Create Master Pages
Overview
Master Pages are used for same elements with the same placement on each page of the Yearbook. Using a school logo or page number icons are some examples that are used for Master Pages.
WARNING: Master Pages should not be used for custom layouts
Create a Master Pages
1. From the Home page, hover over Book Builder and select Master Pages.
a. The Manage Master Pages screen displays any page templates you have created. If you have not created a Master Page the screen display will have no results.
Masterpage1 will appear on the manage master pages screen, recommendation is to keep it blank to be used for numbers and as a reset.
2. Click on Create New Master
3. Enter name of the new template into Master Page Name.
4. Select the page spread type from the Type dropdown. Options include Double Page Spread, Left Page and Right Page.
5. Select the layout type to use from the Based on Master Page drop down. Options include default and any previously created master pages.
a. The Default master layout includes a page number and footer textbox at the bottom of the page(s).
6. Click Create
a. The Master Page’s Page Builder screen displays with a blank canvas.
7. Add any desired elements onto the page. Remember, these elements will become background for any yearbook pages with this master page applied.
8. Click Save when all elements have been applied.
9. To return to the Manage Master Pages screen, click the Manage Master Pages link or Master Pages from the left navigation.
Search For an Existing Master Page
1. Go to Manage Master Pages screen.
2. Click applicable selection to find the specific Master Page you are looking for. Options include All, Page Spreads, Left Page and Right Page.
3. Based on selection applicable Master Page will display.
Update a Master Page
1. Go to Manage Master Pages screen.
2. Click Edit on the appropriate Master Pages selection for edit function to display.
a. Master Page’s Page Builder screen displays with the master page’s elements.
3. Add any desired element onto the page.
4. Click Save when desired elements have been placed on page.
5. Return to Manage Master Pages screen by clicking on Manage Master Pages link or Master Pages from the left navigation.
When you update a Master Page, all yearbook pages with the Master Page will automatically update to reflect the changes.
