My name is Chris Curcio and I am the President of Litehouse Products. I started my Litehouse career at the age of 17 while attending college working toward a degree in accounting. I found the company, its employees and its customers to be wonderfully fun to be around and have stayed on for over 32 years, eventually buying the company in 2008.

I am proud of this company, the products we represent, the local communities we service, the families we support and the people that have made a career here at Litehouse. I remain dedicated to the mission and invite you to join us, follow us or just stop by and visit sometime.

Litehouse was originally founded in Berea, Ohio in 1959 and we have grown over the years into a 15 store retail chain offering many fun products for your family’s outdoor and indoor needs. wimming is a healthy, lowcost activity that you can do at any age. It also has many physical and mental health benefits. Here are four of the endless benefits of owning a swimming pool. SWIMMING BUILDS STRENGTH While it might be obvious that water is thicker than air, many people don’t stop to think about what that means when it comes to fitness. Essentially, every direction you move – every stroke, kick, twist, and turn – requires you to move against the water’s resistance. To swim or to jog a mile in the water takes much longer than walking

or jogging a mile on land. That is because swimming a mile is much more difficult due to the constant resistance the water provides. As a body works against the resistance of the water, muscles develop and grow stronger without the needed recovery time that exercising out of the water entails. SWIMMING IS EASY ON THE JOINTS Swimming and other aquatic exercises are incredibly easy on the joints. These low-to-no impact, non-weight activities make it possible for those who are overweight, pregnant, injured, or experiencing chronic joint pain to comfortably move in the pool. And because swimming involves very little joint strain, it also carries a low risk of injury. S W I M M I N G I S G OO D FOR FLEXIBILITY Flexibility is one of the five

components of fitness. The thing about flexibility is that it becomes especially important as you age. That is because poor flexibility can limit range of motion and mobility, reducing balance and coordination, which can ultimately contribute to falls. Water exercise is an easy and effective way to enhance flexibility because of the unique environment that water provides. The resistance provided by water enables you to move in ways you might not be able to move on land, which makes it possible for even those with stiff muscles and joints to slowly improve their flexibility and regain full range of motion.

Shocking your pool on a regular basis is a critical step in keeping the pool water clear and clean. Swimmers and the environment add impurities to the pool that must be eliminated on a regular basis in order to prevent problems such as algae and cloudy water.

Preventing algae is the key to more fun in your pool. Algaecides act as a backup to your normal sanitation program by preventing algae from growing in the pool.

Using stainless steel panels interrupts the beautiful wall pattern you chose to complement your backyard. The exposed rows of bolts are not only an eyesore, but can be dangerous if brushed up against. The stainless steel panel is also not corrugated like the rest of the wall, so the overall strength of the pool is compromised. This is also an issue in the harsh winter cold as the stainless steel panel can collapse. Location is the first consideration for above ground pools and should be based on available space, obstacles and safety. Plan for space between the pool and any structures or boundaries (Check with your city ordinance for exact requirements). Select level ground with no underground lines, septic tanks, cesspools, dry wells, tree roots or stumps, or debris underneath. Never place above ground pools under overhead electrical lines. Once the location is decided, you’ll need to measure the area to determine what size pool will fit. All of Litehouse’s oval pools have buttress free support systems which eliminate the extra room needed for traditional buttress supports.

W H AT S H A P E A N D H E I G H T A R E YO U L OO K I N G F O R ? Now you can choose the pool shape and height. Round and oval are the most common shapes for above ground pools. Our above ground pools come in heights of 48, 52 or 54 inches. The height refers to how deep the pool is. Many people prefer a deeper above ground pool because more water offers better swimming for the entire family. However, above ground pools with shorter wall heights have lower water depths which may be safer for young children. Please keep in mind that round pools will offer you more swimming area for your money than an oval due to the extra support system required for an oval pool. W H AT M AT E R I A L W I L L B E S T F I T YO U R N E E D S ? True “year round” above ground pools will be made out of either steel or aluminum, as opposed to a pool that comes down for the winter, such as a soft sided or inflatable pool. If properly corrugated, both of these materials are strong and flexible so that they can withstand both the wear and tear of heavy use while being resilient enough to withstand the harsh freezing conditions of winter weather. Steel is less expensive than aluminum, which offers the added advantage of being rust proof. The support (uprights and top seats) material will be either steel or resin or a hybrid combination of each. Once again, steel is less expensive than the resin but the resin offers a corrosion resistant option and the hybrid (steel upright, resin top seat) offers a balance between price and durability.

Sand Filters consist of large tanks filled with sand. The water gets pushed through the sand which filters out any contaminants before they end up in your pool. Filters remove particles as low as 20 microns which become caught within the grains of sand.

Cartridge systems consist of a filter cartridge which sits in a tank smaller than that of a sand filter and filters water through the large surface area of the filter. The cartridge’s clarity lands in the middle, filtering down to 5 microns which are picked up through the fibrous material within the cartridge.

Diatomaceous Earth Filters use mined fossilized exoskeletons of tiny diatoms to filter out particles. The D.E. Powder acts like sand catching particles but on a much smaller scale. It catches particles as small as 3 microns, giving the clearest water out of the three filters.

Solar heaters use solar panels to transfer heat from the sun to your swimming pool. As solar panels sit in the sun, they collect heat. Then, the swimming pool pump pushes water through the circulation system and through the solar panels. As the water passes through the solar panels, it is heated.

Electric Heat Pumps use the ambient air surrounding the unit to heat your pool. The air passes over an evaporator coil using heated refrigerant to heat water returning back into your pool. This process does not require natural gas or propane and lowers run costs drastically.

Gas heaters burn either natural gas or propane to create heat. Gas burns inside a combustion chamber, which contains a series of copper coils. As the gas burns, water passes through the coils and heats. Gas heaters have historically been the most widely-used swimming pool heaters.

hen purchasing an inground pool, the process can appear overwhelming. At Litehouse, we will help you through all the steps to design a custom pool just for you! Here is a brief overview of the custom design process:

TYPE, SHAPE AND S IZ E We offer two different types of inground pools: fiberglass pools and vinyl liner inground pools. Both types of pools come in many different shapes and sizes. F I B E R G L A S S O N E P I E C E P OO L S We currently offer 46 different fiberglass pool models to choose from that come in 11 different shell colors and finishes. Fiberglass pools give our customers exactly the look and style they are searching for. Fiberglass pools are unique in that they do not have a liner. This is a huge benefit for our customers. Most liners will have to be replaced about every 12 to 15 years. Fiberglass pools are also extremely durable and will provide you and your family with a lifetime of carefree pool enjoyment. V I N Y L L I N E R P OO L S Vinyl liner pools are built with your choice of heavy duty polymer wall panels or heavy duty galvanized steel wall panels. Both types are extremely durable. Our vinyl liner pools have over 100 different liner colors and patterns to choose from. Every 12 to 15 years when the liner has to be replaced, you can completely update the look of your pool. What our customers like most about vinyl liner pools is the vast selection of shapes and sizes that are available. We carry over 200 shape and size pools. If you cannot find a shape and size that you like, we can custom build any shape and size for you.

P OO L ? On ground pools are also known as semiinground pools. These are pools that are partially buried in the ground and are perfect for any yard with a slope. On ground pools can be integrated into your yard in many creative ways to create a backyard oasis for you and your family to enjoy. Decks are typically built around them to provide an attractive backyard landscape. They differ from inground pools since they are not completely level to the ground.

They start by building frames using only pressure-treated lumber on top of a full ABS base. The solid foundation that this creates is then covered in beautiful, durable cabinets. I N S U L AT ION The space left between the cabinets and the structure is then filled with insulating foam. This full-foam insulation provides the most efficient heat retention rating available in any spa. This also dramatically increases the lifespan of the spa. It makes the whole structure stronger, quieter, and more durable while protecting the plumbing from unnecessary wear due to vibration.

SHELL They then top it all off with a durable, hand-sculpted acrylic shell with a lifetime Diamondbond backing. Jets rotate on bearings rather than plastic for ease if adjustment. Pillows are dyedthrough, closed-cell foam to prevent cracking, discoloration, and water absorption.
