Precedent 1: Cultural Center Guadalajara by K+P
The infrastructure Core with all the vital functions of the building independent, unaffected by surrounding and rigid, symbolizing the primitive state of humans before cultural refinement.
Around the primitive core they installed the circulation of the building, which they rotated to align with the urban front and the orientation of the building in the site
Around that infrastructure and circulation core the architect positioned the programmatic refined functions of the building indicating the social state of human beings. These spaces of the building as explained by their reference to the social human state require a contact with the surrounding cultural and social features. This connection was implemented by the architect in the faรงade.
Precedent 2: From East Bookstore by Science Architecture Studio
The bookstore is located in Shanghai, China in the northeast corner of the Ziqidonglai Central park facing the city street on the east and North faรงade and the park at the south and West. Due to the location the architects created a design revolving around the use of courtyards as a medium and connection between architecture, the city and nature. This connection was done using the wall as the main tool to execute this interrelation and special connection. The wall was used to create an entrance courtyard at the northeast facing the main streets then to continue enclosing the interior space of the building as seen above. The wall then continues creating courtyards and open spaces transitioning into the park.
