Who Am I? I’m Emily Lodge, a Graphic Design student who has just started my third year on the (BA) Graphic Design course at Leeds College Of Art. I work across a variety of different areas of design and industry sectors. I particularly enjoy Branding, Editorial and Promotional work. I excel in these areas due to the large quantity of deliverables and media these use. I work in both print and digital media and mainly in a digital format as this is where my design strengths lie. Typography is a large part of my design practice and something that I am passionate about. I enjoy the practice of experimenting with type layout and type design, often creating my own typefaces.

YCN Domino’s Pizza The brief was set as part of the YCN Student Awards. The brief was to reassert Domino’s Pizza’s ownership of the ‘Two-For-Tuesdays’ deal. Restrictions were that only the Domino’s colours of red, blue and white could be used, as well as specified typefaces and photographic images. Using Domino’s witty and humorous tone of voice, my response was to create the ‘50 Reasons/Find A Friend’ campaign. This plays on the idea of giving the customer 50 reasons not to buy the product, and telling them how sad they are if they fit the reasons. The response is across both printed media and web, with a focus on larger promotional posters. The web element is to get the customers more involved with the deal.
