OPEN CALL FOR DUMMIES & SELF PUBLISHED PHOTOBOOKS On this 7th edition of Lisbon’s Photobook Fair we intend to continue to value and making visible the work of self published photobook authors. With this objective in mind and after the experience acquired last year we are announcing three different options that were thought to fit each phase of the author’s development process for photobook projects.
Photobook dummies exhibition The main lobby of the Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa | Fotográfico, located at Rua da Palma, will be used in exclusivity for the exhibition of the participant’s photobook dummies. In this Fair’s section, one will find projects in early stages of development showing to the public the potentially and future photobooks creating also discussion and reflection around them, with the aim of triggering the organization or content structure of some books already published. We consider this exhibition extremely important, since it enforces the transmission ability of the self published author’s work and trigger the curiosity and willingness of creation of new book object’s. We must highlight that in this event’s previous editions, the photobook dummies gathered the interest of publishers and bookshops, which makes it a unique opportunity for

self publishers to spread awareness around their artistic work adding up the interest at a more professional level. A registration must be done in order to participate in this section. The participation in the dummies exhibition doesn’t have any fee. Registration Form:

Author’s Table and Self Published books Exhibition and sales space where all authors can present their books to the public, widen their network and sell their publications. This space is located in the Fair’s main room along with the professional exhibitors The Fair’s Team will ensure the following and the mediation around self publications all time with the desired help and presence of the authors. A registration must be done in order to participate in this section. The participation in this section has a fee of 5€ Registration Form:

Self published books presentations As it happened in previous editions authors have the possibility of presenting their own publications, being in early stages or already developed. The presentations will happen in the Arquivo’s Reading Room, where some equipment is available to presenters, such as a projector. Each presentation has the maximum duration of 30 minutes and are realized in a consecutive way. There’s a limit of 8 presentations. A registration must be done in order to participate in this section. The participation in this section doesn’t have any fee. Registration Form:

Registrations: The registration in the referred activities will occur between October 1st and November 11th of 2016. It must be done through the form available online and completed with the respective images to the email: lisbonphotobookfair@gmail.com, with all informations described in the registration form. The delivery of the materials must be done directly at the Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa | Fotográfico, in an envelope where the Name of the Author and the respective contacts must be given and highlighted and that can be sent by postal mail until November 11th, to: Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa | Fotográfico 7a Feira do Livro de Fotografia de Lisboa Rua da Palma 246, 1100-394 Lisboa - Portugal (Open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 7pm) After the Fair, all materials must be taken out by the authors, at the Arquivo, in the address and at the schedule referred above. If someone doesn’t have the possibility to take all materials sent previously and with the objective to facilitate the devolution by the Fair’s organization, then one must also send an envelope with the respective shipping costs paid, name and address to be sent.
