Context I am a designer concerned with print based solutions in the fields of branding and publishing design created primarily for the fashion and culture sectors, using a mix of both type and image. I also have a strong interest in copywriting and the importance of communicating successfully through both language and design. Brief or Tasks Promote the idea of getting off social media and connecting through the hand written letter. Part 1: Print and Paste. Create a large scale poster that would be submitted to the Manchester based collective Print and Paste that communicates your message of connecting without social media. Part 2: Using the work produced for Part 1 as your basis, produce a promotional campaign that encourages a younger audience to find a pen pal and connect through letters instead of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Preparation/Research suggestions Research into similar successful campaigns, how they have engaged their audience, through which formats and what style? Research into your intended audience thoroughly, as this will dictate the style used. Research into pen pals and the traditional methods of communication.
