Originally marketed as the "Soundabout" in the U.S., the "Stowaway" in the U.K, Sony soon SONY WALKMAN had the new name "Walkman" embossed into the metal tape cover of the device.

2001 IPOD
Though the iPod was released in 2001, its price and Mac-only compatibility caused sales to be relatively slow until 2004. The aesthetic was inspired by the 1958 Braun T3 transitor radio designed by Dieter Rams, while the wheel based user interface was prompted by Bang & Olufsen's BeoCom 6000 telephone. The product was developed in less than one year and unveiled on October 23, 2001. Jobs announced it as a Mac-compatible IPOD product with a 5 GB hard drive that put "1,000 songs in your pocket."

PIXELATE ABOUT PIXELATE PIXELATE is a brand with the aim of showing the world the effects consumerism has had on technological products. PIXELATE intends to show how large corporations have twisted the purpose of products for their own gain; changing, adapting and modifying the products to something unrecognisable from their original purpose. These messages are shown across a wide range of printed material, each individually created to relate to the product chosen and show the audience the pure hold consumerism and brands have over the development of technological products.
