Triton Air has been the top heating, ventilation, and air conditioning service provider in South Orange County for more than twenty years. With over 3,000 reviews, it also has the honor of being the most-reviewed company in the region and a perfect 5.0-star rating among competitors in the area. This dual achievement in quantity and quality of customer feedback is no surprise to Luis Montiel, General Manager and 12-year veteran of Triton, because he's lived and breathed its customer-first principles for so long. Still, his biggest news is service-related: Triton Air is now Triton Air & Plumbing, expanding into plumbing services to be a "whole service provider for the whole house." It's a move that makes sense and one that some longtime Triton customers have been requesting for years.
"Our mission has always been to positively impact people's lives," says Luis. "By adding plumbing services to our portfolio, we can now care for two of life's most essential elements: the air we breathe and the water we use."
This strategic expansion builds upon Triton's reputation for exceptional service and com-

munity-focused values. Triton is ready to offer even more home services beyond HVAC, from its San Clemente headquarters to its newer Laguna Niguel facility.
A Natural Evolution
The decision to venture into plumbing services wasn't just about business growth—it was about meeting their customers' basic home repair needs. "We've built trust with our community through our HVAC services,"explains Karyn Lerdahl, Office Manager. "Adding plumbing services like leak detection, drain clearing and installations of water heaters and filtration systems seemed like a logical next step."
Quality and Expertise in Every Service
Just as they've done with HVAC, Triton Air is approaching plumbing with an unwavering commitment to excellence. Their plumbing division employs experienced professionals who share the company's values of integrity, expertise, and customer-first service. Whether it's a routine maintenance check or an emergency repair, customers can expect the same prompt, professional service that has become Triton's hallmark.
The company's expansion has also created new opportunities for growth within its team. Luis says adding plumbing services has opened up new pathways for professional development and technical expertise within the company. Taking care of people has always been Triton's "why," but developing its staff to become subject matter experts and skilled tradespeople has also been a priority.
Sustainability Meets Innovation
True to their forward-thinking approach, Triton's plumbing services incorporate the latest water conservation technology and sustainable practices. Just as they've promoted energy-efficient HVAC solutions and heat pumps, their plumbing division emphasizes water-saving fixtures and systems that benefit homeowners and the county's water conservation efforts.
Triton isn't just fixing pipes and unclogging drains; they're helping homeowners optimize their water usage, reduce their water bills, and ensure the safety and quality of their water supply. It's about creating a healthier home from every angle.
Community Impact
Triton Air & Plumbing's commitment to community service remains stronger than ever. Their expanded services allow them to make an even more significant positive impact in South Orange County. The company continues its support of local initiatives, including San Clemente High School athletics and various charitable causes, while now being able to offer more comprehensive assistance to families in need.
Triton sees a future where it can serve as a one-stop solution for home comfort and safety. By combining its HVAC expertise with quality plumbing services, the team is better positioned to help the community thrive. "It's about being there for our customers in more ways than one," Luis says.
For residents of South Orange County seeking reliable HVAC or plumbing services, Triton Air continues to set the standard for excellence and community-focused care. Their expansion into plumbing services is a new chapter for the company and reaffirms their commitment to serving the needs of every family in Orange County.

If you discover mold on your walls or around your windows, it’s time to call South County Restoration in San Clemente. Owner Casey McCants has been inundated with calls this season due to the record rainfall. Homes with older roofs or poorly installed windows are especially vulnerable to water intrusion, which can worsen as temperatures rise. Acting quickly can help prevent costly damage and health risks.
As a trusted leader in water restoration, South County Restoration specializes in detecting, remediating, and repairing water-related issues. Casey brings years of expertise to every job, guiding homeowners through the often-complex process of filing insurance claims. His team ensures claims are handled correctly to secure fair compensation. “You open the claim, we’ll do the rest,” Casey says, offering much-needed reassurance during stressful times.

Casey’s unique background as a general contractor and homeowner advocate ensures every detail is managed efficiently and professionally. “It’s such a confusing time for homeowners. Left unchecked, mold can cause serious health issues, particularly for those with respiratory conditions or weakened immune systems. The company emphasizes the importance of prevention to avoid long-term complications.
While rain is a common culprit, other sources like pinhole leaks, floods, or burst pipes can also lead to water damage. No matter the cause, South County Restoration is equipped to handle everything from water extraction and drying to cleaning, sanitization and full property restoration. Using advanced tools and techniques, they work quickly to restore your home to its original condition.
Available 24/7, South County Restoration’s Rapid Response Team ensures fast arrival times and immediate assistance. Before contacting your insurance company, call Casey at 949-536-8204. For more information about their services, visit SouthCountyRestoration.com.

This energyefficient design can lead to significant savings on your energy bills and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, tankless water heaters typically have a longer lifespan than traditional water heaters, which reduces the need for frequent replacements and ultimately decreases waste. Overall, the eco-friendly benefits of tankless water heaters make them a smart choice for environmentally conscious homeowners.
Socal Tankless is not merely a plumbing service provider but a cornerstone of the community, combining decades of expertise with a genuine passion for service and community support.

VERSATRACTION
Harris & Howard Farber
When VersaTraction first introduced its adhesive traction for surfboards, the founders couldn’t have imagined the waves they’d make beyond the water. Launched in 2007, VersaTraction quickly became a favorite among surfers seeking a durable and versatile alternative to traditional surf wax. Building on that success, the team expanded their expertise in adhesive technology to tackle outdoor safety, developing step treads for pool decks and landscape stones under the brand Kahuna Grip.
The company’s biggest breakthrough, however, came from an unexpected and personal accident. After one of the founders suffered a serious fall in the bathtub, requiring months of recovery, the team saw an opportunity to rethink bathroom safety. That moment inspired the creation of VersaTraction’s innovative bathmats: all-natural, clear adhesive mats designed to stay firmly in place without abrasive materials or glass.
What sets these bathmats apart is their thoughtful design. They leave no sticky residue, are soft to the touch, and easy to clean. Their standout feature, however, is water activation—when wet, the mats become exceptionally grippy, performing best when fully submerged. Dry, they maintain a smooth, rubbery feel that’s gentle and safe for bare feet.
Users rave about how seamlessly the mats blend into the surface of tubs and showers, to the point that they often forget they’re there.
The mats don’t shift or bunch, eliminating trip hazards, and they prevent water buildup underneath, reducing mold and mildew risks common with traditional removable mats.
From surfboards to bathtubs, Kahuna Grip’s evolution showcases the power of innovation and adaptability in solving everyday safety challenges. By staying true to their mission of creating safer environments, the company has turned a niche surf product into a trusted household solution.
Kahuna Grip products are available at Versatraction.com, Amazon, and QVC. To explore their offerings in person, call (714) 973-4589 to schedule a visit to their Santa Ana warehouse. Please note, products are not sold in stores.

DANA POINT HARDWARE
Billy
Barker
In the late 1950s, Bill Sandberg began his career in the hardware industry in his hometown of Burbank, California. After marrying Carolyn, the two purchased Frazier Park Lumber and Hardware, where they worked tirelessly while raising their family in Los Angeles.
By 1976, they decided it was time for a new chapter. Selling the business, they set their sights on finding a coastal location to establish a store of their own. Bill and his brother Bernie scoured the coastline of Orange County, traveling as far south as Oceanside, in search of the perfect spot. They ultimately discovered the charming beach town of Dana Point, a community that felt like home. That December, Bill, Carolyn and Bernie opened the doors of Dana Point Hardware.
In those early days, sacrifices were made to ensure the fledgling business thrived. Bill and Carolyn lived in a tiny trailer behind the hardware store for the first year. Eventually, they purchased a sailboat docked in Dana Point Harbor and made it their home for an impres-
sive 17 years. Their unique lifestyle became a testament to their dedication and resilience.
The Sandberg family’s involvement in the store grew as time went on. Bill and Carolyn’s children, Bill Jr. and Susan Sandberg (now Basanda), joined the family business, with Bill Jr.’s wife, Carla, also contributing to the operation. Their children grew up working in the store, learning the values of hard work and community service. Among them was Susan’s son, Billy Barker, who found his passion in the family business. Starting in 1998, Billy took on increasing responsibilities and now manages all dayto-day operations.
Today, Dana Point Hardware is a four-generation family legacy. Billy’s daughters, Ava, Lexi and Jaiah, often lend a hand, running registers and assisting customers with the same friendly service the Sandbergs are known for. Whether serving local tradesmen or do-it-yourselfers, the
team at Dana Point Hardware is dedicated to providing top-quality home improvement products and superior customer care.
Proud to be a part of Dana Point’s history, Billy Barker invites you to visit their neighborhood hardware store on Del Prado Avenue. Stop by and let the Sandberg family help you with your next project.
GENTLE GENIE RUG CARE
Eric Bollmann
Gentle Genie Rug Care offers your area rugs the most thorough cleaning they’ve ever received—a process they proudly call restorative deep cleaning. Whether your rug is a cherished heirloom, a high-end designer piece, or a functional part of your home, Gentle Genie ensures it gets the care and attention it deserves.
The process begins with a meticulous rug dusting, designed to extract dry soil, gritty sand, and embedded particles from deep within the fibers and foundation of your rug. This essential first step not only protects your rug from premature wear but also prepares it for a deep and effective cleaning. Once dusting is complete, your rug moves to the wash floor for a mild yet thorough shampooing of both the front and back. During this stage, Gentle Genie also applies any necessary stain or odor treatments, ensuring your rug is fully refreshed.
The magic continues as Gentle Genie’s stateof-the-art river of water flushes and rinses
fresh water through your rug until it runs completely clean. This process removes all remaining dirt and residue, leaving your rug as fresh as the day it was made. A final conditioning rinse enhances the softness and vibrancy of your rug’s fibers, followed by water extraction and placement in a high-powered centrifuge to remove excess moisture. The finishing steps include careful drying and grooming to ensure your rug is returned looking its absolute best.
Pricing for this comprehensive cleaning is $5 per square foot, with optional pick-up and delivery services available at $65 each way. Gentle Genie provides convenience and peace of mind, especially for large or delicate rugs.

REYNOLDS TERMITE CONTROL
Mike Reynolds
Reynolds Termite Control in San Clemente is your best line of defense against termites and all types of wood destroying pests. Since 1978, Mike Reynolds, along with the help of his father Bill Reynolds, have provided homeowners in South Orange County with quality and effective termite control services. After his father retired in 1991, Mike and his dedicated and helpful employees have continued serving this industry. Mike was born and raised in San Clemente and is a class of 1980 Triton graduate.
In most buildings, the best defense against termites and wood destroying insects is a great of-fense. One of Reynolds Termite Control’s best plans is the Yearly Control Service Policy. This option provides owners with a comprehensive annual inspection and local treatment of visible and accessible termite evidence
at no additional cost… any time of the year. The company offers very competitive rates for local treatments, whole house fumigations, dry rot and all types of wood repairs for residential, commercial and homeowners associations.
Reynolds Termite has been serving the local real estate market for over 45 years. “Your home is an investment; protect it,” says Mike Reynolds. “Quality termite control starts with the best inspection and we are just the company to do it.” Orange County’s climate takes its toll on wood framed structures, from the moist, salty air along the coast to hotter and cooler condi-tions found inland. These weather fluctuations provide an environment for termites, fungus and dry rot to spread throughout your structure. Property owners are often unaware they have a problem until Reynolds Termite Control completes an expert inspection.
If you are unsure when your property had its last inspection or treatment, it’s time to contact Reynolds Termite Control for a whole house or limited inspection at 949.498.3500. Throughout the month of February, Reynolds is offering a 5% discount on all localized termite treatments, whole house fumigations and woodwork.

HOW CALIFORNIA'S INSURANCE CHANGES IMPACT YOU
As of 2025, California’s minimum auto insurance policy limits have significantly increased for the first time in decades. The new minimums now require at least $30,000 of insurance coverage for bodily injury per person, $60,000 per accident, and $15,000 for property damage—up from the previous $15,000/$30,000/$5,000 limits.
These new limits mark a turning point for personal injury claims, offering injured parties better opportunities to recover the compensation they deserve. However, don’t expect insurance companies to play fair—they’ll still work aggressively to protect their bottom line.
Why You Need an Attorney
Navigating these changes without legal representation puts you at risk of leaving money on the table. At Wunderli Injury Law, we ensure that insurance companies don’t take advantage of you. We:
• Investigate your claim thoroughly to uncover every available source of compensation.
• Handle negotiations with insurers to secure the maximum payout.
• Protect your rights and fight for the full value of your injuries, even if it means going to court.
Don’t settle for less than you deserve. With the new policy limits, having an experienced attorney is more important than ever to ensure you are fully compensated for your injuries. Call

Min’s Min’s Dumpling Dumpling
BY DINA SCAGLIONE
With the winter chill still lingering, there’s nothing quite like warm, flavorful comfort food to satisfy the soul. Just in time for the season, San Clemente welcomes Min’s Dumpling on Del Mar—a delightful new spot offering fresh and authentic dishes that go beyond your typical Chinese takeout.
Min’s serves up a rich menu featuring fluffy, handmade steamed dumplings, crispy pot stickers, stir-fried favorites, and more. These dumplings are anything but ordinary: light, tender, and generously filled with options like classic pork, comforting chicken soup, or a hearty vegan blend of cabbage, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and glass noodles. Other must-tries include the BBQ pork buns, deep-fried mini buns, and steamed custard buns. The steamed sweet buns are a particular fan favorite, offering just the right amount of sweetness to end your meal on a high note.
For those who love a crispy bite, the pan-seared pot stickers, filled with your choice of pork, chicken, or shrimp alongside cabbage, ginger, and green onion, are sure to please. Meanwhile, Min’s stir-fry dishes, like white-meat orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and tender Mongolian beef, offer bold, satisfying flavors.
The menu’s side dishes are no afterthought, either. Highlights include the deep-fried string beans, perfectly sautéed in a savory brown sauce, and the chicken fried rice, loaded with sliced chicken breast, peas, carrots, green onions, and eggs. If you’re starting with appetizers, the crispy scallion pancakes (dubbed “Chinese pizza”) deliver a flaky exterior with a soft, chewy interior. Or try the crispy sesame balls filled with red bean paste, and don’t miss the potato string shrimp—light, crunchy, and paired with a tangy dipping sauce. For a refreshing balance, the cucumber salad and seaweed salad add a zesty, nutritious touch.
Open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Min’s Dumpling is the perfect spot for both dine-in and takeout. Whether you’re gathering with friends or simply indulging in a quiet meal, Min’s cozy atmosphere and satisfying menu make it an irresistible addition to San Clemente’s dining scene—comfort food for any season.
