Welcome to our JULY edition of LINK, its been a great last month with lots of exciting events going on around Blackpool with Armed Forces week and Blackpool Pride events, lots of people out and about enjoying all there is to offer locally. Lots of work still going on with the seafront, but its all taking shape now and not long before we see our new super trams, and all the work will be forgotten. Don’t forget coming up this month on the other end of the coast 17th July is the return of the biggest FREE event of its kind, the Fleetwood Festival of Transport “Tram Sunday 2011” and I believe a tram will be present on the day, so lets support it! LINK had the pleasure of creating the programme for the event so look out soon for copies. Due to the success of our magazines we have now taken the decision to launch our 6th magazine into FY8 Lytham St.Annes coming in August so if you want to get in it call LINK. You may also have noticed a slight change to our covers as we’ve given it a fresh look, we hope you like it as we work hard to develop our Blackpool magazines. The first of the fundraising activities that the committee in-tend to embark upon is the 5K Blackpool Run that takes place on 3rd July. Friends Of The Foyer is a newly formed committee of ex-residents along with staff and present residents of The Foyer based on Chapel Street, Blackpool. The Foyer is a supported housing scheme for vulnerable 16-25 year olds that provides vital help for a better future.

One of our main aims as ‘Friends Of The Foyer’, is to act as a voice for present and future residents to help raise awareness and support from members of the wider community. As ‘Friends Of The Foyer’ we hope to raise over £5,000 within the first twelve months to fund projects and initiatives that meet the needs of residents to The Foyer. Such a project would be a community garden along with a community football team. These projects will develop health, friendship, self-help, learning, social enterprise and living skills.

BJFF - Fund-Raising and Social Events..... Our Fund-Raising and Social Team are always on the lookout for donations of Raffle Prizes and Auction items.......... no matter how large or small..........if you would like to contribute to our fund-raising efforts by way of donating a raffle prize or an item we could auction at one of our events, please contact Kelly on 07780 856252 to arrange for collection. Our Fund-Raising and Social Development Team are currently preparing for a number of events over the summer…. •Bispham & Norbreck Gala – on Saturday 16th July – ALL BJFF squad children are invited to take part in the Gala procession, and we look forward to a healthy turnout on the day.

Our Football for ALL initiative welcomes children who are new to football, or who would just like some extra training, with the emphasis on a fun and friendly environment. Headed up by Level 2 coaches, Joe Rooney, Richard Cookney, and Adam Monk, we have two age-group sessions on a Sunday morning. We welcome Boys and Girls aged between 4 and 8, each and every Sunday, from 10:00am - 11:15am, and then from 11:15am until 12:30pm we welcome Boys and Girls aged between 9 and 13. Trainers, Football Boots, Shin Pads and a Drink recommended. The BJFF Club House is on the corner of Kelvin Road and Carr Road. If you are interested in coming along, with your son or daughter, you can simply turn up at the Club House on Sunday morning, or pre-book with our Chairman, Andy Griffiths on 07884 476954 (or e-mail - agriffit@csc.com). The first session is FREE, and then £3 thereafter.

With a number of attractions, including gladiator style jousting, a mock-up fun boxing ring, sumo wrestling, bungee running (all inflatable based), plus slides, speed gun challenge, BJFF - Just Dance Classes - Comes to the Club House races and many more. All day BBQ with hot and cold drinks available. Plus see the Mums and Dads play football every Thursday.....BJFF are delighted to announce that we now host a regular Dance Class at the Club House on in an Inter-Squad 7-A-Side football challenge.
