DESIGN STUDIO WORK

NEXT Office INTD 4562 Fall 2020 NEXT Steelcase Competition

NEXT is opening a satellite office in Atlanta, Georgia. This open space requires a design that not only caters to the design needs of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Software Used: Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Lumion, InDesign, Google Sheets, Hand Sketching Photoshop, and Illustrator. 1

Some of Gestalt theories of perception are closure, proximity, similarity, and inclusiveness. These theories have a psychological connection in human-centric design, showing how our brains create a visual understanding of things around us. Gestalt theories of perception should emphasize to the inhabitants of the office a natural sense of visual/physical understanding. The goal of the space is to create the use of structural elements, wayfinding, and color theory in the technology-driven company NEXT.

Copasetic Skate Retail Shop INTD 3555 Spring 2020 CallisonRTKL Dallas Partnership

Software Used: SketchUp, AutoCAD, Lumion, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Copestic is a retail skate shop which is catered to new and old coming customers. The goal is to keep you safe, educated and empowered when it comes to skating. The focus of the design is to create a nostalgic aesthetic of the 70s and 80s roller skating era. The intent of the design is movement throughout the space. The concept is derived from the idea of the movement inside of a lava lamp. 12

This is Chantel, she heard about the shop from a friend that has been skating for a while. Chantel wants to start her skate journey and loves anything 70s aesthetic. She is also excited to be able to test out her skates in the shop at the rink.

This group of girls are just hanging out at the mall and see the Copestic Shop and are imagining all the pictures they can take around the store to post on their social media.

This is Jess, she has been skating for over six years and loves scouting out new skate shops to not only tell her clients about but, to see what finds she can get. Also, being about to practice at the shop in the rink is a bonus for her to test out her new wheels.
