SUMMER 2021/22

L I V E R P O O L

SUMMER HEATS UP AS MAJOR EVENTS RETURN Liverpool City Council’s popular summer events program is returning in 2022, kicking off with Council’s NYE: Light Up the Sky. Simultaneous firework displays will be held in Casula, Hammondville, Moorebank, Sadleir, Prestons and West Hoxton from 9pm on 31 December 2021. The event will also include an online component with livestreamed footage available to watch on Council’s Facebook page.

Last year, Council was the first and only council to provide residents with a COVID friendly fireworks display – the second largest celebration in NSW, following the Sydney Harbour fireworks. This will be followed by our popular picnic and open-air cinema event, Love Summer, which will be lighting up local parks across January and February in Prestons, Wattle Grove, and for the first time, Middleton Grange at Council’s newly opened

Stante Reserve. Council’s Australia Day event will form part of this event series and will be hosted in Bigge Park, bringing residents back into the heart of the Liverpool CBD. Thank you to our Exclusive Media Partner 2DayFM for their support of our summer events program. Scan the QR code to stay in touch with Council this summer.

COUNCIL’S GALA DINNER DAZZLES A display of fireworks delighted guests at Council’s Thank You Gala Dinner which raised more than $30,000 to support two community organisations in Liverpool – The Salvation Army and CNA Italian Australian Services. Held at Liverpool Catholic Club, the Gala Dinner brought together Liverpool City Councillors, Members of Parliament, Council staff and key representatives across business, sport and education.

As the first major Council event to return in this new post-COVID-19 environment, it was a fitting way to say thank you to our amazing community organisations who have worked tirelessly through the challenges faced by the City over the past couple of years. DIAMOND SPONSOR
