JEREMY DONAHUE --
Head Coach (4th Season)
Following a stellar collegiate career at Lincoln Memorial University where he was All-Gulf South Conference in 2005 and All-South Atlantic Conference in 2006 and 2007, Sevierville, Tennessee, native Jeremy Donahue begins his fourth season as head coach of the Railsplitter and Lady Railsplitter cross country teams. In his final season running for the Railsplitters, Donahue won the Lee Invitational and ran a personal best time of 26:20 for an 8k race which ranks him as one of the top-10 LMU cross country runners of all time. In addition, Donahue was named team Most Valuable Runner and received All-South Atlantic Conference honors that same season. A 2000 graduate of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School and member of a state championship qualifying team in 1999, Donahue’s knowledge of the sport of cross country and of Lincoln Memorial University made him the logical choice when the position opened up in 2008. As Donahue begins his fourth season as head coach, his biggest challenge has been locating and recruiting talent for the programs. The success of the two squads will be dictated by how quickly the teams can adapt to the sport at the collegiate level and how well they respond to its faster pace.
2011 MEN’S SEASON PREVIEW In the 2011 season the LMU men look to continue a steady climb up in the conference standings. Returning runners Derrick Lindsay and Shane Curtsinger will be the two runners LMU will count on to lead the Railsplitter team in races. Derrick Lindsay will look to make his 3rd All SAC team while Shane Curtsinger, coming off a strong summer of training, is looking to make his first All-Conference Team. Bradley Maldonado, who was a great surprise in the 2010 season, will look for continued improvement in the 2011 season as he and newcomer Brandon Ward will work together to close the gap down on the Railsplitter front two. Junior Aaron Morris and Freshman Isaac Cummins will play key roles as they will round out the scoring for the Railplitter cross country team.
2011 WOMEN’S SEASON PREVIEW After an injury ridden 2010 season, the Lady Railsplitter cross country team strives to stay healthy and subsequently finish stronger at the 2011 SAC meet. Coming off a medical redshirt, junior Sofia Lopez Mimendi looks to lead the Lady Railsplitters as she attempts to reestablish herself near the front of the SAC conference pack. Senior Fiona Reinecke will run for her 3rd straight All Conference performance and be another leader on the 2011 Railsplitter team. Coming off a great 2011 spring season, senior Amber Stoerp is expected to run with Mimendi and Reinecke as she will be racing for her first All SAC honor. Senior Caroline Chadwell, along with newcomers Jamie Collins, Aura Penalosa and Kristi Blaisdell, will fill out the roster for the Lady Railsplitters. How this group of ladies performs as they look to keep the 1-5 spread down will largely dictate the ceiling for the 2011 women’s cross country team.
2010 MEN’S SEASON REVIEW The 2010 season was a small step in the right direction for the men who finished 6th in the SAC Championship, up two spots from a disappointing 2009 campaign that saw them finish eighth. Many of the returning runners ran personal best times, and the newcomers ran their best when it counted at the end of the season. The Railsplitter Invitational, LMU’s home meet, proved to be the highlight race of the 2010 season for the men as they captured the overall team title. LMU placed four in the top ten and won the meet over rival Carson Newman 28-41. Derrick Lindsay led the way with a commanding 53 second victory, followed by teammates Reid Ailey (5th), Shane Curtsinger (6th), and Bradley Maldonado (10th). In addition to his overall victory at the Railsplitter Invitational, Derrick Lindsay placed in the top 10 at the Carson Newman XC Challenge and added another Second Team All-SAC performance to his career stats at the 2010 Championship.

2010 WOMEN’S SEASON REVIEW After a strong 2009 performance at the conference meet by a Lady Railsplitter team made up of only freshmen and sophomores, the 2010 season seemed destined to be an even stronger one. Injuries and illness proved to be the unfortunate theme for the 2010 Lady Railsplitters, and the team went from fourth in 2009 to seventh in 2010 at the SAC Championship. Key losses for the 2010 conference meet included three of the top five 2009 performers, Sofia Lopez Mimendi (’09 First Team All-SAC), Ashley Robbins (’09 SAC All-Freshman ) and Ashley Thomas. With the lack of firepower up front the Lady Railsplitters were not able to place as high as they would have liked but competing runners were able to run one of their best races of the season. One such runner was Fiona Reinecke who repeated her ’09 Second Team All-SAC performance with another 12th place finish. Earlier in the season, Fiona was able to win her first collegiate meet at the Railsplitter Invitational, with teammates Amber Stoerp (6th) and Ashley Thomas (8th) following Fiona across the line to finish inside the top ten. The Lady Railsplitters finished second at their home invitational making it their best team performance of the season.
