Outdoor living” or “exterior design” trends for 2025 are all about merging comfort, sustainability, and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.

As the summer months are approaching fast, outdoor living spaces are becoming more than just an extension of the home—they're a true reflection of our lifestyle and design style.

In 2025, we’re looking to other cultures for cues on how to live graciously, which means we’re swapping out our hot tubs for cold plunge pools and going all in by entertaining outdoor kitchens.

It is so important that we value time with family and friends, living in our landscapes— dining alfresco, cooking together, strolling through meadows, and watching butterflies collecting nectar. Nature provider, the magic that makes life better.

Whether you're revamping your backyard or simply looking for inspiration, here are outdoor living trends that will define porches and patios everywhere this year. Get ready to elevate your outdoor space to a whole new level of easy living.

1. E ARTHy, N ATURA l Colo UR PA l ETTES

• Warm neutrals, terracotta, olive green, rust, and sand tones.

• Inspired by desert landscapes and Mediterranean aesthetics.

• Matte finishes are in—especially for stone, ceramic, and outdoor fabrics.

2. BlURRED I ND oo R - oUTD oo R lI v ING

• Large glass doors, retractable walls, and covered patios that make outdoor spaces feel like extensions of the home.

• Outdoor kitchens, fire features, and entertainment systems bring the indoors out.

3. S USTAINAB l E & E Co-Co NSCI o US MATERIA l S

• Wicker, recycled wood, reclaimed stone, and sustainable rattan or bamboo.

• Solar lighting, rainwater harvesting features, and permeable paving.

4. oUTD oo R W E ll NESS Zo NES

• Think yoga decks, cold plunge tubs, saunas, and meditation gardens.

• Soft lighting, natural scents (like lavender or eucalyptus), and privacy-enhancing landscaping.

5. MAx IMA l IST Pl ANTING & W I l D G ARDENS

• Layered textural plantings, native plants, and pollinator gardens.

• Wildflower meadows and edible landscaping (e.g., herb walls, citrus trees) are huge.

6. Mo DU l AR & M U lTI -F UNCTI o NA l F URNITURE

• Pieces that adapt—like seating with storage, or daybeds that turn into dining benches.

• Weatherproof performance fabrics that look like indoor upholstery.

7. S TATEMENT P IECES

• Oversized planters, sculptural fire bowls, dramatic lighting.

• Curved shapes and tactile surfaces—like boucle or woven rope details.

8. T ECH -I NTEGRATED S PACES

• Smart irrigation, app-controlled lighting, and built-in speakers.

• discreet tech that doesn’t interrupt the nature vibe.

G ARDEN DECo R H oTTEST TRENDS IN 2025

Think comfort colour and character!

In 2025 we are saying goodbye to boring outdoor fabrics and furnishing, we still want weather resistant fabrics but that doesn’t have to mean that they are not stylish. For upholstery bold hues, tone on tone combinations, contrast piping creates a polished custom appearance.

Particular popular looks like navy and white or earthy terracotta with beige. Also bold striking striped patterns inspired by the beach clubs of the Amalfi coast.

It’s all about creating a sense of escape in our own backyard and making your outdoor space feel like a sanctuary that anyone would want to jet set too.

Indoor and outdoor scallop edging is hot on the scene, playful yet elegant, wavy designs bring a sense of fun, movement and whimsy to outdoor spaces appearing on patio umbrella, seat cushions and even planters and furniture. Scallop introduces a lovely touch of vintage charm, while feeling super fresh and contemporary.

Colo URS ARE IN! Mo N o CHR o ME IS o UT!

For years monochrome design has dominated outdoor offering a sleek modern look, In 2025 designers are encouraging homeowners to look in favour of richer, earthier colours and texture and pattern!

So by choosing less black finishes and more earth tones, richer colours, will keep your style less dated and more designer feel. Try thinking outside the box for the bestdecorated gardens and if you’re looking for unique furniture and accessories for you outdoor space, consider contacting Jennifer to elevate your garden style in 2025!

Spring has now arrived and it is time to spring clean your house. The easiest way to start is to take room by room breaking up the big task with lots of smaller one. Here are some tips for the least popular tasks.

DEEP ClEANING THE KITCHEN

The best approach is the start at the top and work your way down. Tidy everything off the tops of cupboards and clear the surfaces so that you can get to grips with grease. Spray your kitchen cleaner on all surfaces, including the hob and leave for five minutes, then rinse with a microfibre cloth and warm water. dry and polish gloss finishes and tiles with a glass cleaner an a very dry soft cloth. remove the grills from the hood extractors and scrub with a firm brush and hot soapy water. Once they are clean, you can maintain them simply by putting them through a dishwasher cycle once a week. Use a limescale remover for the sink and polish with baby oil to make it shine. Finally, a

good vacuum and mop for the floor, with a fresh mop head.

THE BATHRooM

In a hard water area, even splashes of water cause white marks on your glass, surfaces and chrome. Always use a cleaning product specifically for bathrooms and ideally, something eco-friendly for the health of your family. you can deal with mildew by using an old toothbrush to scrub the grout in your shower. For a really shiny shower screen make a solution of one-part distilled vinegar to four parts water – spray and wipe off.

'If spring cleaning is a task you have no spare time for, give Bright & Beautiful Stourbridge a call. We offer eco-friendly, regular housekeeping services and one-off deep cleans, as well as ironing services. you can have a sparkly bathroom – but no-one said you had to do it yourself!'

SOLVeS CHRONIC

baCk aND

A Wombourne-based physiotherapy clinic has reported some remarkable results from patients who have completed its revolutionary Spinal decompression Programme, with some even cancelling planned operations.

Optispine’s 7-step approach, which combines the latest in technology and therapy, has changed the lives of many of its patients suffering with chronic back and neck pain, helping them to find relief through a long-term solution that really works.

Mother-of-two, Talash Chopra, had her life turned upside down when she sustained a major disc prolapse. She went from a normal life, working in a school, enjoying family life and exercising in her spare time, to being unable to stand or sit for more than a minute or two. Talash could only find relief by lying down and needed to take strong painkillers, which weren’t particularly effective. Eventually, there was only one option open to her; she was recommended to undergo spinal surgery – a step she was reluctant to take.

Talash confirmed: “I couldn’t walk or stand up straight and was in constant pain but, after my course of decompression therapy, I am now back at work, able to drive and can continue with day-to-day activities. I’m also off the painkillers and, more importantly, I no longer need an operation.”

Optispine’s specialised programme offers effective non-surgical treatment to patients suffering from a wide range of conditions, including herniated discs, pinched nerves, sciatica, degenerative discs, spinal stenosis and more.

Not just for back pain, the treatment has also helped office worker, Ann Baddams, who for over three years suffered with excruciating

NeCk paIN

neck pain, leaving her with pins and needles down her left arm and often unable to move her head. Struggling to sleep at night without strong painkillers, Ann began weekly physiotherapy but, due to the severity of her condition, she needed a nerve root block injection, which unfortunately failed, and was subsequently offered surgery.

Spurred on to find a better solution, she decided to try decompression therapy and signed up for six sessions. The programme proved to be a huge success that has enabled her to stop ongoing physiotherapy, saving her hundreds of pounds in treatment costs.

She revealed: “After the first two sessions, I could tell there was a huge improvement. The pins and needles I’d experienced constantly for almost three years reduced dramatically to almost nothing. After completing the course, my condition had improved to the point where I no longer needed regular physiotherapy.”

Optispine’s lead physiotherapist, davinder Chatha, said: “The main culprit of back and neck pain is compression of the spine and, until now, this has been near enough impossible to treat.”

“I’m now seeing these patients in my clinic a lot less frequently as they’ve found a solution to their health issues and, best of all, improved their quality of life.”

“After specialising in spinal therapy for over 15 years, this is by far the most effective treatment for a range of painful and debilitating spinal conditions, and it has even exceeded my expectations.”

THe CaUSeS Of HeaRING LOSS

Hearing loss can affect anyone, at any age, and for a multitude of reasons. At Hear In Hagley and Wombourne, we believe that understanding the causes of hearing loss is the first step towards effective management and prevention. While some causes are unavoidable, many can be mitigated with proper care and awareness.

AGE-RElATED HEARING loSS (PRESByCUSIS)

This is the most common cause of hearing loss, affecting millions worldwide. As we age, the delicate structures within our inner ear naturally deteriorate, leading to a gradual decline in hearing sensitivity. Typically, highfrequency sounds are the first to be affected.

NoISE-INDUCED HEARING loSS

Exposure to loud noises, whether from machinery, concerts, or even everyday activities like using power tools, can damage the hair cells in the inner ear. This type of hearing loss is often preventable by wearing appropriate hearing protection.

EARWAx BUIlDUP

While earwax is a natural protective substance, excessive buildup can block the ear canal and impair hearing. Avoid using cotton swabs or other objects to remove earwax, as this can push it further in. Our clinics offer safe and effective wax removal services.

EAR INFECTIoNS

Infections of the middle ear can cause temporary hearing loss and, if left untreated, may lead to permanent damage. Children are particularly susceptible to ear infections.

oToToxIC MEDICATIoNS

Certain medications, including some

antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, and aspirin, can damage the inner ear and cause hearing loss. It's crucial to discuss potential side effects with your doctor.

GENETICS AND HEREDIT y

In some cases, hearing loss is inherited. Genetic factors can contribute to various types of hearing loss, including congenital hearing loss (present at birth).

THE IMPoRTANCE oF PRoFESSIoNAl AUDIoloGy ASSESSMENT

If you're experiencing hearing difficulties, it's essential to seek professional help. At Hear In Hagley and Wombourne, our experienced audiologists can conduct a comprehensive hearing assessment to determine the cause and extent of your hearing loss. We'll then work with you to develop a treatment plan, which may include hearing aids, assistive listening devices, or other interventions.

Understanding the causes of hearing loss empowers you to take proactive steps to protect your hearing. Whether it's wearing ear protection in noisy environments, managing underlying medical conditions, or simply being aware of the potential side effects of medications, you can play a significant role in preserving your hearing health. don't hesitate to contact us at Hear In Hagley and Wombourne for expert advice and support.

As a counsellor, I see a pattern in the problems clients present to me, throughout the year, that could almost be looked at as being seasonal.

It’s not quite as black and white as people suffering from depression in the winter months, anxiety in the spring, couples’ issues in the summer and teenager problems in the autumn, but there does appear to be trends associated with seasons.

For example, the new school year in September and the following few months, particularly for 14 to 18 year olds, seems to bring a larger concentration of stress and anxiety related conditions.

Christmas particularly and just after, family and relationship concerns.

April, and we see a trend forming around depression illnesses (this also coincides with the highest numbers in a month, for suicide)*

Seeing a counsellor doesn't hold the stigma it used to, thankfully. When I was growing up, if someone saw a counsellor, it was a sign of weakness, particularly if you were a man and while there is still a stigma attached to seeking mental health help, it’s much less that it was.

Thankfully, we have seen a change in that way of thinking as generations come and go, meaning that for some, in fact, probably for most, counselling is now seen as a form of selfdevelopment, and in many social settings, it's encouraged. As our next generation hits the

workforce, even more will see counselling as a social norm.

That being said, the importance of counselling should not ever be underestimated. While it’s becoming increasingly socially acceptable to seek personal help that shouldn’t lessen the impact of counselling or make conditions that counselling or therapy treat, any less important.

The differing array of symptoms and conditions require different methods of counselling. These methods used are more down to the individual needs of the patient rather than the condition they present with. Some patients might respond better to CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) others, SFT (Solution Focused Therapy) or Humanistic Counselling.

If you have any questions or would like to book an initial consultation, please either email me on hilary@lifebalancecounselling.net or call me on 07850 447585

It’s all about The Hen Do!

The great thing about weddings today is that anything goes! Gone are the days when you were tied to tradition and had to have the seated wedding breakfast followed by speeches, toasts and cake cutting. Of course you can still do all this and done correctly this produces a beautiful and classical structure for your wedding day. However, what with the ever swelling guest lists and attendees from a varied mix of race and culture now all too common at weddings, Brides and Grooms across the country are opting for a more relaxed affair rather than struggling against the confinements of tradition.

Over the last few years communal feasting is now considered a perfectly acceptable, and let’s face it, novel way of feeding your guests, with big shared platters of food served on tables for friends and family to tuck into together. There has also been an increase in the “grazing style” of receptions such a cocktail & canapes, picnics or even gourmet BBQs all delivering non-fussy yet scrumptious food while your guests can mingle to their hearts delight!

So in reality, what with the acceptance of such a relaxed style of food service there now

seems to be no rulebook about what or how you feed your guests. The only thing that you must assure is that there is enough food to go around and that it is easily accessible.

If you are considering a non-traditional style of wedding food then here are a few tips and considerations which hopefully will help you find the right style for you and your budget!

anyone for Cocktails?

This style of affair can be very glamorous and classy however not necessarily a cheaper option, so don’t forgo the three course meal thinking you’ll save money. One of the main factors here is the venue you have chosen. A cocktail wedding requires a certain style of furniture which the venue you have booked many not have. Poseur tables, bar stools and indeed more bars may need to be hired to style the space and create the right atmosphere which will heavily impact on your budget.

Make sure there is enough staff to make and supply the cocktails as it will take some time for them to get around to everyone. Make it easy for people to help themselves with trays of cocktails or simple flutes of fizz positioned at various points in the room so that people don’t have to queue.

Keep in mind your guest list size. With a sitdown meal you will be restricted to numbers simply due to the number of tables and chairs the venue can hold. Stand up receptions such as cocktail-style weddings will allow for a larger numbers in the venue but you’ll consequently need to feed more people, so it might just cost the same as a seated meal in the end.

Canapes & finger food

Pricing will vary depending on your caterer of course. you have to consider the time of day your reception is being held as this will determine the quantity of food you will need to supply to your guests. Think about portions, if you were to put all the canapés allocated per guest on a plate, would it be enough to make a meal?

It may be an idea to have food points scattered around the venue for the guest’s arrival to avoid people pouncing on the first tray of canapes that appear. Create food stations for guests such as a charcuterie, or cheese plate here and there to enhance the supply of nibbles being circulated.

Occasional Seating

Cocktail style weddings are great for mingling but remember to supply occasional seating for the elderly and ladies in heels. Standing up in high heels for 8 hours will result in people kicking off their shoes (never good for wedding photography) or even going home early as they are in too much pain.

If you have elderly guests attending, they will be looking for comfortable seating options to mingle quietly rather than standing up all evening. A selection of comfortable chairs and even sofas would be perfect especially when the disco is in full swing as people will need a breather!

prepare your Guests

Some guests may not have attended a cocktail style wedding before and therefore might be confused about what food will be served. It is always a good idea to make sure there is a note of this on your invites so your guests aren’t left wondering if they should be fasting or loading up their bellies before the event.

best of both Worlds

If you like the idea of a more relaxed format but think that canapes and cocktails wouldn’t quite deliver enough pomp & ceremony on the day then you could always merge the two styles. Have drinks and canapés served after your ceremony, giving your guests the opportunity to mingle, while you’re getting photos taken with your bridal party.

Then invite guests to a sit-down meal which can allow you to schedule in certain speeches, cutting of the cake etc. Why not try sharing platters if you want to keep it less formal. Then have a roaming dessert with different buffet stations situated throughout the venue or even go back to served canapes for sweet nibbles. you can always have your cake served at one of these stations with tea and coffee available.

MENOPAUSE, MOOD AND HOW TO FEEL GREAT IN CLOTHES AGAIN - WITH THE BACK ROOM

If anyone understands the juggling act that is midlife, it’s Fi and Nic — the powerhouse duo behind The Back Room and sister business Phinix Hair & Beauty. Running two successful businesses, raising families, and still finding time to champion other women in every aspect of life – from health and hair to fashion and confidence –they’re all about lifting others up.

The boutique was built on the belief that women deserve to feel great in their skin and in their clothes, no matter their age or stage.

Style doesn’t have an age limit. At The Back Room, it certainly doesn’t come with rules.

Let’s be honest — midlife is no small ride. Whether you’re just feeling the first whispers of perimenopause, navigating the full hormonal rollercoaster, or stepping out the other side with a new perspective and a few battle scars — one thing that often gets left behind is your sense of style.

And it’s no wonder. Between body changes, hot flushes, energy dips, mood swings (hello!), and the general “I have nothing to wear” wardrobe wall, it’s easy to slip into old faithfuls like leggings, long tops, and pieces that just fit — even if they no longer feel good. This spring, we’re thrilled to be launching our new in-house styling service with personal stylist Jo Roberts – and it’s created specifically with women like you in mind.

Jo isn’t here to dress you for trends or try to push you out of your comfort zone for the sake of it. She’s here to understand who you are now, how you live, what your body needs, and how you want to feel when you get dressed each day.

Whether you want:

Help with body shape dressing after changes to your figure

A fresh capsule wardrobe for the new season

Styling for an event, a holiday or just life in general

Or simply some clarity and confidence when you open your wardrobe…

Jo has years of experience working with women of all ages, shapes and sizesincluding styling full wardrobe overhauls, occasion dressing, and helping women reconnect with what flatters them now. She's kind, incredibly down to earth, and most importantly — not pushy.

Because clothes should work with your life, not against it. And midlife? It might be messy, but you deserve to look and feel fantastic through every second of it.

A DIARY OF EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES

50TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Cheshire’s elite came out in full force to celebrate the 50th birthday of Sule Cooper, the wife of the founder of travel retailer On The Beach. The event was held at her breathtaking Alderley Edge home, where Nick and Royston joined 150 of the region’s finest guests to mark the milestone in style. The luxurious venue, complete with an indoor bowling alley, set the stage for a night to remember.

The party was held in a private underground nightclub, where champagne and canapés greeted guests upon arrival. With cocktails flowing freely and DJs spinning tunes all night, the dance floor was packed. A night of fun, laughter and dancing made it a birthday celebration to cherish!

CHARITY AFTERNOON TEA

Supporting local charities have always been close to Nick & Royston’s heart. So, when asked to support an event in aid of raising awareness for Medullary Thyroid cancer and fundraising for Heather Johnson, they were more than happy to help.

Held at The Mount Hotel, the guests were served afternoon tea and champagne. Nick & Royston enjoyed a catch-up with friends with Royston helping to kick off the auction. The day was a roaring success raising over £4000, with loads of fun, laughter and all in a great cause.

Wishing the very best for Heather on her journey.

NIGHT ON THE TOWN

With the return of ITVBE `The Real Housewives of Cheshire`, Nick & Royston are busy filming the latest series with all the gang. After a full day of recording with co- star Lauren Stone, a night out was called for with friend Donna Johnson.

A favourite restaurant of Nick & Royston’s is Cibo in Hale with its renowned roof terrace, where eating under the stars makes it the talk of the town. A celebrity hotspot, it is always busy with a great vibe, offering the finest Italian cuisine. After enjoying the delightful food, the evening continued back to the bars of Alderley Edge and then on to a nightclub in Wilmslow. There’s no slowing down for these socialites - just another night out with plenty of energy and style!

ALDRIDGE–BROWNHILLS ANNUAL DINNER

Nick and Royston were invited to attend the prestigious Aldridge-Brownhills Annual Dinner at Aston Wood Golf Club for a black-tie event that combined delicious dining with an auction to support charitable efforts. The evening featured distinguished guest speakers, including The Rt Hon Robert Jenrick and Hon Wendy Moreton MP, who entertained guests with insights into the world of politics.

Always eager to expand their social circle, Nick and Royston had a wonderful time meeting new people and enjoying an elegant night out. The evening proved to be both entertaining and meaningful, making it an unforgettable experience.

48 HOURS IN THe CHaRMING CITy Of CaMbRIDGe

Famous for its university and colleges, chapels, cobbled courts, bridges and beautiful gardens, Cambridge attracts millions of visitors from all over the world. For those of us with a thirst for architecture and heritage Cambridge provides the finest examples.

On arrival, I checked into the University Arms, a luxurious hotel, which was established in 1834 and is located on regent Street. As I entered, I was warmly welcomed and my luggage was swiftly whisked away. I was escorted to a spacious terrace suite with a balcony overlooking Parker’s Piece, a verdant park, which is a popular spot for picnics, cricket and football. The air-conditioned suite with underfloor heating measures 27 sqm, and features contemporary and comfortable seating and a bright, airy bathroom with a free-standing tub. I took advantage of the generous selection of toiletries and climbed into the enormous bed, swathed in cool linens, and I soon succumbed to a deep slumber.

Up with the larks and with a spring in my step I made my way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, known as the ‘round church’, which is right in the centre of the city and it

is architecturally stunning. One of only four round churches in England, this Norman masterpiece was built in 1130 and is based on the church of the resurrection consecrated in Jerusalem in 335, over the site where Jesus Christ rose from the dead. It is spectacular.

The Fitz William Museum, on Trumpington Street, is a real treat for those of us seeking true art. Highlights in the permanent collection include masterpieces from the fourteenth century to the present day, pottery and glass, oriental art, manuscripts, sculpture and Egyptian antiquities. There is a vast array of exhibits to feast the eyes upon and limited time meant that I had to be selective as to which rooms to visit but a stroll around the ‘People’ collection includes the fabulous painting ‘The Betrayal of Christ’ by Bartolomeo Fabri of Cento, which is dated 1621. The masterpiece captures the moment after Judas betrayed Christ with a kiss. I was absolutely mesmerised and moved at the same time. Another treasure is the red granite coffin lid of ramesses III, which weighs seven tons and was transported by the Italian adventurer Giovanni in the nineteenth century.

Back at the hotel and following a long-lie in and a rejuvenating shower I embarked on another packed itinerary and began with the highly popular Cambridge river Tour. The embarkation point is at the Quayside by Magdalene Bridge. Floating sedately by the most magnificent buildings, including the King’s College Chapel, the Bridge of Sighs and the Wren Library at Trinity College, is the most wonderful way to spend an hour or two in the afternoon. I opted for the ‘chauffeur driven punting experience’ and it was splendid. My ‘chauffeur’ was very entertaining, providing his enthralled passengers with his insight on local history and even a few snippets of gossip.

Back at the hotel I made my way to the bar and ordered an Irish coffee, my favourite night-time tipple. reflecting on my time in Cambridge and my admiration for the 121 members of the University of Cambridge who have been recipients of the Nobel Prize since 1904 I held up my glass in honour of those remarkable people and to this wonderful city.

ISUzU V-CROSS 4 x 4D-Max

Isuzu vehicles have been around for a considerable time; however, the d-max is the only vehicle promoted in the UK, writes Bob Hickman.

There are single and dual cab versions, for those business and private buyers who need something robust, big, with good carrying facilities, excellent towing capacity and the ability to venture off-road, the d-max is a great choice.

The third generation has a stance and presence, with dimensions of 5265mms in length and 1870 mms in width, it is a substantial vehicle, and from a driver’s perspective, the height and visibility really are excellent.

Isuzu have done an excellent job with the dashboard and the fittings, they are all well put together, the instrumentation is very, easy to understand, and has a nice soft touchy effect.

The interior benefitted from leather upholstery, the muti-adjustable driver’s seat was electronically powered, and I did like both front seats were heated. The infotainment was limited, there was a dAB radio, Blue Tooth connectivity was available and to my amazement press a button in the dashboard and there was a Cd player, a real throwback to the good old days, it powered 8 speakers and also front and rear, USB ports were fitted to connect to Apple play or Android auto should you wish.

There can be little doubt that it is a functional vehicle, the interior is a balance between comfortable and sturdy, with rubber mats throughout, no posh carpets here, this vehicle may spend a lot of its time off-road.

The rear section of the cabin is excellent, some dual cab models have rear seats that are very narrow with very narrow doors to get into the cab, but not the d-max, there is excellent

space in the back and wonderful head and kneeroom and the bench seat is very, very comfortable.

Without doubt one of the big features is the pick-up pay load area. There is a huge amount of space, the carrying capacity is excellent, you need to be very careful when you lower the tailgate, although it does have some damping, it is seriously heavy.

There is only one engine option on the d-Max, and that is a somewhat noisy 1.9-litre turbo charged diesel. It always seemed to be labouring, but did the job and once you got used to the diesel clatter factor it performed very adequately.

My particular test car produced 160bhp, you don’t buy a vehicle of this type for a 0-60 sprint but 11.2 seconds to 62mph is not to be scoffed at, during my test drive, and in nearly 300 miles on primarily in and around town and twisty lanes and a little bit of off-roading, the computer suggested that we were averaging

28mpg. Co emissions was never going to be on the light side and it is quoted as 241 co/gm.

One feature that a lot of people will be interested in, is the kerb weight at just over 2,000 kilograms the d-Max can tow trailers weighing up to 1700 kgs.

Whilst in company with the vehicle we had a couple of days of horrendous snow and it was a delight to be able to be in a 4 x 4 vehicle and also interestingly is the facility to switch between 2-wheel drive high and 4-wheel drive high whilst on the move and at all times the vehicle was without doubt a reassuring companion.

My test car came in the colour that was described as being Valencia, effectively it was a beautiful, brilliant bright orange colour.

Isuzu have a 5-year 125,000 miles warranty and was priced for the automatic version at £38,495 on the road.

MaxIMISe yOUR fINaNCeS: SMaRT Tax yeaR pLaNNING

As we step into a new financial year, tax planning should be a top priority. With allowances tightening, making the most of available tax-saving opportunities is more crucial than ever. Whether you're self employed, salaried, or juggling multiple income streams, understanding and optimising your allowances can have a significant impact. One of the key areas to focus on? your pension contributions.

Pensions aren’t just a means of securing your future—they’re also a savvy way to reduce your taxable income today. Every contribution you make benefits from tax relief at your highest rate, meaning higher rate taxpayers can effectively receive 40% relief on their contributions. If tax efficiency is part of your financial strategy, pensions should be at the forefront of your tax year planning.

Key Pension Planning Strategies:

1. Maximise your Annual Allowance - you can contribute up to £60,000 into your pension this year. However, for high earners— those with an adjusted income exceeding £260,000—this allowance may be tapered.

2. Carry Forward Unused AllowancesHaven’t used your full pension allowance in

recent years? you may be able to carry forward unused allowances from the past three years. This is especially beneficial if you're expecting a high-income year and want to offset some of your tax liability.

3. Make the Most of Employer Contributions

If your employer offers pension contributions, be sure to take full advantage. These contributions are tax efficient and can substantially enhance your retirement savings.

Start the new financial year with confidence— plan smart, invest wisely, and secure your financial future.

At Cre8, we specialise in helping you navigate pension allowances and other tax efficient strategies, ensuring you make the most of every opportunity. In essence, we take care of the tax year planning for you. If you have investments exceeding £200,000 and want expert guidance, why not schedule a free, no-obligation 30-minute consultation with Jo? Call us on 01562 745730 to arrange a meeting at our offices.
