General Manager’s Message Welcome to the December edition of the Living Gems Pacific Paradise newsletter. It has been a month since our facilities were complete and it is great to see the residents of Living Gems Pacific Paradise experiencing the resort’s full potential. We would be nowhere without our wonderful resident stakeholders, so to show our appreciation we want to say thank you. When you refer friends or family who make the move to one of our resorts, you will receive a cash bonus upon completion as a way to say thank you. I would like to draw your attention to the two new display homes that were recently completed and are ready for viewing. If you would like any more information about our resort, please do not hesitate to contact our Sales Team. Vlad Pullich General Manager Living Gems

It has been a lively month here at the resort, with summer rolling in it’s a great time to start making use of the resort facilities. The residents here at the Pacific Paradise resort are making great use of the facilities available on a regular basis. The residents’ social club are always organising fabulous events; last month they enjoyed a fantastic Melbourne Cup celebration and Oktoberfest in late October. The Pacific Paradise country club is definitely the place to be; residents have a fantastic time taking advantage of the premium features. With summer knocking on our doors it’s a great time to be out and about; it’s wonderful to see our residents out walking with their furry companions, attending water aerobics, or having a hit of tennis. It is exciting to see the resort beginning to mature, gardens and lawns have taken root and are looking gorgeous. We are pleased to

announce that two new display homes are now open and ready for viewing, with another six not far behind. This month, the residents at the resort organised an excursion for their neighbours, the Sales Manager and Resort Manager. We will be travelling a return trip from Brisbane to Beerwah; enjoying food, drink and live blues music on board a historic steam train.

Resident Spotlight

Originally from Sydney, five years ago Peter and Fiona made the move to the Sunshine Coast to be closer to Peter’s father and his family. Fiona has been enjoying retirement for the past two years and Peter has been retired for two weeks but is getting itchy feet already and may return to flying in the near future. How did you come to hear about Living Gems Pacific Paradise? Not too long ago the thought of moving hadn’t even crossed our minds, we thought we would be in our previous home forever. We decided we wanted to move to a quieter area, so we hopped onto realestate.com.au and an ad popped up for Living Gems Pacific Paradise. We had a quick look at the website and thought we had better go and check out the resort. We put down a deposit for the home the moment we got there! What floorplan did you decide to go with?

We fell in love with Marcoola III. The beautiful, big living and dining area was the first thing we saw about this design and it was definitely what sold us on this floorplan. The large walk in pantry was also a huge bonus for us;

We recently cruised from Singapore to Dubai, it was an amazing, perfectly timed trip as we had perfect weather the whole time. Our next trip is planned for February and we will be off to Port Villa and the other Pacific Islands. What are you enjoying most about Living Gems Pacific Paradise? We are having an absolute blast here! Peter is taking a bit of break from his job so that he can make the most of all the fantastic facilities available to us here. Our Living Gems

At Living Gems, we’re a community inside and out. We love getting to know our resident stakeholders, so here’s an opportunity for you to get to know us better too. A family-run business through and through, Living Gems would be nowhere without its staff members and we like to make sure they know that they’re appreciated.

and as soon as I saw this design for the first time, I immediately wanted to knock my interior walls down to replicate the open living layout. How do you like to spend your spare time?

Jacinta Skipworth has been with us for one month and within this short time she has already become a valuable asset here at Living Gems. Jacinta is a member of the Sales and Marketing Team as one of our copywriters. As a Junior Copywriter, Jacinta applies her extensive writing knowledge to each article, blog, newsletter or social media post you may read. She is also involved in the exciting events and open days that Living Gems hold at each resort. How did you get into writing? JS: I am a qualified lawyer and typically, my writing style can be quite bland at times. After working in quite heavy and stressful work environments, I decided that it was time to work outside of my comfort

zone to challenge my professional elasticity and resilience. I applied for the position of Junior Copywriter for Living Gems and thankfully was successful – and here I am! What TV show are you currently watching? JS: My guilty binge is Dr Phil. It makes me feel at ease to know that I am not the only one in the world with OCD, and it allows me to put my psychology degree to motion (talking at the TV, of course). What brought you to Living Gems? JS: Pretty much the same answer as the first question, I was just really lucky to land such a great job. I know it sounds cliché, but I am so thankful to be working in an environment that actually values their employees. The fact they have “bring your dog to work day” is just an added bonus! What is your favourite floor plan? JS: I am loving the Maroochy floor plan at Pacific Paradise. I have just recently finished building my home

JS: At this point I have a full schedule, so any spare time I am blessed with is allocated to sleeping. When I am less busy with wedding preparation, and landscaping my new home; I love to ride my horses and spend time with my two mini sausages! Where do you see yourself in ten years? JS: I would love to be living with my husband in our dream home, travelling and enjoying our animals. I would also love to rejuvenate my love for the legal industry and transfer over to the Living Gems legal team, but until then I am loving my time in the Marketing Department with my fabulous teammates. What inspires you? JS: My parents definitely inspire me. They have defeated all odds and have become highly successful business owners, all from the ground up. They are currently interested in moving, so I have requested they build Noosa II so they have a spare room (for me, obviously). If you would like to speak to one of our Sales Team regarding your home, please speak to Victoria on 1800 978 388 or email: victoria@livinggems.com.au

5 DIY Christmas Decorating Ideas The countdown is on to Christmas eve with only a few weeks to go! It’s time to start getting into the festive spirit; check out these five ways to decorate that will have everyone talking. This is a great opportunity for a bit of DIY with friends, grandchildren or loved ones.

1

A Christmas Wreath

Add a wreath to your front door to spread the Christmas cheer. There are heaps of great tutorials online to help you create a unique

spin of the classic Christmas wreath. Our favourite idea uses Australian natives; gather foliage and flowers from around the area and tie with twine to a wire frame.

2

Mini Faux Christmas Trees

You won’t be-leaf how easy this fun paper folding activity is. Trace and cut out circles from coloured card stock in ascending size, then ‘accordion-fold’ the cut-outs to create the boughs of the trees. Stack the rings and attach to a small wood dowel.

3

Coastal Themed Garland

Bring the beach inside for Christmas this year. Collect shells, starfish and drift wood pieces and string together to create a beautiful, coastal themed garland to hang in the tree or around the house. Carefully drill holes into the shells or attach with a drop of hot glue. .

4

Evergreen Centrepiece

Having a real Christmas tree isn’t always the most practical option – bring the fresh feel of pine into the house by creating this evergreen centrepiece. Take clippings from a nearby evergreen tree and arrange in a vase, attach baubles and other decorations. Don’t forget to change the water.

1800 978 388 | www.livinggems.com.au

It certainly won’t be snowing in Queensland this Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t turn your home into a winter wonderland.

5

Don’t Forget the Snowflakes

It certainly won’t be snowing in Queensland this Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t turn your home into a winter wonderland. Snowflake decorations are a great way to create a wintry feel. Cut out various snowflake shapes and sizes, string these together vertically to create a curtain and hang from your window. Talking Pets love at first sight, I am so glad they took me home with them. What’s your favourite food? Moe: I wouldn’t call myself a picky eater, I’ll try anything! I am proud of my healthy diet which includes meat and vegetables. My favourites would have to be chicken, fish and liver with a side of carrot, green beans and broccoli. I am also quite fond of a piece of sausage off the BBQ too. What’s your most annoying habit? Moe: Like I said before, I offer all my affection to my Mum and Dad, but apparently, it’s a bit too much sometimes. I love to lick all my new human friends and if Mum forgets to wipe my mouth after I’ve been eating I like to use the back of someone’s leg to wipe my mouth clean. What’s something fun you like to do?

Keeping up-to-date with our residents is very important to us here at Living Gems Pacific Paradise. As a pet-friendly resort, we see our animals as part of the family – so in this section of our newsletter, we catch up with our hairier residents. What type of dog are you? Moe: I am a black poodle, I am 12.5 years old and I take my role as companion very seriously and offer all my affection to Mum and Dad. When I met Mum and Dad it was

Moe: Well I love the beach, we used to live at Hervey Bay, so running on the sand is my favourite pastime, that and searching for crabs. I also love to be pampered, Mum will give me a bath, blow dry me and then she will brush my hair – my favourite part. Where is your favourite sleeping spot? Moe: During the day for my afternoon nap I am quite happy to doze off anywhere, but at night I definitely prefer my bed. Do you have any special skills? Moe: Back in my heyday they used to call me a party animal! My best party trick was hoop jumping, but I am an old man now and my party days are over.

I’ve still got a few other tricks up my sleeve like hand shaking and laying down. Do you have a favourite toy? Moe: Oh yeah, you bet I do! My favourite toy is my dummy, I might have gone a bit overboard with the chewing, but I still love it. Mum and Dad trained me to get my dummy before I go to bed.

When I go for a walk around the resort everyone wants to give me a pat, I’m actually quite the celebrity. What do you think of Living Gems Pacific Paradise? Moe: Oh, I think it is fantastic here, I have been able to meet so many new friends. When I go for a walk around the resort everyone wants to give me a pat, I’m actually quite the celebrity. I have also made a friend called Zoe and we sometimes meet up and run around the beach together, it is so much fun. Living Gems Pacific Pines is a pet-friendly resort that promotes active lifestyles and welcoming communities.
