JEREMY DONAHUE --
Head Coach (5th Season)
Following a stellar collegiate career at Lincoln Memorial University where he was All-Gulf South Conference in 2005 and All-South Atlantic Conference in 2006 and 2007, Sevierville, Tennessee, native Jeremy Donahue took over the reins as head coach of the Railsplitter and Lady Railsplitter cross country teams in 2008. In his final season running for the Railsplitters, Donahue won the Lee Invitational and ran a personal best time of 26:20 for an 8k race which ranks him as one of the top-10 LMU cross country runners of all time. In addition, Donahue was named team Most Valuable Runner and received All-South Atlantic Conference honors that same season. A 2000 graduate of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School and member of a state championship qualifying team in 1999, Donahue’s knowledge of the sport of cross country and of Lincoln Memorial University made him the logical choice when the position opened up in 2008. As head coach his biggest challenge has been locating and recruiting talent for the programs. The success of the two squads will be dictated by how quickly the teams can adapt to the sport at the collegiate level and how well they respond to its faster pace.

2012 WOMEN’S SEASON PREVIEW The Lady Railsplitter cross country team looks to build on last year’s success and make a move in 2012 to become one of the top programs in the South Atlantic Conference. Seniors Sofia Lopez Mimendi and Amber Stoerp both return to lead the Lady Railsplitters. Lopez Mimendi bounced back from an injury in 2010 to finish fifth in the SAC Championship last season and garner First Team All-SAC honors. She looks to end her career as the SAC overall champion, a feat she narrowly missed in 2009. Stoerp hopes to build on her All-SAC Second Team performance last season and move up to the elite first team. Aura Penalosa once again takes time out from tennis to run with the cross country team and looks to keep up the consistency she showed last season. Jamie Collins also returns and will look to step her performance up a notch in her sophomore campaign. Joining the team and bringing needed depth are Ontario Belter, Brittany Collins, Hayley Doty, Sarah Jones, Megan Mars and Laura Newman.
