An ever-changing selection of cakes and sweet treats also make the perfect accompaniment to a barista coffee. Cafe founders Karen and Leighton were drawn to the community spirit of the Northern Rivers and the wealth of beautiful produce available here and are all about supporting local businesses — which means the freshest local ingredients and a range of local products for sale, including jams, beauty products and candles. While many coffee roasters in Australia source their beans overseas, the Zentveld family have been growing, roasting, blending and brewing their coffee right here in the beautiful hills of Byron since 1993. Visitors are offered a genuine crop to cup experience, so you can sip a delicious fresh brew at the Coffee House overlooking the coffee trees and rainforest, then stock up on signature coffee, syrups, elixirs and chocolates. At the heart of the estate is a firm commitment to organic, regenerative farming and biodiversity. Beans are naturally pesticide-free, and well-established rainforest plantings have created a lively wildlife corridor and habitat for wallabies, echidnas, birds, and bees.
All-day breakfast fans are happily indulged at The Palm, an atmospheric family-owned cafe and bar right in the heart of Pottsville, where the focus is on wholesome dishes cooked on-site using the freshest local ingredients. It’s all about the details, and everything is beautifully presented, which adds to the pleasure of a meal here. On the breakfast menu, fig and hazelnut fruit toast with cinnamon butter, smashed avo, and a decked-out breakfast burrito washed down, of course, with great coffee. More in the mood for lunch? How about a beef and cheeseburger, poached chicken and haloumi salad or zucchini fritter salads? Take a seat out on the sidewalk to enjoy a spot of people watching or enjoy the buzz of the terrace at the back. Friday and Saturday nights have a fun party vibe with Mexican food, music and margaritas.
