Add a Custom Layout Element Build the Book (category) Follow these steps to create, edit or apply a custom page layout on your current yearbook page
Create a new custom layout

1. From the Menu, hover over Book Builder and select Custom Layouts. o The Manage Custom Layout screen displays any custom layout templates you have created. â–Ş Note: If you have not created any custom layouts, the View results will be empty. 2
2. Click Create New Custom Layout. o The Create New Custom Layout dialog box displays. o ďƒŞ Warning: Your new layout will need to be based on an existing template. To review the existing layout options, use the left menu for Ladder Diagram > Layouts > Activity Layouts or Portrait Layouts. Note the

number of the layout to use as a base for your custom layout.

3. Enter the desired name in Custom Layout Name. 4. Select the type of layout from Layout Type. Options include: Single Page or Double Page Spread. 5. Select the number of the layout to use as a base from the Based on Layout dropdown. o See the Warning note above for directions. 6. (Optional) Enter in each tag descriptor into Tags and click Add. o đ&#x;’ĄTip: To remove a tag, click the X after the tag name.

The Manage Custom Layout screen displays with the new layout in the View results.
Search For an Existing Custom Layout To quickly find an existing layout, select only the appropriate View choices. Options include: Page spreads (left AND right), Left Page and Right Page. Select All to return to the default view.
Edit a Custom Layout

1. From the Manage Custom Layout screen, click Edit for the appropriate layout. o The Manage Custom Layout’s Page Builder screen displays with the layout’s elements.

2. Add or edit any desired elements on the page. o đ&#x;’ĄTip: See the Build the Book section of Help topics for more information on adding individual elements onto the canvas. 3. When done, click Save. 4. To return to the Manage Custom Layout screen, click the Manage Custom Layout link. đ&#x;’ĄTip: When you update a custom layout, all yearbook pages using that layout will automatically update to reflect the changes.
Apply a Custom Layout There are two ways to apply a custom layout to a yearbook page. 1. Ladder Diagram To apply a layout to a yearbook page from the Ladder Diagram, see Additional Page Actions under Ladder Diagram: Detail View in the Plan and Edit Pages (Ladder Diagram) Help topic. 2. Page Builder To apply a layout to a yearbook page from Page Builder, see the Add a Page Layout Element Help topic.
