XCMG EV reach stacker delivers green solutions
Leading Chinese original equipment manufacturer XCMG has landed yet another record launching the first electric vehicle (EV) reach stacker in the world. The XCS45-EV is equipped with a 235KWH maintenance-free battery with an intelligent power management system and energyrecycle technology. It can easily be adapted to 220V and 380V for both stationary and mobile charging stations. It can operate continuously for 8 hours after only 2 hours of charging. With a lifting capacity of 45 tons and equipped with a 200KW big torque driving electric motor and AMT transmission its traction force can reach 350KN. Already in operation in Shanghai after the Shanghai Harbor Bureau (SHB) became the first client to introduce this innovative machine into its logistic operations it is proving to be
a green solution. SHB implemented the new EV reach stacker into its operations in line with its goals of becoming a more environmentally friendly port. This zero-emission, lower noise stacker meets these goals perfectly. It has run more than 2000 hours without a single breakdown in the SHB terminals. It can easily deal with 200 containers or 500 tons of bulk cargo per shift thanks to its battery that has a much lower thermal cut-off. According to XCMG, the reach stacker has been well-received in the SHB terminals and market interest is high. Mass production of the XCS45-EV has already started.
