Mustofa Jekson is one of only three known Indonesian surfers to have surfed Teahupoo, Tahiti. More on page 28. Cover shot by Timo
Lines is not trying to do what everyone else is. Our horizontal format was a first in Indonesian surf publishing and so is the book paper that we pay much more to print on. Our page count and overall size is less than half that of other Indonesian surf publications. Working with these factors might seem a disadvantage to some but not to Lines. What it means is more thought going into each issue, more attention to detail and more searching for the perfect shot in order to make you stare long and hard at each page you turn to. If we have accomplished that then our job and goal at Lines is a success.

COCA-COLA’S SOLAR POWER COOLER TURNS HOT INTO COLD
The all new Coca-Cola Solar Cooler has officially been launched and installed at a small stall on busy Kemang street in Jakarta. It operates on solar energy alone with no other power source required, and it can store and chill up to two crates or approximately 48 glass bottles. The production cost would be offset by drink sales in areas where there is no electricity, like the beach. Watch for the Coca-Cola Solar Cooler around Jakarta and Bali in the coming months. Yet another eco-innovation from our friends at Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia.
ECO SURF RESCUE ULUWATU - ESRU
For more on how to help Uluwatu go to: http://ecosurfrescue.moonfruit.com
ESRU is a community NGO working to clean the Uluwatu cliff and beach. Already ESRU has installed a trash collection and compost system and now the big project is a liquid waste system for the over 50 shops, restaurants and businesses lining the cliff above the surf spot. US$17,000 has been raised, $50,000 is the goal.
