FROM YOUR HEAD OF SCHOOL

Lamplighter Loves the 90s!

Welcome to the LPA Auction, a time when our community gathers to celebrate and support Lamplighter.

What fun it will be to celebrate with all of you at this special event. This year’s Auction proceeds benefit the LPA Faculty Salary Support Endowed Fund. Growing Lamplighter’s endowment creates annual support to ensure Lamplighter’s faculty compensation is competitive. The support of the Auction this year contributes to the School’s ability to attract and retain the best teachers, and makes a lasting impact on Lamplighter’s future.

Under the leadership of LPA President Barrell Jones, the Auction Committee has embraced the 90s! Auction Co-Chairs Carson Castellaw and Abby Hoak-Morton, along with Event Chair Leah Sultan and dozens of other volunteers, will transform the House of Blues into a fun space for us to gather and have the opportunity to bid on incredible items and experiences while enjoying time together.

I thank you for your donations, ticket purchases, and bids to support our teachers now, and for years to come.

In Lamplighter Spirit,

Dear Lamplighter Families,

Lamplighter Loves the 90s, and we’re bringing all the best of this iconic decade to life at our upcoming Auction event! From neon colors and slap bracelets to the greatest hits on the radio, this year’s event will be an unforgettable throwback celebration. We can’t wait to dance, laugh, and bid the night away with you, surrounded by an incredible community and tons of fun. It’s going to be a night of nostalgia, excitement, and, of course, giving back to the School we all love!

Join us on February 22, 2025, at the House of Blues for an unforgettable evening! We are so excited to be back at the House of Blues, where the energy and vibe are perfect for a 90s-themed celebration. Our Silent Auction and Big Board items will be available online prior to the event, so you can start bidding from the comfort of your phone on Tuesday, February 18, at 8:00 pm.

The Live Auction is going to be off the charts, featuring amazing trips and experiences like a Cabo Retreat, an Aspen Adventure, a UFC Fight Night Experience, just to name a few. We’ve got so much in store for you — think 90s-themed surprises, epic items, and exclusive offerings that are sure to make this a night to remember and a celebration you won’t want to miss!

This year, we’re especially thankful for the dedication of our incredible Lamplighter Auction Team. Each team member truly went above and beyond, taking on every task with enthusiasm and a “jump in and help” attitude. From brainstorming wild ideas to putting in countless hours of work, each team member gave their all, and they did it all with a smile. No job was too small or too big — just a genuine spirit of collaboration and community. We are so grateful to have had such an incredible group of parents making this event happen!

We’d also like to express our thanks to Dr. Joan Buchanan Hill for her outstanding leadership, unwavering support, and invaluable guidance. Your vision and commitment are the foundation that makes this event possible year after year.

A very special thank you to Christine Heskes, our true MVP, for her countless hours of support, endless phone calls, and everything she does to ensure the entire Auction effort is a success. Her dedication and hard work are beyond measure and we are so grateful for her tireless effort and commitment to being a part of our team.

Last but not least, we of course want to give a huge thank you to our fearless leader, Barrell Jones, LPA President! From attending every meeting to answering our millions of questions and supporting our craziest ideas, Barrell’s commitment and support have been indispensable. She’s been a guiding force throughout this entire process, and we couldn’t have done it without her!

As we gear up for this exciting night, we can’t help but feel the anticipation and joy that’s building within our team and the greater Lamplighter community. It’s going to be an evening to celebrate Lamplighter’s amazing history, connect with old friends, make new memories, and look ahead to the bright future we’re all creating together.

Teacher’s Favorite Classic Tales for Children

Each Early Childhood class has a 90s-themed “class pet” and accompanying picture book that visited your homes this winter. Students loved and hugged these cuddly creatures while introducing them to their families, taking them along on after-school activities, eating a snack, or reading a book or two at bedtime. As their adventures draw to a close, these sweet friends need a “furever” home.

Make your child’s day by bringing home his or her class pet so they can share many more adventures together — imagined and otherwise! Winning bidder receives the class pet and picture book. Dr. Hill, Mrs. Mullens, Ms. Breihan, Ms. Corley, Ms. Doward, Mrs. Moore, Maestra Ruiz, and Ms. Stout also have Class Pets up for bid!
