Sophia: Guardian of Reflection

Most of our lives are reflected to us in either our broken shards or worst moments, or the celebratory cups of our finest moments. We catch moments of ourselves frozen in time, beamed back to us for further introspection. Reflections are just that: moments in time reaching out to us to take another look. Like a clue in a mystery novel, there is something in that moment that is important to where you are right now. Your soothing guardian Sophia is here to help you dive deep into the great mystery of yourself and assist you in finding the answers and solutions you require. She will also teach you that not all reflections deal with the past—some might even show you how to look into what is coming so you can prepare accordingly. I must admit when I first sat down with Sophia to work on her chapter, I had no idea how complex reflections really were. I had some work with this guardian before but it was nothing like what is mapped out in her chapter. You are in for a master class on reflections.

I have been trying to pinpoint exactly when guardian Sophia entered my life, but I feel like she has always been there, even before I knew who she was. I don’t want to say she was lurking, though to be fair, my feeling is that the angels often lurk, hoping we will notice them and ask them to do something. But even as someone who has spent a lot of their lives with their nose in a research book, I know Sophia has been with me. She loves wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, which are all, according to her, the gifts reflection gives. If Sophia is around, you will notice the following clues: you experience a moment of clarity that clears up a problem or receive a flash of inspiration that feels as though it has been echoed from across the ages. Sophia loves to point you toward books, websites, and even real life classes. Wherever there is a space and place for reflection, Sophia will be there. She could be your “a-ha!” moment on a stormy day.

Now I know there might be those among you who think spending the whole month dealing with the topic of reflections is a little tedious or banal, so let me put it another way: the chapter on reflections is very much a month-long deep
