut in February of this year. A high end boutique featuring fashion and home accessories with brands like 7 For All Mankind, Free People, Hudson, Splendid, Joie and Everly dress the racks. Owner Jeanne Lueders never planned to open a boutique. She previously owned a golf business with her husband. But in November of 2012, she opened Lilly with the nudging of her daughter, Ann Csincsak. Ann and her husband, Jesse, were boutique owners in Breckenridge, Colo., at the time. They opened Cashmere and Coco, combining two favorites - fashion and candy. It proved to be a successful venture and two years later they took their store to Vail, and became the only clothing store in Vail Village. “Ann was born with a fashion sense, she knows what’s trendy, has a knack for style and what people want,” states Lueders. This past January, Lueders closed Lilly and opened Cashmere and Coco. This beautiful, upscale boutique which also carries Kendra Scott signature jewelry, many novelty items, a few men items, unique home accessories and wonderful lotions including the brand Lollia, found on Oprah’s favorite list. “I carry a well-rounded view of fashion and style in the stores,” states Csincsak. “It isn’t always what the latest trend is but what 14 Paradise Valley Lifestyle | May 2014

people want and will wear so I carry styles that are conservative, fun and edgy for all ages – 16 to 86.” In addition the store has a wonderful assortment of fashion accessories – belts, scarves and purses in all prices ranges as well as some fine chocolates. And, there’s a wonderful selection of items when needing to purchase that perfect gift. BUILDING YOUR WARDROBE

If you have a limited budget, spend most of your money on the basics – fitted t-shirts, pants, skirts, sweaters, jackets and a great pair of jeans. Then, add a great top and build a wardrobe around that. Incorporate a great piece of jewelry that looks good with many outfits and a wonderful handbag. By adding a couple trendy items, you can have a fashion look without it costing a lot. “Take time to accessorize - a scarf can take a plain dress and make it a statement,” suggests Csincsak. CASHMERE AND COCO The trend for spring includes the Biltmore Fashion Park maxi length but with muted palette 2502 E. Camelback Road colors of pinks, corals, browns and Phoenix, AZ 85016 yellows. In jewelry, neon colors are all CashmereandCoco.com 602.499.6791 the rage. Scarves are still fashionable, adding a nice statement to any outfit.

BACHELOR DOES MARRY BACHELORETTE

Csincsak and her husband have a wonderful yet unusual love story of how the famous reality show, The Bachelor, played match maker. Ann, a flight attendant, had moved to Los Angeles and was encouraged by a friend to audition for the show. Jesse had previously been on an earlier season of the show and was actually chosen by one of the Bachelorettes. Their relationship didn’t work out, but Jesse remained active organizing events for the past contestants. It didn’t matter that they weren’t on the same season of the show, what mattered was Jesse organized a Bachelor reunion cruise and Ann attended. After a long distance relationship, Jesse arranged a romantic proposal on an island near his hometown in Ohio and they were married in August of 2010 with a few friends from the show in their bridal party. This month Ann is ready to deliver their second child, a girl, and a sister for their son, Noah, who was born in 2012. Jesse, a retired professional snowboarder and instructor, owned a public relations and marketing company. He did weekly commentaries for STAR magazine giving a glimpse of behind-the-scenes tidbits of the show. Now, he runs a premier property management company in Colorado. Be sure to check their website for details on the official Grand Opening of Cashmere and Coco this spring.

PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER Mary Hamway hopes to put her problem solving skills to work in the Arizona House of Representatives. ARTICLE JENNIFER ADAMSON | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

H

er friends would describe her as dependable, good-natured and organized. Mary Hamway describes herself as a problem solver. “That’s what I’m good at – taking projects that have lots of pieces and trying to put them together,” she says. When she was little, Mary’s mother gave her jigsaw puzzles that she assembled with ease. Always the new kid in school, she figured out how to turn strangers into friends. As a young adult, she used

18 Paradise Valley Lifestyle | May 2014

her expertise in information technology to troubleshoot the assembly of payload bay doors on two space shuttles. Fast forward to today, and you’ll find Mary running for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives, hoping to use her reasoning skills to bring efficiency and solutions to the capitol. “I want our state government to be more responsive to the needs of our citizens,” says Mary, a conservative Republican from

Legislative District 28. “I want to be a strong advocate for cities and towns to make their own laws, because problems are best solved at the local level.” Mary knows this well. While serving as neighborhood association president shortly after her family’s move from Connecticut two decades ago, she realized a challenge facing her community in Paradise Valley and acted to bring about resolution. Rather than allow unsightly overhead utility lines to be transplanted in her development, she rallied city administrators, the electric company, local businesses, and other concerned citizens to fund burying the lines underground. “I was very proud of my neighbors for their willingness to donate money

to help,” says Mary. “That showed we wanted to be a part of the solution.” Even in her day-to-day tasks, Mary takes pride in her common-sense approach to decision making. She’s asked for a new vacuum for Mother’s Day, after all. “The sensible approach to problem solving is finding that common ground to move forward,” she says. Following the success of the community endeavor, one of Mary’s friends suggested she run for Paradise Valley Town Council. She won the election and put in eight years, three as vice mayor. While on the council, support for tourism was increased; procedures for resort development were updated; technology was added to core functions for improved efficiency; the fire department was redesigned; and two additional fire stations were built. Just like that, a politician was born.

In her bid for the House, Mary’s platforms are pro-economic growth and the development of higher-education standards. She says making progress in these areas requires a community-oriented, results-driven leader who can “put solutions ahead of ideology,” a task she believes is right up her alley given her track record of public service. One of her proudest accomplishments is the rehabilitation of Kiva Youth Sports Field. She listened to her constituents’ pleas for better playing grounds for kids’ sports and oversaw a task force of citizens that worked to make those grounds safer. The most recent project she managed was to fundraise, commission and install a bronze statue honoring The Family Circus cartoon creator Bil Keane, which can be seen at the Scottsdale McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. In addition to campaigning, Mary enjoys being an active civic volunteer. She has served as co-chair for the Town of Paradise Valley’s 50th

Anniversary Visioning Committee; sat on the board of directors for the Scottsdale Visitors and Convention Bureau; and been involved with both the Paradise Valley General Plan Advisory Committee and Paradise Valley’s Public Safety Task Force. She currently is first vice chair for the Legislative District 28 GOP. “I know how to listen and communicate, and I love working with residents,” says Mary. “This wasn’t a career path I planned, but it’s one I’m enjoying.” When she isn’t lobbying for office, you can find Mary and her husband of 29 years, Geoff (whom she met on a blind date), cheering for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Cardinals. Mary also likes to watch Downton Abbey and treat herself to facials.

Meet

Christine Jones

This successful executive wants to help Arizona prosper, too. ARTICLE BECCA MULDER | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

L

ast October Christine Jones officially announced her candidacy for governor. After 17 years of calling Arizona her home, Christine says this is a way to give back to the place she loves and has given her many wonderful opportunities. A military family, the Joneses began their journey in Arizona in 1997 when Christine’s husband, Gary, was stationed at Luke Air Force Base. “I love Arizona, and when you love something, you want it to thrive, you want it to flourish, you want it to prosper,” says Christine. “As governor, I have a plan to make that happen.”

20 Paradise Valley Lifestyle | May 2014

To name a few of Christine’s accomplishments, she holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Auburn University and a Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School. She also served as editor-in-chief of the Whittier Law Review and earned her CPA certificate in 1992. Not to mention this year Christine and Gary will be celebrating 27 years of marriage. In 2002, Christine joined GoDaddy as the company’s first attorney. At the time they only had a few dozen employees. Now more than a decade later, GoDaddy has more than 4,000 employees serving more than 10 million small businesses and entrepreneurs all over the world. “While at GoDaddy, I testified numerous times before congressional committees in Washington, D.C., about various issues related to the Internet,” Christine says. “It was my priority to establish GoDaddy as a leader in the fight to make the Internet better and safer for users, particularly children. I helped push through bills such as the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act, the Protect Our Children Act, and the Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators Act. These bills were signed into law by President Bush in October 2008 and have been used by law enforcement and others to shut down illegal online drug sellers and to prosecute online child predators.” In 2011, Christine represented GoDaddy and its founder, Bob Parsons, in the sale of a controlling interest of the company’s stock to a private equity group. The transaction, once closed on December 6, 2011, became the single largest private transaction in the history of the Internet. When asked, Christine will proudly tell you that she is a lifelong Republican, an unapologetic conservative, and a staunch defender of the Constitution. She is an evangelical Christian

and a member of the Board of Directors at Crossroads Nazarene Church. “It’s been an important goal of mine to give back to the community as much as possible,” she says. “I have been very blessed and my husband and I have had an amazing experience of living here in this great state. We are both very active in our church and I enjoy singing with my church praise team on Sunday mornings. I have mentored dozens of law students and young women who have faced some difficult challenges, some of the same challenges I had growing up the hard way, and I’ve also mentored many musicians and musical groups on the characteristics and traits that are necessary to become successful. One of the things that I enjoy the very most is helping young people achieve a dream while becoming good contributing members of society.” A day in the life of Christine Jones begins at 5 a.m. She typically finds herself catching up on local, state and national news publications. She fills her day from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with meetings with city officials then most always grabs her dinner on the go before settling down with her husband to catch up on the evening news. Finally rest for this busy woman at 12:30 a.m. Christine has the opportunity to speak often and she almost always gives the following statements of advice: 1. Stop talking about it and just do it 2. People treat you the way you let them treat you 3. Do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do Christine is dedicated to family, her Christian faith and prospering this beautiful state of Arizona. Every Day is a Grand Opening at Tarbell’s ARTICLE KATHLEEN BLAIR | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

W

hen I drove to the corner of 32nd and Camelback, I recognized the area from driving by numerous times. It’s an older neighborhood with two very popular restaurants dominating the corner. Stepping into the hip ambiance of Tarbell’s is quite an experience. I loved the décor of warm wood tones and the simplicity of the white tablecloths, a curved bar and great, colorful art on the walls. It had a comfortable, understated environment. Tarbell’s is so well thought out with separate dining areas. The bar is very large for enjoying a beverage and casual dining with small tables surrounding it. There is a quaint dining area for those wanting a more intimate dinner as well as a private room that can be rented for special occasions. FROM HOBBY TO AWARD-WINNING CHEF

Chef Tarbell grew up on the East Coast where as a kid he washed dishes in a restaurant and enjoyed watching the cooks. After being there awhile, he decided he wanted to try his hand at cooking and at age 15 he purchased his first cookbook. His passion for cooking grew and he graduated from the l’Academie du Vin and earned a Grande Diplome d’Etude Culinaire from Ecole du Cuisine La Varenne in Paris. He apprenticed at both a restaurant and a wine bar in Paris and a hotel in Amsterdam. His culinary passion now included a fondness for wine. Returning to the states Chef Tarbell started working at the Deer Valley Ski Resort in Park City, Utah. In 1986 he moved to Arizona having secured a position as the beverage manager and wine buyer at the Boulders resort where he worked for eight TARBELL’S years, seven of those as the 3213 S. Camelback Road food and beverage director for Phoenix, Az 85018 the resort’s three restaurants. 602.955.8100 In 1994 he opened Tarbell’s Tarbells.com and has gained much fame Hours: Mon – Sat 5 pm – 10 pm from competing and winSunday 5 pm – 9 pm ning the Iron Chef America

award in 2007. This culinary genius also has numerous awards for his culinary creations, multiple television and radio appearances, a series of speaking and teaching engagements, featured in many magazines and holding positions on the board of many local organizations. The Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame presented Tarbell the “Culinary Chef Extraordinaire” award in 1999 and, more re-

cently in 2008, he received the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame “Culinary Media Master” award. In 2010, he proved he was talented in another area when he won the Arizona Kidney Foundation “Dancing with the Stars” award for Best Celebrity Dancer. This man doesn’t know how to sit still. In fact, in addition to all his traveling and projects, he recently opened a wine bar (The Tavern) next door to his restaurant, and The Wine Store on the corner. Also, this year Tarbell opened a restaurant, The Oven, in Colorado. AN ALL-ENCOMPASSING MENU

So we have this fabulous chef in town and I am embarrassed to admit that I had never dined in his restaurant. You can imagine my excitement to not only interview Chef Tarbell but also be able to dine with him in the private dining room. Oh, how I love this job. My first reaction after reading the menu was how diverse it was, listing Mediterranean and American classics. Chef Tarbell makes sure each item on the menu carries his specifications of having great taste, flavor and texture. My plate was a canvas to wonderful, colorful sauces and foods. I was amazed how beautiful the Hamachi Crudo looked, served with a horseradish vinaigrette, cucumber and avocado mouse, and how delicious it tasted. Next, I sampled the popular Tar’s Scotch Beef served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and a velvet red wine gravy. The gravy enhanced and did not mask the flavor of the beef. It tasted wonderful. The portabella mushrooms I tasted were very tender. I really enjoyed the crispy northern white beans with parmesan cheese, olive oil and parsley. They are great. However, my favorite was the red snapper and it was, hands down, the best snapper I have ever had. I could not get over how moist and flavorful it tasted with just the right amount of crunch. My last bite was as delicious as the first. It’s a definite “do over” on another visit.

Be sure to save room for dessert. A chocolate lover’s dream is the Chocolate Mousse and it is fantastic and somehow, even though I was full, it just slid down. It’s very chocolaty with a hint of coffee. The topping is a wonderful, hand whipped cream made without sugar, so there isn’t that overly sweet taste. It was unlike any chocolate mousse I have had. Other dessert favorites offered are crème brulee, cheesecake, chocolate cake and southwest bread pudding. I asked Chef Tarbell if he was preparing to have a 20-year anniversary celebration and he responded he wasn’t. In fact, he said the restaurant never had a grand opening celebration. Why, I asked? His philosophy is: “Every day we’re opening for the first time. Everyone’s welcome and everyone should feel welcome. The service is the same whether you are stopping in for a casual bite or celebrating a special event.” It is obvious Chef Tarbell has the Midas touch in anything he puts his mind to. Having a successful restaurant for 20 years is testimony to his stellar culinary reputation. For a quick cooking demonstration you can watch Chef Tarbell prepare simple dishes online. Liking the Daughter You Love ARTICLE CASEY GIBBONS

R

aising a girl can be a blessing and a challenge all at once. Girls can be enjoyable and yet so difficult at times. As I think about raising daughters, lines from the song “Maria” in the classic movie The Sound of Music come to mind. “…She is gentle! She is wild! She’s a riddle! She’s a child! She’s a headache! She’s an angel! She’s a girl!” Girls are so lovable and yet not always likeable. As a mother of five daughters, I certainly love them all deeply and unconditionally. But it didn’t take long to realize I didn’t necessarily always like them. For instance, one of my girls talks excessively. This little one reminds me of the continued “Maria” lyrics, “When I’m with her i’m confused, out of focus and bemused and I never know exactly where I am…” while another daughter is highly emotional and “Unpredictable as weather, She’s as flighty as a feather…” The other three deal with everything from hyperactivity, “How do you make her stay, and listen to all you say…” to overly opinionated, “Many a thing you know you ought to tell her…” to stubbornness “… Many a thing she ought to understand.” So, assuming there may be another mother out there that has admitted she doesn’t always like her daughter, here are a couple of things that are helping me on this journey of liking my lovables. 24 Paradise Valley Lifestyle | May 2014

First off, choose to like her. The story of old “Mr. Jones” comes to mind. After his wife passed away, Mr. Jones needed to move into a nursing facility. Upon arrival, the nurse walked him down the hall on his way to his room. She said, “Mr. Jones, we have prepared the room for you and we will see how things are when you get there.” He answered, “I already like it!” “But you haven’t seen it.” “No, but I have decided that I will like it!” And we can do the same as mothers. We can decide to have the attitude of accepting our children no matter what. This resolve can drive us steadily forward through the challenges that may lie ahead. I am determined to like my girls. Secondly, remind yourself how undesirable you have been. I can think of dozens of my behaviors that weren’t what they should have been. I don’t even know how my dear mother made it through all my questions in elementary school, my emotions in junior high, and my dominating attitude in high school. Furthermore, as an adult, I still have moments of less-than-admirable actions. None of us are completely likeable at all times. This very thought causes me to give grace to my daughters. And just as most of us know when we are being unacceptable, our children may be

in tune with their own awareness of their behaviors yet may not be mature enough to know how to handle it or stop. This leads to a third step of taking time to communicate in order to work through issues. While it is necessary to decide to like our girls and beneficial to remind our self of our own shortcomings, this doesn’t mean we just move on and let things go as they are. In fact, this is a prime time to face the issues at hand in order to gain understanding. Listen. Ask questions. Engage with her emotions. Then, share your feelings and thoughts so that she can see how her actions are affecting others and how she can improve. Sometimes we need to confront the unlikeable as we lead our girls. It may take time and several attempts but they are listening and most girls do want to know how they can be the best they can be. In fact, my mom and I had a talk like this just a few years. She and I were frustrated with each other. So, we talked it out. It took three hours and many tears to work through how she thought I was controlling and I thought she was careless but it worked. We both ended it feeling understood. And we also knew we both had things to work to improve. Finally, when all has been done, think outside your own personality. Sometimes we just don’t like our daughter because she has a different personality. There are some things about girls that are a part of who they are. I am amazed at how my five girls can all be born within seven years and each can be so unique. I have had to

accept that while some things need to be changed, there are other things that are just personality. For example, one night I burned the rice at dinner but served it anyway to see if anyone noticed. Well, they did. And each one had a comment. My oldest said logically, “Mom, the rice is burnt because you got distracted with laundry.” My second girl responded, “Yes, but it’s okay because we all make mistakes, Mom, and I still love you.” The next one wasted no time and spit out the food while saying, “Yuck! That is terrible!” Her younger sister took note and said, “Thanks for making it, Mom. but I am NOT even going to taste it!” And of course, my toddler just played with the rice happily. It was just a matter of their personalities. Sometimes, it’s just easy and fun celebrating who they are and how they see life. Overall, learning to like the daughter you love may feel like the ending words of the “Maria” song that ask, “How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?” but I believe we can. We can like them and embrace the fact that, like us, “She’s a girl!” Casey works wholeheartedly as a mother to five girls and has a son due this summer! She and her husband, Scotty, have worked full time with youth for over 20 years and would enjoy sharing more life with you at ReaLifeCasey.BlogSpot.com.

Home Matters

Make a Splash With Family Pool Fun W

armer weather brings leisurely days spent poolside with friends and family. As you get ready to dive in to another season of fun in the sun, remember that safety comes first. With more than 10 million residential pools across America, the opportunities for water recreation right at home are plentiful. But so, too, are the chances of water-related mishaps. “Pools are a great source of enjoyment for families, and with proper supervision and care, the entire family can confidently dive in to hours of fun,” said Joe DeFuria, Brand Manager of BioGuard. “Taking time early in the season to brush up on this important information will help keep everyone safe all summer long.” The CDC cites “lack of swimming ability, lack of barriers to prevent unsupervised water access, lack of close supervision while swimming” as some of the leading risks associated with drowning. Preventive efforts such as learning to swim (or teaching swimming skills), ensuring at least one person with CPR training is present when the pool is in use and having proper safety devices (e.g., life vests and preservers) readily accessible help reduce injuries and accidents. PUT THESE MEASURES IN PLACE SO YOU CAN ENJOY THE FUN AT HAND, WITHOUT THE WORRY: 1. Designate a “lifeguard.” Always pick at least one responsible adult to monitor children at all times. 2. Know CPR: Before investing in a pool, be sure to take a CPR class. The faster CPR can be administered to a person in distress, the stronger the long-term outcome.

4. Enroll kids in swimming lessons: Teach the skill of swimming to children at a young age. Enroll kids in classes to learn the basics and avoid accidents. 5. Teach the parts of a pool: Show children where to locate the

drains, pipes and other pool openings. Explain the importance of avoiding these areas while swimming as they can cause harm. POOL MAINTENANCE ESSENTIALS

Pool owners understand the importance of keeping it clean all season long. The experts at BioGuard provide these tips to keep your pool looking its best for family and guests: • Make waves. Constant water movement helps prevent bacteria and algae from growing and ensures that the pool sanitizer is evenly distributed throughout the entire pool. Circulating pool water during the day for at least 12 hours also helps the filter catch debris. • Test the waters. Every pool needs to be tested for the correct pH and sanitizer levels every week. Have a thorough water analysis performed by a professional every month. • Keep that water treatment going. The right water treatment plan will both maintain pool equipment and keep the water inviting. For instance, the SilkGuard Technology in BioGuard’s Silk sanitizer line makes pool water feel soft and smooth on skin while also preventing corrosion and protecting equipment. For additional pool care tips and to find a local BioGuard dealer,

3. Keep your water clean: Pool safety also includes keeping the water

clean and sanitary for your family. Invest in the proper tools, such as the pool care systems from BioGuard, to keep your waters crystal clear. 26 Paradise Valley Lifestyle | May 2014

Parting Thoughts

She Is‌ WORDS HONA AMER

s I walk into the coffee shop for my meeting, women at a table greet me. These business women are growing, learning and pushing at the edge of possible. I look around at the other tables: a mother and daughter sharing life over a cup of tea, a group of older ladies meeting and exchanging stories about their children, and business men and women making deals over hot coffee. Here in this moment, a common theme is beginning to develop. My eyes wander over to a large table flooded with men and women strategizing and solving problems. Their voices filter through the shop, a sense of collaboration and teamwork permeating the scene. Here, in this noisy yet deliberate moment, business men and women are recognizing and celebrating the strengths that they both have to offer. I soak in all of these individual melodies and can’t help but notice that these women are strong, intelligent and beautiful. Some women are navigating their way through school, while others are starting businesses. One woman is on the brink of motherhood, while another group of mothers are reminiscing about days when their homes were filled with little ones. Some women are solving problems related to economic development, while others are providing support for a friend. The seasons in life propel these women forward into new territory, new adventures and new victories. One of the most beautiful aspects of this morning is reflected in a strong underlying theme: these women are creating community wherever they go. In their families, women have the capacity to create community that fosters growth and development. They spend time pouring into their children, the very heart of the next generation. In their churches and local communities, women are able to gather people around a common cause and mission. In the workplace, women can provide creative solutions and strategies, while moving the organization forward through organizing people to reach a common objective. moving forward. With the excitement and anxiety of a new business coming to fruition, she is determined. With motherhood approaching and all of the pressures and demands of family increasing, she is brave, facing the unknown with a resolute spirit. All throughout her life, she keeps facing challenges while fighting for victories for herself and those she loves. The meeting at the coffee shop comes to a close. The exchange of ideas, stories and life was invigorating. As I slowly walk to the door I glance at the tables still filled with conversation. I push open the door and leave the welcoming aroma of community that I just experienced. All around me are courageous, beautiful women. It is a beauty that exceeds physical appearance. It is a beauty that courses through her very being and withstands the test of time. It is the beauty that emanates from a woman reaching 100 years old. It is the beauty that radiates from a little girl frolicking in a field of wild flowers. It is the beauty that guides the doctor, lawyer, scientist and teacher to transform their industry by their creativity and ingenuity. It is the beauty that is displayed, as a mother loves her children. This beauty is evident in the community she creates in her home, workplace and church. The tangible quality of this beauty is seen in everything she touches. A woman is many things; she is determined, she is brave, she is beautiful.
