BRIEF TITLE: ITALIAN BAKERY Brief: To create branding and printed collateral for a high-end rustic Italian bakery & cafe. Background: Italian food has become a very popular meal option in recent years, however this has been limited to stereotypical meal choices of pizza and pasta, and not on the whole range of classic and rustic Italian food that there is. Considerations: What products? Location & area – is this a one off store or a chain? What areas of design are instrumental in gaining customers? Are there currently any other retailers similar? BRIEF TITLE: EUROSTAR RE-BRAND Brief: Re-brand the Eurostar and promote the services and destinations. Background: Eurostar is a high-speed railway service connecting London with Paris and Brussels. All its trains traverse the Channel Tunnel between the United Kingdom and France, owned and operated separately by Eurotunnel. It was first in operation in 1994.

Considerations: What promotional material does Eurostar already have? Where is this/how do you get it? What promotional material could they have? /Do they need? Where would the audience see this/interact with this? BRIEF TITLE: TYPEFACE Brief: To create a full useable typeface. Background: To create a modern, sans serif full useable typeface that works in different sizes and weights. The inclusion of glyphs, numbers and foreign letters. Considerations: What other typefaces are like this which work well? Why do these work well? How are these successful typefaces constructed? Grids, Kerning, Anatomy. What makes a typeface useable? What situation would this typeface needed to be used it? What situation could this typeface be used in? Mandatory Requirements: Blogged research – anatomy of type, useable typefaces, sans serif typefaces, situations of using these specific typefaces Blogged development – what works, what doesn’t work, grids, layout, when can this be broken? Should it be broken? BRIEF TITLE: NEW YORK TRAVEL PACK Brief: To create a promotional travel pack about New York city, to be given to travellers and tourists. Detailing area, hotspots, facts & helpful hints about the city, it is a guide that would be kept before and throughout the stay. Background: New York City – ‘The Big Apple’ – is one of the most famous cities in the world. It is famous for multiple reasons and attracts millions of tourists each year. Considerations: Are there any current promotional travel packs around? Where for? Involving what? What is it about New York that should be promoted? Where would this travel pack be? How would people interact with it? What else can it be used for as well as a promotional pack? Background: Television has quickly become a dominating feature in the world today. With so many genres of shows and strong characters, it has fast become a popular must-watch for today’s generation. Considerations: What television shows? Specific genre? Specific country? Specific time frame? What sort of publication? How large? Digital as well? Is this in association with anyone? Film4 etc. Is it purchasable? Where would it be purchased? Why?
