IMPROVING ACCESS FOR EVERYONE Liverpool City Council has begun building new footpaths and ramps to improve access to Bigge Park. “Council is committed to increasing accessibility around the CBD including levelling footpaths and upgrading ramps opposite Liverpool Hospital,” said Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller. “Once works are completed early next year, access to Bigge Park will be fully inclusive, allowing people of all abilities to enjoy the area. “Much of the work is already finished and Council is working hard to meet all of the actions in the Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP)”. Ellie Robertson of the Liverpool Access Committee said Council has been very supportive of people with disability. “The new ramps will mean I can access the playgrounds and other facilities in Bigge Park more easily so I can spend more time with my family and friends,” she said.

CELEBRATE NAIDOC WEEK IN LIVERPOOL Celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture by coming to our NAIDOC Week events – a street march in Liverpool on 9 July, a performance by Christine Anu on 10 July, a family fun day in Miller and a corroboree at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre on 12 July.
