Many of us have still got those old fashioned things called photographs lying around and occasionally we’ve used our phone to take a photo of our photo!! We might want to keep it for posterity's sake, stick it on social media or send it to somebody in a message. The problem is though, once we’ve taken the picture we realise there in the middle of it is a reflection of us holding the camera along with a load of glare either coming from the light in the room or through the window. It ends up that your new photo on your camera looks rubbish and you wonder why you’ve bothered.

by Google enables you to digitise photographs with a single click. The app opens up your smartphone camera and asks you to line up your printed photo within the frame on your screen. After you position it within the frame, you simply tap on the shutter button which triggers the flash and shows four white circles on the corners of the printed photo. You then just hover your phone camera above each white circle in turn by following the guide arrow. PhotoScan will automatically crop, remove light glare, stitch and enhance the photos. After the photo is processed, you can manually adjust the corners and rotate the picture if necessary. When you are finished digitizing your photos, you can save all of the scans to your camera roll with another tap.

After the photos are added to your phone’s gallery, you will see a confirmation and a button to optionally open the Google Photos app where the scans can also be viewed. The whole process takes about 10 seconds which is a lot quicker and more convenient than using a flat bed or printer scanner and as you can see by the examples we produced, the results are so much better than taking a normal photo of your photo.

ARE you struggling for space on your iPhone and yet you just can’t bring yourself to delete videos from 4 years ago or apps you still haven’t used yet??

Clearing storage space is a constant concern for people with iPhones, especially since they don't come with expandable storage, limit the amount of free iCloud storage, and still, unfathomably, produce units with only 16 GB of space. Thankfully, there’s a clever, quick and easy MAGIC TRICK that’s been doing the rounds, that you can use to wipe unnecessary files from your device and potentially free up gigabytes worth of storage which can then be put to better use.

Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage to see a list of your apps, how much storage each one uses along with the available space that you have left. All you have to do is open the iTunes Store and attempt to Rent a film that has a larger file size than the amount of storage you have available . Gone With The Wind is a great choice because it’s over 8GB if you select the HD version. You can see the file size of any film in iTunes by clicking through to its information page, then tapping on the Details button.

As long as the film is considerably bigger than the amount of space you’ve got left then you'll get an error message saying that it can’t be downloaded. Click on Settings and your iPhone will automatically remove some useless cache files, instantly giving you more space. Check your available storage again and you should see an improvement—as if by MAGIC. You can get more free space by repeating the process a number of times but take care that you don’t free up so much space that you inadvertently rent the film and incur a cost - be warned!

No way!! And to prove it we have apps!

There’s quite a few out there but the ones for both Android and Apple that can be found at both stores and www.sleeptalkrecorder.com/top (you need the /top at the end) are quite entertaining because they include recordings that people have submitted to the Sleep Talking Hit Parade for everybody else to listen too. (They must be mad!!!)

If easily offended by the odd rude noise or involuntary, sleepy, sweary outbursts then steer clear of the Snore Parade. The app itself is quite easy to operate though. Once you start the app, just click on ACTIVATE to kick-start it. It only records in short bursts when it detects sound higher than a certain level which you can adjust on the sensitivity setting. You can also delay it for however many minutes you think it might take you to drop off - have a little play around with the settings.

When you wake up, click DEACTIVATE and then access any bursts of recordings in the playback tab and ENJOY. Solid proof that we DO NOT snore and all allegations are completely unfounded.
