vert-up

01 vert-up

advisor: shannon basset location: sudbury, ontario software: rhino, illustrator, photoshop & v-ray team size: two duration: one semester

Vert-up is a play on the word vertical and ‘vert’ as in the French word ‘green’. Our thesis: Reclaming land in an urban environment. Where nature is a vertically built destination. By transforming an empty parking lot into a student/ entrepreneur housing. By merge the public spaces vertically throughout the building for the urban spaces to contine from the ground up. With the lack of green spaces downtown Sudbury adding greenry vertically to connect the master greening plan together. All drawings were shown are done myself, except housing typologies done by R.Heavens.

04 ribbon tower

ribbon tower advisor: alex josephson location: toronto, ontario software: rhino, illustrator, photoshop & grasshopper team size: two duration: one month Ribbon Tower was inspired by the movements of the ribbon during a rhythmic gymnastics outline. The movements were then used to form the shaped of the tower. Also by using grasshopper we were able to translate the movements on the video to twodimensional platform. I helped create unique curvature of each ribbon in grasshopper and using Photoshop to layout the various colours to represent different moments in time.

mutually assured destruction

06 m.a.d

location: sudbury, ontario materials used: wood team size: five duration: three weeks Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D), is a reflection on the lost identity of Sudbury. With many historical landmarks getting demolished and replaced with parking lots, what now will happen to the super stack. This installation aims to create awareness for the lost natural landscape and its iconic symbol of Sudbury. Photos are taken by M. Vos Coupal and D. Tyers. My group members and I worked on cutting 6x6 wood to size and applying photos on to the block of wood. As a team, we assembled the installation together.
