General Manager’s Message Welcome to the first edition for 2018! I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas break with your friends and family, and partied into the new year! We will be commencing our 2018 construction shortly and have many things underway for our resort. I would like to extend a big thank you to our Resort Managers, Sales Team and specifically the construction team for their time and effort in this process. Before the break, a wonderful Christmas lunch was enjoyed by both residents and deposit holders at Inbound Brasserie Toowoomba. It was lovely to see everyone relaxing, having fun and getting into the festive spirit. 2018 is looking to be another busy year for Living Gems and we look forward to welcoming many new residents to our wonderful Resort. Living Gems Toowoomba residents and deposit holders were invited to a Taste of Christmas festive lunch on 8 December at Inbound Brasserie Toowoomba Station and enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch alongside their neighbours both current and future. They enjoyed sharing their memories from the year with their friends whilst indulging in a scrumptious meal with all the trimmings at the restaurant.

CONVICT COPS Not long after the first fleet arrived in New South Wales, Governor Arthur Philip created Australia’s first police force. A group of the most wellbehaved convicts, known as the Night Watch, were brought together to combat the increasing levels of crime.

THE EMU WAR In 1932 Australian farmers in Western Australia were not only faced with drought and the Great Depression but also a flock of 20,000 crop ravishing emus. Between 1945 and 1960 approximately 284,700 emus were killed in Western Australia.
