Our Under 9’s Blades have suffered a number of postponements, but with one win and one defeat recently, they lie in 4th place with 4 games in hand on the teams above them. Our Under 9’s Predators have had a better run with the weather, amassing 4 wins, a draw and 3 defeats from their last 8 games to lie in 3rd place in the B Division. Last season’s Under 9’s A Division champions, this year’s Under 10’s Blades, are setting the pace again at the top of the Under 10’s A Division, 3 points clear and still unbeaten so far this season, with 7 wins and a draw from their last 8 games. In the B Division, our Under 10’s Predators are also sitting on top with 5 wins and a draw in their last 6. In an age group of great strength at BJFF, our Under 10’s Vipers are 4th in the C Division, a recent run of 4 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats seeing them well clear of the chasing pack, but with points to catch up on the top three. Our Under 11’s Blades 9-A-Side team saw off unbeaten Warton Typhoons Gold, but slipped up against Spirit of Youth Panthers in the four way fight for the title. A pre-Xmas cracker against Spirit of Youth Jaguars will determine which team goes into the Xmas break at the top of the league, our Blades 9 wins and 1 defeat seeing them 2nd with 2 games to go. Our Under 11’s Predators have competed well during the month, losing out to our Blades but putting in an impressive performance, and narrowly defeated by Warton and Layton.

In other action, our Girls Under 15’s squad are 3rd, losing ground on the top two after a couple of defeats in their last 2 games. Our Youth team ran out impressive 3-2 winners against Norcross & Warbreck as they show noticeable improvement from earlier in the season, avenging a 0-2 defeat to the same opposition. BJFF in the Community – Schools Coaching Programme Commenced... Our Schools Coaching Programme has now bedded in, with our Schools Liaison Officer Steve Spencer delivering high quality coaching sessions in core curriculum time, providing after school clubs, and also offering additional after school coaching services at the BJFF sports hall (3G Astro-Turf facility). Sessions continue to be well received at Anchorsholme, Bispham Endowed, Kincraig, Manor Beach, Moor Park and St Bernadettes. We do have other coaches in place at St Teresa’s and Montgomery High School. Steve now offers an After School Club on a Wednesday evening – contact Andy Griffiths if interested.

Our “Football for ALL Skills Academy” welcomes children who are new to football, or who would just like some extra training, with the emphasis on a fun and friendly environment. Our Under 7’s (5-A-Side) and Under 8’s (7-A-Side) play in the Poulton & District Primary League on a Saturday morning, training midweek, but due to the age of the children we are not allowed to publish results. The under 10s Hornets are currently positioned second in the league, which is a massive achievement so far! According to their managers they have been amazing and we hope they continue in their development. The under 9s are currently at the lower end of the league, which does not give a true reflection on ability. They train more than any other team in the club and come up against good teams in the ‘A’ league. No doubt the hard work is paying off, with recent good results and taking points from top teams.
We are an FA Charter Standard Development football club, founded in 1977. The club was awarded an FA Charter Development The under 11s and 12s are both having a successful season award in 2010, and working towards an FA Charter Community in their own right. The under 11s are a new squad who Award. have come together to play 9 aside, which has been a great experience. The group has worked hard and positioned December was a time to settle down from our fixture schedule second in group 2. The under 12s are on course for another to focus on holding Christmas parties.
