How to INCREASE YOUR RATES IN 2025

Pricing Strategies for Estheticians

As the beauty industry evolves and the cost of doing business continues to rise, reassessing your pricing strategy is essential for maintaining a thriving esthetics practice. The new year is an ideal time to make these adjustments, ensuring your rates align with your growing expertise, the quality of your services, and market demands. Raising

your prices can feel daunting, but with the right approach, you can communicate the change effectively, retain client trust, and continue to deliver exceptional value. Here’s a step-by-step guide to raising your prices in 2025 with confidence and professionalism.

How to Increase Your Rates in 2025

Why Raising Your Prices is Essential in 2025

The cost of running an esthetics business has increased significantly in recent years, from rising product prices to higher rent and utilities. Adjusting your rates isn’t just about covering expenses—it’s about ensuring you’re compensated fairly for the value you provide.

By implementing a thoughtful pricing strategy, you create a sustainable business model that allows you to continue growing, investing in your craft, and delivering exceptional service. Clients who value your work will understand that their investment reflects the care and expertise they receive.

Raising your prices in 2025 is more than a business decision—it’s a commitment to yourself and your clients. With clear communication, a focus on value, and confidence in your worth, you can successfully navigate this transition and set your practice up for long-term success.

Evaluate the Market

Before setting new rates, research the competitive landscape in your area. Look at what other estheticians charge for services similar to yours. Are there significant differences in their pricing based on certifications, experience, or service enhancements?

If you offer niche services like Sculptural Face Lifting, buccal massage, or energybased therapies, ensure that your rates reflect the specialized expertise required to perform them effectively. Clients are often willing to pay more for unique offerings, especially when they perceive clear benefits.

Additionally, take into account regional economic factors, such as cost of living and disposable income levels. Understanding these elements helps you set a price point that is both competitive and sustainable.

Highlight Your Growth

When raising your prices, emphasize how you’ve grown as a professional and how this benefits your clients. Have you:

- Invested in advanced certifications or attended industry-leading workshops?

- Upgraded your equipment or introduced cutting-edge technologies, such as microcurrent devices or advanced skin analysis tools?

- Enhanced your service offerings to include additional steps or premium products?

These are all valid reasons for a price increase. Communicate these improvements through your marketing channels, such as your website, email campaigns, or social media. For example, you might post about the new techniques you’ve learned or the high-quality products you’ve added to your treatments, explaining how they elevate the client experience.

When clients understand that your pricing reflects your commitment to delivering superior results, they’re more likely to view the increase as an investment in themselves rather than an additional expense.

Communicate Clearly and Early Transparency is key when introducing a price adjustment. Announce your changes at least 30 days in advance to give clients ample time to prepare. Use multiple communication methods, such as:

Email: Send a professional yet personable email explaining the reasons for the price change and how it will enhance their experience.

Social Media Posts: Share updates on platforms where your clients engage with you, highlighting your dedication to quality and continuous improvement.

In-Person Conversations: For loyal clients, mention the change during their appointment. This approach feels more personal and allows you to address any concerns directly.

When framing the conversation, focus on the added value clients receive. For instance:

“We’re excited to share that starting [date], our service menu will reflect new pricing that supports the premium treatments and advanced techniques we offer. This adjustment allows us to continue providing exceptional care and results tailored to your unique needs.”

Offer Transition Options For long-time clients, especially those on a budget, the transition to higher pricing can feel challenging. To show appreciation for their loyalty and ease the adjustment, consider offering:

Bundled Packages: Introduce discounted packages that encourage clients to book multiple treatments upfront at a slightly lower rate.

Grandfathered Pricing: For a limited time, allow existing clients to continue booking at the old rate before the new prices take effect.

Raising your prices is a bold step that reflects your growth and professionalism.

Loyalty Rewards:

Offer perks such as free add-ons or product samples for clients who book at the new price, reinforcing the value of the updated rates.

These options not only soften the impact of the price change but also help foster a sense of trust and appreciation.

Reflect on Your Brand’s Value

A price increase isn’t just about covering rising costs; it’s a reflection of the value you bring to your clients. As you implement this change, take the time to evaluate what sets your practice apart.

Ask yourself:

- What experience do I offer that clients can’t get elsewhere?

- How do I consistently deliver results that exceed expectations?

- What unique elements of my brand resonate with my clients?

When you’re clear on your worth, it’s easier to convey this confidence to clients. Remember, people are willing to pay for quality and expertise, especially when they trust their provider.

Prepare for Client Reactions

While most clients will understand and support your decision, you may encounter some pushback. Be prepared to handle these conversations with empathy and professionalism. If a client expresses concern, acknowledge their feelings and reiterate your commitment to delivering value.

For example: “I understand that any price change can be challenging, and I want you to know that this decision was made with a lot of care. The new rates allow me to continue offering the high-quality treatments you deserve and have come to expect.”

If a client chooses not to continue with your services due to the price increase, don’t take it personally. Focus on attracting new clients who recognize and appreciate the value you provide.

Raising your prices is a bold step that reflects your growth and professionalism. Celebrate this milestone by sharing your achievements with your community. Post about your new certifications, share before-and-after results that showcase your expertise, or write a blog explaining how you’re continuously elevating your practice.

When clients see your passion and dedication, they’re more likely to support your journey and feel confident in your abilities.

Esty Education

microneedling treatments in my studio. For the hands-on session, The Esty Academy provided all materials onsite. The training began with a detailed review of microneedling theory, protocols, and prepping techniques. I also had the chance to test out Herbal Skin Solution’s products and devices.

The Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) / Micro-Needling + Nano-Infusion training with The Esty Academy was nothing short of transformative! Let me tell you about my experience. I traveled from Miami to Florida for a one-on-one session with Lead Educator Ashley Hanlon to become an Herbal Skin Solution CIT Pen Provider.

Before my hands-on training, I completed all lessons in the virtual training hub. The platform was incredibly comprehensive and user-friendly, offering a wealth of CIT/Micro-Needling and Nano-Infusion knowledge, resources, and tools. This prepared me to deliver the highest quality service to my clients. I also gained access to the Product Knowledge platform, where I dove into Herbal Skin Solution’s products and Saian technologies, including the skin scrubber and microcurrent machine. The training materials were detailed and thorough, leaving no stone un -

turned. I even got to watch videos on integrating advanced devices like the SkinBuddy into protocols. Learning about the science and intention behind each product’s formulation was a highlight for me. What impressed me most was that every product is suitable for all skin types, making them ideal for microneedling post-care and perfect for retail offerings.

During the training, I also received a microneedling treatment myself, followed by a post-care kit filled with products. Using them at home convinced me of their quality—and sparked my own interest in purchasing more from their line! This experience inspired me to incorporate similar kits into my practice, providing clients with tools to extend their treatment results and engage in their own skin’s transformation journey. Before the in-person training, I received a comprehensive kit equipped with everything needed to start offering

My training partner, another lovely esthetician named Ashley, and I alternated performing and receiving the treatment under the expert guidance of Ashley Hanlon. Two weeks posttreatment, my skin feels completely renewed—soft, supple, and incredibly healthy. Pairing the microneedling with AnteAge stem cells was a game-changer! The faster healing and enhanced results are undeniable.

FROM TOEducator Ethetician

Are you an esthetician with a passion for sharing your skincare wisdom? Exciting times are ahead! As the beauty and wellness industry evolves, more estheticians are stepping into the spotlight as educators, ready to inspire and guide the next generation of skincare professionals. With the rise of online learning and a growing demand for quality education in esthetics, 2025 is the perfect time to take the plunge into teaching. Here’s your step-by-step guide to making a smooth and successful transition from hands-on practitioner to engaging educator.

Assess Your Expertise

Before you embark on your journey as an educator, take stock of your skills and areas of expertise. Reflect on the techniques, treatments, and experiences that set you apart in your esthetics career. Consider what aspects of esthetics you’re most passionate about teaching. Whether it's advanced skincare techniques, business strategies, or holistic approaches, identifying your niche will help you create focused and engaging content for your students.

Develop a Curriculum

Creating a curriculum is essential for any educational program. Outline the topics you want to cover and the learning objectives for each section. Consider incorporating a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, ensuring that your curriculum reflects the current trends and practices in the industry. You may also want to gather feedback from peers or potential students to refine your offerings and ensure they meet market demands.

Choose Your Format

In 2025, there are various formats for delivering your courses. Consider whether you want to teach in-person workshops, online courses, or a hybrid model that combines both. Online platforms have become increasingly popular, allowing you to reach a broader audience. Think about what works best for your content and your target audience. If you choose to teach online, familiarize yourself with e-learning tools and technologies that can enhance your teaching experience.

Build Your Brand

Establishing a personal brand as an educator is crucial for attracting students. Create a professional website showcasing your qualifications, teaching philosophy, and course offerings. Utilize social media to promote your courses, share valuable content, and connect with your audience. Engaging with potential students through informative posts, webinars, or Q&A sessions can help establish your credibility and build a community around your brand.

Gain Teaching Experience

If you're new to teaching, consider gaining experience before launching your courses. Look for opportunities to teach workshops, mentor aspiring estheticians, or guest lecture at local beauty schools. This hands-on experience will not only help you refine your teaching style but also provide insight into what resonates with students. Plus, you’ll gain confidence in your ability to educate others.

Stay Updated with Trends

The beauty and wellness industry is everchanging, so it's crucial to stay informed about the latest trends, techniques, and technologies. Attend workshops, read industry publications, and engage in ongoing education to ensure your content remains relevant and current. By keeping your knowledge fresh, you’ll be better equipped to provide valuable insights to your students.

Network with Industry Professionals

Connecting with other educators, estheticians, and industry professionals can provide valuable insights and support during your transition. Attend industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to meet like-minded individuals. Building relationships with fellow educators can lead to collaborations and partnerships that enhance your teaching offerings and expand your reach.

Launch Your Courses

Once you’ve developed your curriculum, chosen your format, and built your brand, it’s time to launch your courses! Start with a soft launch to gather feedback from your initial students and make any necessary adjustments. Use testimonials and success stories to market your courses further and attract new students. Embrace feedback as a tool for continuous improvement and growth.

The demand for quality education in esthetics is growing, and your unique insights and experience can make a significant impact on the next generation of skincare professionals. Embrace this new chapter, and get ready to inspire and educate!

Esthetician Spotlight

What is your skincare philosophy when it comes to treating clients; skin, and how has it evolved throughout your career?

After earning my esthetics license, I was determined to master both the medical and holistic sides of the beauty industry. I pursued advanced certifications in clinical esthetics—such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and acne management— while also delving into holistic practices like reflexology, aromatherapy, chakra healing, herbal medicine, sound therapy, and lymphatic drainage.

My philosophy is that you don’t have to choose between relaxation and results in skincare. By merging natural elements with scientific advancements, I believe we can offer innovative, effective solutions that promote both inner and outer balance. This harmonious blend allows us to create transformative spa experiences and at-home routines for our clients, uniting the strengths of nature and technology.

At the core of my approach is the belief in the symbiotic relationship between skin and mind, individuals and the environment, and nature and technology. This philosophy informs everything I do—from product formulation to my understanding of beauty and my overall approach to skincare. It has continued to evolve, particularly through my experience developing a skincare series, which ultimately shaped my signature facial treatments and laid the foundation for my new professional holistic-clinical brand, JADÉ Complexions.

What makes facials at Complexions

Skincare Studio unique, and how do they reflect your integrative approach?

Each of my treatments is designed to nurture the individual on every level—skin, body, and mind. I wanted my facials to go beyond traditional skincare and become a full sensory experience. Our Signature 180 Facial embodies this vision by integrating

By combining these elements, our facials not only provide physical benefits but also offer deep mental and emotional rejuvenation, creating a lasting sense of well-being even after the client leaves the studio.

Your career spans over a decade, from esthetics to makeup artistry and education. What inspired you to integrate Eastern and Western skincare philosophies in your practice?

In 2019, I was inspired to rebrand my career and create an online series that offered a deeper look into my beauty and personal philosophies. I developed a YouTube series called Complexions by Jade, designed to provide viewers with a multi-sensory ASMR virtual spa experience. This project not only propelled my career to new heights but also revealed a significant desire among people for more from their self-care routines.

realized that skincare could transcend a mere routine and evolve into a holistic ritual for the skin, mind, and soul. This understanding sparked a new business venture: the creation of JADÉ Complexions and our trademarked approach, HOLISTICEUTICALS™, which combines the best of Eastern and Western medicinal teachings.

inner well-being—both personally and through my clientele over the past decade. I consistently emphasize to my clients that addressing both mental and internal health is crucial for achieving optimal skin vitality. While my signature services follow a similar sequence, I always personalize each session based on the client’s unique skin type and current concerns. I consider not just what I observe in the treatment room, but also what’s happening in their lives, their mindset, and their diet.

I reimagined my platform to allow individuals worldwide—estheticians and skincare enthusiasts alike—to learn about my transformative treatments, which encompass a 360° approach to wellness that nourishes the soul as much as the skin. I am incredibly passionate about my craft and have made it my mission to inspire other practitioners through this new approach to esthetics, one that I feel fosters lasting skin transformations and deeper connections with their clients.

Viewers were drawn to the integration of breathwork, meditation, and holistic techniques with classic skincare practices. As the series gained popularity, I

With your ASMR virtual spa series, Complexions by Jadé, you combined skincare with mental wellness. How do you think mental health and skin health are connected, and why Is it important for estheticians to address this connection?

The skin is the body’s largest organ, and I’ve witnessed how it reflects our

You developed the Crystalline Marine Facial Polish to help your brother overcome cystic acne, clogged pores and uneven texture. What was the process like formulating this product, and how did you ensure it would meet professional-grade standards?

I was inspired to create the Crystalline

Marine Facial Polish to help my younger brother, Stephen, with his cystic acne, clogged pores, and uneven texture. The state of his skin was beginning to affect his confidence and mental health. With a passion for formulating since esthetics school, I started experimenting with raw materials like herbs, clays, and natural oils. This journey led me to conduct in-depth research into sustainable ingredients, labs, and suppliers, which deepened my knowledge and passion for formulation and manufacturing.

Finding the right lab was challenging; in fact, I left four labs before I arrived at the formula we have today. Once I discovered the ideal blend, I sent samples to 95 estheticians within my community for testing to ensure it met professional-grade standards before being released to the public. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with rave reviews and data highlighting the formula’s effectiveness. I knew then that I had to bring this product to market, not only to help individuals like my brother but also to support other estheticians seeking transformative solutions for their clients.

You’ve worked with many high-profile beauty brands over the years. How have these experiences influenced the way you approach product development and client care at Complexions Skincare Studio?

I feel incredibly blessed to have worked with top professional and mainstream beauty brands throughout my 14-year career. This experience allowed me to test thousands of products on myself and my clients, revealing gaps in the industry. Frustrated that my clients lacked ac-

cess to the high-quality skincare they experienced during treatments, I began mixing my own blends and gifting them. This led me deeper into formulation and product development, where I learned about active ingredient levels, clean ingredients, and sustainable solutions.

Determined to create a brand built from the ground up, I spent five years ensuring it was highly efficacious, with quality active ingredients, recyclable, sustainable, and plant-based professional. I educate every client on this philosophy and how JADÉ Complexions products can enhance their at-home routines so that they can now achieve the same spa-quality results they receive in each of my facials.

What are some practical ways estheticians can address the emotional aspects of skincare, especially for clients dealing with acne, scarring, or other skin conditions that impact self-confidence?

At the studio, we prioritize understanding the emotional aspects of skincare by providing clients with an intake form before their treatment. This form includes questions about their nutritional habits, as well as whether they are experiencing any depression or anxiety. This information allows us to tailor their HOLISTICEUTICALS™ treatment to meet their unique needs.

Based on their responses, we customize the spa experience further by offering food suggestions that support their skin type, recommending essential oils for at-home breathwork, and selecting guided meditations that align with their current state of mind. By addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of skincare, we create a supportive environment that fosters selfacceptance and confidence, helping clients feel empowered on their skincare journey.

What is your favorite part of your career as an esthetician, and what do you love most about working in the skincare industry?

What I love most about my career as an esthetician is collaborating with other passionate professionals who share my enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field. I am exceptionally dedicated to education and nurturing fellow skincare professionals to elevate their careers. It has been my mission to create an unmatched support system within the industry, to become the go-to resource for those as dedicated as I am. I created the Complexions Community, an online destination for professionals eager to deepen their passion and achieve personal and professional success in the beauty world. The support I’ve witnessed in this group has brought me immense joy.

It has also been so fulfilling to be able to help people worldwide achieve their best skin and self through my educational content. Reading comments from followers who have cleared their skin or learned about meditation through my videos is incredibly rewarding. My purpose has always been to help others feel comfortable in their skin—whether through makeup in the

early days of my career or during one of my facials at the studio and I feel I am doing that through my platform.

If you could go back in time to when you first started your career as an esthetician and makeup artist, what advice would you give your younger self?

If I’m being honest, this question always makes me a bit emotional. The girl I was back then pursued her dreams despite facing many personal hardships. She struggled with selfconfidence and insecurities but always found a way to help others feel their best. If I could go back, I would show her everything she would eventually build because she remained true to herself and never let anything get in the way of her dreams.

I would tell her how loved she is and how proud she should be of what she accomplished at such a young age. Above all, I would remind her to be gentle with herself; she will get to exactly where she is meant to be and, along the way, help so many others do the same.
