Media Guide 2016 About us Chester Students’ Union (CSU) is an independent organisation with charitable status. Our primary function is to enhance the student experience for our 16,000 members who are current students of UoC, or life members of CSU. All income raised from marketing goes to essential services for students such as welfare, representation, recreational clubs and societies.

The students, Union and University generates an incredible £3400million into the local economy each year, making students the perfect target for advertising your business. With campuses based in Chester, Warrington and Shrewsbury we can provide your business/organisation with instant access in the best format to suit your needs!

We are the only official advertising channel to our members. No other company has guaranteed access to our members year on year. This leaflet displays some of the advertising and sponsorship packages that are available for this academic year. They vary to suit all budgets and requirements of your organisation.

Multimedia Plasma Screen Located in our main building, above the free cash machine, outside Starbucks and our shop for maximum exposure and guaranteed high footfall. The images rotate every 7 seconds, giving 3,600 displays a week! £100 for 1 week £200 for 1 month E-Mail E-mail shots allow you to target students on a personal level who have already registered an interest in receiving targeted messages. Over 15,000 emails can be sent to your demographic of students e.g. age, gender or postcode.

Social Media Social media is a key attraction for the young adults of today. This is clear from the use of smart-phone applications, Facebook and Twitter. All of which CSU utilise to great effect in advertising our products and services. We currently have over 10,000 users of our Chester Students’ Union Facebook fan page and over 9,000 Twitter followers.

On-site Stalls Refreshers’ Fair This event regularly attracts over 500 attendees and has been running for 8 years. It is a combination of local and national businesses reminding students of their offers, and some of our own sports and societies.

2pm – 4pm Wednesday 18th January at Chester campus £160 Onsite Campus Stalls Have a physical presence inside or outside of the SU campus buildings for a day to promote your business or sell your products.

Print Media Leaflet Distribution We deliver leaflets via our own promotions team on a weekly basis, direct to student halls, houses on campus and in the surrounding area. This can be booked at short notice, and has a mass coverage potential at competitive rates.

1,000 leaflets £100 2,000 leaflets £150 Poster Sites Have your organisations poster displayed on a notice board in the Students’ Union, outside the Shop and Starbucks guaranteeing good footfall for a very reasonable price. £10 per A3 poster per week

Please note that CSU have the right to refuse advertising requests if they are deemed to be in conflict with its charitable status aims and objectives. As Chester campus has its own on-site bar, no bars/clubs will be promoted without prior agreement. This does not stand for Warrington or Shrewsbury campuses and we are happy to discuss partnerships with Warrington or Shrewsbury based bars & clubs.
