ABOVE There are many times that I do not want to put my workout clothes on and head down to the basement for my workout. It could be because I have been having a busy day, the kids are cranky, and/or time just seems to run out. That is why having a scheduled appointment with Lindsay is so important for me. Otherwise I can find every excuse in the book to not get it done.

With my business, my family and my household, I often find many reasons why 'I can't' get my workout done! I am not the best at 'self care, " usually putting my clients, my kids and everyone else before me. Working out for me is the key to my "self care!" .

TABATA SONGS DOWNLOAD SONGS THAT HAVE THE TABATA COUNTER ALREADY BUILT IN There are a few different options with Tabata songs. I LOVE the coaching Tabata songs. Each 4 minute block has a coaching counting up and down in line with the Tabata protocol. Each "song" is the full four minutes with 20 seconds of work with 10 seconds rest. It keeps you motivated and pushes you to complete each round.

CHOOSE THE TYPE OF MUSIC YOU LIKE You can choose from electronic to house to country music. I usually do a mixture of them all. I especially love them when I am teaching a spin class (indoor cycling) so the "coach" can talk while we all work.

So instead of doing a set of weighted lunges and then taking a break for a few minutes, head straight to another exercise

When Tabata Songs first came out in 2011 there were not many options BUT today you have a ton of different types of music, beeps versus a coach and pretty much everything in between. As Tabata continues to grow in popularity, more options will continue to become available.

HIGH VS LOW INTENSITY Often people confused HIGH INTENSITY to mean high impact. Lets look at the definitions of no, low and high impact first. No-impact - where your feet don't leave the ground (like swimming or the elliptical trainer) Low-impact - which involves activities where at least one foot is still on the ground (like walking)

High-impact - where both feet are off the ground at the same time (like running or plyometrics) HIGH INTENSITY can include any of these types of exercise. What makes exercise high in intensity? One marker is elevated heart rate. Another is the talk test? If you can’t easily talk – you’re doing something pretty high-intensity! So you can see that everyone can do high intensity without high impact.

No matter what the workout, there is an interval timer for it.

You can also add names, have countdowns and include rest between sets. It is free to try but I bought this one for $6.99 and it is worth every cent!
