My name is Chris Curcio and I am the President of Litehouse Products. I started my Litehouse career at the age of 17 while attending college working toward a degree in accounting. I found the company, its employees and its customers to be wonderfully fun to be around and have stayed on for over 32 years, eventually buying the company in 2008.

Litehouse was originally founded in Berea, Ohio in 1959 and we have grown over the years into a 15 store retail chain offering many fun products for your family’s outdoor and indoor needs. H OW I T W O R K S If you don’t love working up a sweat but do love the benefits of a cardio workout, swimming may be your ideal match. The water keeps you cool, even as your heart gets a great workout. You’ll probably be able to keep yourself going for a longer time than if you were running. That’s because it’s fun and gentle on your joints and muscles. The water can also feel relaxing. Plan on doing 2 1/2 hours of swimming a week, or mix in swimming with other cardio workouts. You can set your own pace, going as fast as you like. If you don’t already know how to swim, there are classes at community pools or gyms. It’s good to know how to swim, for safety’s sake, even if you aren’t planning to make swimming your main workout.

INTENSITY LEVEL: MEDIUM You’ll use your lower and upper body muscles for a steady workout. You can make your swim harder by going faster or longer. Swimming targets your core, arms, legs, glutes and back. Swimming will make you more flexible. Your heart will keep pumping as you use your entire body to move through the water giving you a great aerobic exercise. You’ll get stronger from the resistance of the water, which is about 12 times the level of air resistance. Try using hand-held paddles, foam noodles, or a kickboard for extra resistance. Swimming is an excellent low-impact workout which makes it a great workout for any age. The water gives you buoyancy, so you’ll float through your exercise session without putting pressure on your joints.

No equipment is required, except for a swimsuit. Goggles

Swimming is a great aerobic workout for people with most types of arthritis. It can take the load off your joints and help prevent injuries. It is also a good choice if you have low back pain. Warm water can be very soothing. Check with your doctor first if you are having joint pain, have had a recent injury, joint replacement, or are having an arthritis flare. If you have diabetes, an aerobic activity like swimming can be a very important part of your diabetes treatment plan. It will help you burn calories, lose weight, and keep your blood sugars under control. If you have high cholesterol, you will also benefit from swimming. It will help you lower your ‘’bad’’ LDL cholesterol and raise your ‘’good’’ HDL cholesterol. If you have been a couch potato, or you have heart disease or other medical problems, check with your doctor first to see what kind of swimming program is right for you.

SA N D F ILT ER Sand Filters consist of large tanks filled with sand. To filter your water, it gets pushed through the sand which filters out any contaminants before they end up in your pool. Sand filters remove particles as low as 20 microns which become caught within the grains of sand.

C A RT RID GE FILTER Cartridge Filter Systems consist of a filter cartridge which sits in a tank smaller than that of a sand filter and filters water through the large surface area of the filter. The cartridge’s clarity lands in the middle, filtering down to 5 microns which are picked up through the fibrous material within the cartridge.

D .E. F ILT ER Diatomaceous Earth Filters use mined fossilized exoskeletons of tiny diatoms to filter out particles. The D.E. Powder acts like sand catching particles but on a much smaller scale. It catches particles as small as 3 microns, giving the clearest water out of the three filters.

hen purchasing an inground pool, the process can appear overwhelming. At Litehouse, we will help you through all the steps to design a custom pool that fits everything you have been looking for. Here is a brief overview of the custom design process:

TYPE, SHAPE AND S IZ E We offer two different types of inground pools: fiberglass and vinyl liner inground pools. Both types of pools come in many different shapes and sizes. F I B E R G L A S S O N E - P I E C E P OO L S We currently offer 46 different fiberglass pool models to choose from with 11 different shell colors and finishes. Fiberglass pools give our customers exactly the look and style they are searching for. Fiberglass pools do not require a liner, which is a huge bonus. Most liners will have to be replaced about every 12 to 15 years. Fiberglass pools are also extremely durable and will provide you and your family with a lifetime of carefree pool enjoyment. V I N Y L L I N E R P OO L S Vinyl liner pools are built with your choice of heavy duty polymer wall panels or heavy duty galvanized steel wall panels. Both types are extremely durable. Our vinyl liner pools have over 100 different liner colors and patterns to choose from. Every 12 to 15 years when the liner has to be replaced, you can completely update the look of your pool. What our customers like most about vinyl liner pools is the vast selection of shapes and sizes that are available. We carry over 200 shape and size pools. If you cannot find a shape and size that you like, we can custom build any shape and size for you.

On ground pools are also known as semiinground pools. These are pools that are partially buried in the ground and are perfect for any yard with a slope. On ground pools can be integrated into your yard in many creative ways to create a backyard oasis for you and your family to enjoy. Decks are typically built around them to provide an attractive backyard landscape. They differ from inground pools since they are not completely level to the ground.

We will first set up an appointment to meet with you at your home to discuss the different types of pools we carry and the style and shapes they come in. During the consultation, we will create a custom inground pool package that is personalized just for you.

We take care of getting the permit for the construction of your new pool. Getting the permit can be very time consuming and difficult for the customer. We will also contact OUPS (Ohio Utility Protection Service) to make sure that there are no underground utilities where the pool is going to be built.

S T R A P S A N D L OC K S Properly working straps and locks affect the safety of your hot tub. Check the condition of your adjustable tie down straps and locks to make sure they work.

HINGE TEAR Is the hinge torn? Precious heat can escape if a hinge tear goes beyond 2'' from the outside edge. If your hinge is torn less than 6'', it may be repairable.

CHECK THE OUTER VINYL If your vinyl is torn, cracked, dry or brittle, you should know that vinyl breakdown affects the safety, heat retention and beauty of your cover in addition to the cleanliness of your spa water.

I N S U L AT I O N The space left between the cabinets and the structure is filled with insulating foam. This full-foam insulation provides the most efficient heat retention rating available in any spa. This also dramatically increases the lifespan of the spa. It makes the whole structure stronger, quieter, and more durable while protecting the plumbing from unnecessary wear due to vibration.
