Create a title page (first page of the book)

Include theme-related photos, copy and secondary elements

Study the theme for the book on this sheet. These students are the Penguins. They’re just now going back to school after the mandatory quarantine that occcurred the previous year. Complete Exercise 2 as you brainstorm for design ideas that reflect your theme. Consider photo ideas the will echo your concept. Assign or take the pictures that will help tell the story of your year as it relates to your theme. List those photos to use on theme spreads: • Title page - page 1 • Opening spread - pages 2-3 • Divider spreads - activities (student life), academics, sports, people, organizations • Closing spread - last double-page spread in your book • Parting page - last page in your book

Designing theme spreads:

Add an opening spread to introduce the theme

Add a final spread to wrap up the year’s coverage
