Why there’s parable like “color your world”? People often referring colors and fun, more colors are more fun. How’s color making fun? We have three primary colors, red, blue, and yellow, when we combine red and blue, they’ll become purple, when we combine red and yellow, they’ll become orange, when we combine blue and yellow, they become green. But when we mixing the three primary color lights they’ll become white, otherwise when we mixing three primary pigment they’ll become black. Black and white is only a mixture of colors, they are not color, then they aren’t fun, are they? Then we could learn something from colors... when we put in all together as one, there’s no fun (color) left, there’s only ‘no-fun’ (black and white). but when we mixing a part of them, they’ll become a new color, new shape, new fun.... when we combine a ‘new fun’ (color) with ‘another new fun’ (color), we make a new fun fun fun.... Thus when we combine a new color with another new color without mixing all together, we creating a new fun way to dress-up! Dressing up your world by coloring your outfit, fulfill your fashion desire!

1. What was the first local brands’ fashion apparel that you have? What is it? Why you bought it? Likwidiani : ciel. Elegant yet simple clothes, especially dress, that can make you look so gorgeous in a classy way, created by talented local designer Adi budiman : The first local brand apparel that I bought its (x).s.m.l when I hear biyan make a second line for younger market I’m so excited what’s it gonna be. And you know biyan it’s biyan so the collection its phenomenal and at that time I bought a shirt because its really quirky and cool different from any others.
2. Cocoon have many dresses collections, is it your segmentation? Why? We take butterflies metamorphosis as analogy for every collection that we have and In that circle of metamorphosis we know pupa, cocoon, and butterflies. For fall/winter we channeling pupa as a tough, masculine feminism girl in the collection, pre-fall and resort we have cocoon in collection its more free spirit and comforting , for spring/summer we take butterflies as a confidence girl who know what she gonna be and love to be in style that’s why in this cocoon s/s collection we have many dresses
3. If you likens Cocoon as a princess, who’s Cocoon gonna be? Describe her!
5. Cocoon has its own cutting, when you create each of it, who’s gonna wear them? Describe the lady’s body (legs, hips, etc.)!

Because they have a magic atmosphere with all cultural and modern uraban in the same city , the style in there its simple and sweet but with striking edge like cocon, A girl in the first date, a girl who come to art exhibition, a girl who wanna have fun in the city, a girl who enjoy her alone time in café read a book and drink tea, a girl who know what she wants and don’t care about what society think.
Yes, we have different kind of esthetic in designing but that’s a thing make us unique. Cocoon representing our imagination when a girl turn into a woman, just like people’s phase of life, they get into “next level” of their lives.
7. You’ve just graduated? What’s you gonna wearing in your graduation day?Describe it! Likwidiani : Yes. Im wearing Kebaya, traditional clothes from indonesia, with a puff chiffon detail on the arm, combine with modern touch in a dark blue colour. Im also wearing batikskirt in a light blue and grey colour. Adi budiman : keep it simple, dark gray slim fitted suites with two buttons, white shirt, skinny tie, and a pair of leather shoes. I just wanna make it everlasting because I don’t want a look like a fool when I see my pictures in a next 10 years and graduation just come once. 14

I’m a Local, (Indonesian) I have my own brand, i.e im designing clothes with my own local (Indonesian) tailor and I’m producing in Jakarta, but I’m using export textile, could we call it as local brands? How? Why? Yes, of course its still a local brand, because its made in Indonesia from the idea, a design and the production just because we get the export textile doesn’t mean its not local brand anymore because were also using exported sawing machine and a needle too right ? hehe and from that textile, you create some unique design and also diversity from around the world. You can create something from nothing with your creativity and your taste.
12. What’s your daily reading (website/book/magazine/etc.)? 8. Cocoon seemly more in blue and pink color, is it representing Cocoon enough? Why? Thus whats color which is a big no for representing Cocoon? it representing our second collection, sea creatures. Blue represent ocean, and pink represent physalia physalis (our muse for this collection), who lives in the ocean. She’s pretty and move gracefully in the sea, but she have powerful sting, could be deadly dangerous.

9. So……. What does Cocoon mean? Cocoon means something that envelops or surrounds, especially in a protective or comforting way. Butterfly metamorphosis as the analogy of cocoon collection. Girls are turning to be a woman, just like a cocoon becomes a butterfly.
10. Hmm local brands…. Define local brands! Could we referring local brands as localproducts? Or otherwise? Local product that created by local people, with their own creativity. Yes, localbrand is a local product, even if the textile are exported from abroad.

What does Selittoes mean?
Actually selittoes derived from extension word of Seven Light Shoes, “Seven” means seven colors of rainbow. Actually, It means that Selittoes has wide varieties of colors, design, and types of shoes. “Light” means a symbol of consciousness. With consciousness we’re going to be really aware with a good and bad thing in building a business and selecting employees, craftsmen and quality of shoes; right and wrong in decision-making; justice and injustice for the welfare of shareholder and employees; and also aware with honesty in working all day. In an abundance of light, We can also see the beauty of colors and love in Selittoes, These relate to our customers, We can see many customers who love a variety of colors and design of our shoes, love our brand “Selittoes”, and at the end, we can also see our loyal customers.
2. What’s the concept of Sellitoes itself? We design our shoes with our customers needs in mind. That is why we offer wide varieties of shoes such as flats, loafers, moccasins, clogs, heels, wedges and also boots. Then our products are not only stylish and up to date but also comfortable.
3. When was it created? How was it happened? Why did you create Sellitoes ? Selittoes is a 100%-handmade local brand established by two best friends who are deeply in love with various kind of shoes (flats, loafers, moccasins, clogs, heels, wedges and also boots). We started from flipping through fashion magazines and looking at all kinds of pretty shoes to lift up our mood. We then collected pictures and photos of shoes in a scrap book for our own inspiration.
What words do people use to describe you?
“Comfortable, Stylish, and Custom”
One day, we had this thought that it would be very exciting if we could modify our shoes based on our imagination. However, it is rather difficult to find a store, be it a real one or an online one, that could cater to such request. We finally managed to find craftsmen who could impressively put our thoughts and creations into reality. After our third pair of lovely and comfortable shoes crafted with satisfying result, innovating, pouring more imagination into the design. We couldn’t be any happier! Starting from a mere hobby and a passion to create a business out of it, we decided to start our very own brand of comfortable and custommade shoes, Selittoes Shoes, on November 21st, 2010. 18

Selittoes become a famous Local Brand in Indonesia. Selittoes has its own store in Malls and some cities, more comfortable shoes, more crative design, more ready stock, and also has many workshops with good employees and craftsmen.
Fashion in Indonesia today is a vastly growing rapidly. Now, Indonesian people is increasingly aware of fashion, many people who know and understand the latest trend or even to come, the magazines talk a lot about the local fashion. Television has become a reference and a “cheat sheet” to dress at this time, Artist in the style of dress was widely imitated. The growing public demand, especially urban communities, requires many entrepreneurs to open a business in fashion, therefore many young fashion designers in Indonesia opened their own boutique that could rival the quality of brands that are well known. Fashion today can be said that it is not just clothes that stick to your body, it’s a lifestyle, a status in society, and become self-expression.
