It is important to unify the look of all lower grade level student portraits. They should all be shaped alike with borders of the same width and color.

3 4Step StepYou can shape your portraits as rectangles with square or rounded corners or as ovals, but remember to keep these consistent for all grade levels. The top grade level portraits can be larger than those for other grades, space permitting. Next, choose the frame style. Most schools use solid borders around portraits. Finally, select the desired frame color. Most schools use black to cause the portraits to stand out from backgrounds.

1 2Step StepStart with the portrait frame. Click on the “gear” and drag to Portrait Frame. Next, choose the thickness of the border. These are 0.5 or one-half point in width. Avoid using borders wider than two points, as heavy borders can be distracting to readers.
