NAMING PROJECT Naming a new business is a daunting task. It is a very challenging responsibility to narrow to one or two words an entire fascinating venture idea, especially since it is a revolutionary one and can be instantly actionable. The innovative idea of gathering in one place the output and peer-reviewed research in many fields of knowledge will accelerate the progress and lead to an open communication system in all areas of research. The articles will have an open access structure, therefore easy to view, use or distribute and a transparency in peer-review. The open public access will connect different areas of research to the world, making interactions from discovery to tracking, disseminations, evaluations and publishing. It will become an electronic research management codex that will be able to share scientific information to the world, parting from obsolete traditions toward a digital era of innovations.

AV I C E N N A The IDEA “Classic meets state-of-the-art portal”
The LOGO Geometric shapes suggest order, organization and efficiency throughout their symmetry. A square is a familiar shape, easily recognizable and with its angles and straight lines it represents also structure, rationality and formality. Most text people read is set in rectangles or squares, elements on a web page are defined by rectangles per the css box model. I chose this geometric shape to show the intertwine between the modern times of setting an online research portal with the traditional earthbound paper print papers. The right down corner has a curved angle, showcasing two different interpretations: one is imitating a page of a printed book and the other meaning is part of a flat icon used in web design responsive elements. The shape aims to show the deep connection between written papers and unbiased content platform. Inner shapes are rendering a stack of papers ready for peer-review, thing made accessible only through Avicenna. Both classic and modern characteristics set a feeling of security and equality.
The COLOR PALLETTE Blue associates professionalism with authority and it is often used in large corporations and government establishments. It also creates and enhances the feeling of security and organization brought by the geometrical shape of the square. It is a color of loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust and has a calming effect on the psyche. Orange and blue work well together because they are complimentary colors. Orange brings a clean and easy enclosing of the combination mark, it highlights the innovation and creativity of the entire logo.

The LOGO Geometric shapes suggest order, organization and efficiency throughout their symmetry. A square is a familiar shape, easily recognizable and with its angles and straight lines it represents also structure, rationality and formality. Most text people read is set in rectangles or squares, elements on a web page are defined by rectangles per the css box model. Its four corners act as the four points on a compass. The letters inside the square mark represent the countless researchers from different universities, each creating a breakthrough in their area of expertise. The orange line represents the foundation of academic research, extremely visible and meticulously crafted. All researchers are entitled to a safe environment in which their work has a clear unbiased overview of performance and can be showcased worldwide, a real-world solution offered by Avicenna. Avicenna supports progress, technological innovation and promotes unbiased content to a larger academic audience.

The LOGO The sophisticated new shape is formed by small equilateral triangles, creating an uber-modern letter ‘A’. The elaborated architecture is sustainable only if all pillars are in the right position, each elevates the next one, helping to reach new heights. The pattern is a metaphor for the research communities whose passionate and scholastic endeavor leads to innovations and scholastic achievements and most important ready-to-use global solutions and products. Each researcher is part of an unmarked structure committed to building a better world. Triangles represent dynamic tension and action, they have energy and power and their dynamic nature make them better suited to a growing research information system. Triangles can be used to convey progression, direction, and purpose.
