Ukadiche Modak RECIPE

INGREDIENTS ●FOR Dough ● 1 cup rice flour ● ½ tsp ghee ● 1 cup Water ●FOR Filling ● 1 cup Desiccated coconut ● 50 gm jaggery chopped ● Ghee for greasing ●FOR Garnish ● Jaggery as required ● Saffron as required
PREPARATION
● In a saucepan, add an equal quantity of water and rice flour. ● Mix well and set aside in a bowl. ● Add ghee and make a soft dough. ● For the filling, heat a separate pan.
● Add the desiccated coconut and chopped jaggery; mix well and set aside. ● Coat the moulded dough with the ghee. ● Roll the dough into little balls. ● Place them in the modak mould with the fillings; shape them into a modak.
● Steam the modaks in a steamer for about 5-6 minutes. ● Set aside in a serving dish. ● Garnish with the jaggery and the saffron.
