สวัสดีครับผู้โดยสารทุกท่านขณะนี้ นิตยสาร Lionmag ก็ได้เดินทางมาถึงฉบับที่ 5 กันแล้ว เรายังคงไว้ซึ่งเนื้อหาสาระ เกี่ยวกับสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวต่าง ๆ รวมไปถึง เรื่องราวอัปเดต มากมายน�ำเสนอให้ผู้อ่านได้ผ่อนคลายกันบนเที่ยวบิน ในขณะเดินทางกันอย่างต่อเนื่องครับ ส�ำหรับเนื้อหาในฉบับนี้ เราจะพาคุณเดินทางกลับมา สู่เมืองหลวงกรุงเทพมหานคร เมืองที่เต็มไปด้วยเรื่องราว และสีสันทั้งยามกลางวันและกลางคืน แม้ว่าช่วงที่ผ่าน มากรุงเทพมหานครดูเหมือนจะกลายเป็นศูนย์รวม เกี่ยวกับเรื่องความไม่ปกติของสถานการณ์ แต่สิ่งที่น่า แปลกใจคือรอยยิ้มและการใช้ชีวิตของคนเมืองหลวง ก็ยังไม่มีอะไรเปลี่ยนแปลงไปจากเดิม กรุงเทพก็ยังคง เป็นเมืองที่เต็มไปด้วยสีสัน ห้างสรรพสินค้าหลายแห่ง ทั้งระดับไฮคลาส จนถึงชอปปิ้งมอลล์เรียงรายเปิดตัวเพื่อ รองรับไลฟ์สไตล์คนเมืองและนักท่องเที่ยวกันอย่างต่อเนื่อง รวมทั้งวัดวาอารามแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่มีคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรม ก็ยังเปิดปกติให้เที่ยวชมในวันนี้ เมืองหลวงที่ไม่เคยหลับใหล ก็ยังคงเปิดต้อนรับนักเดินทาง และเป็นจุดพักส�ำหรับ การเดิ น ทางที่ เ ชื่ อ มต่ อ ไปยั ง จั ง หวั ด อื่ น ได้ อ ย่ า ง ไม่เคยเปลี่ยนแปลง สุดท้ายนี้ ไทย ไลอ้อน แอร์ ก็ยังมีบริการเที่ยวบิน น�ำ ท่านสู่จังหวัดต่าง ๆ อีกเช่นเคย อาทิ ดอนเมือง-หาดใหญ่, ดอนเมือง-เชียงใหม่, ดอนเมือง-จากาต้า และอีกหลาย ๆ จังหวัดที่จะมีเพิ่มขึ้น เพือ่ อ�ำนวยความสะดวกในไม่ชา้ นี้ แน่นอนครับ แล้วพบกันฉบับหน้า สวัสดีครับ

For this volume, we will take you back to Bangkok, the capital city that has interesting events at day and night. For those who wish to apply for a cabin crew position, they must answer themselves whether they do love service jobs, whether they are tolerant enough towards pressure, whether this is their real dreams and intentions. Moreover, qualifications are involved. The qualifications include language usage, physical health, swimming skill, and basic knowledge on food and medicine. If you match the qualifications, you can apply for a cabin crew position. สวัสดีค่ะ ออย รัตน์พิสุทธิ์ สกุลหมั่นเขต อายุ 27 ปี จบการ ศึกษาจากสาขาวิชาการศึกษานอกระบบ คณะครุศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์ มหาวิทยาลัยค่ะ เป็นลูกเรือรุ่นที่ 4 ของ Thai Lion Air ค่ะ การบริการบนเครื่องบินเป็นอะไรที่ท้าทายค่ะ เพราะออยคิด ว่าความคาดหวังของผู้โดยสารต่อการใช้บริการบนเครื่องบินนั้นมี มาก และด้วยบรรยากาศในการเดินทางที่มีกิจกรรมให้ท�ำไม่มากนัก ผู้โดยสารจ�ำเป็นต้องนั่งนาน ๆ ไม่ได้ไปไหน เพราะฉะนั้นความ สุขที่ผู้โดยสารจะได้รับจากการเดินทางจึงเป็นการบริการที่ดีเยี่ยม โดยพนักงานต้อนรับและเซอร์วิสต่าง ๆ ที่ทางสายการบินเตรียมไว้ มอบให้ การบริการบนเครื่องจึงต้องตอบโจทย์ผู้โดยสารได้ด้วยทรัพยากร ที่มีจ�ำกัด แน่นอนค่ะว่าบางสิ่งที่ผู้โดยสารต้องการเราคงไม่สามารถที่ จะหาให้บนเครื่องบินได้ แต่พนักงานต้อนรับจะต้องใช้หัวใจแห่งการ บริการท�ำให้ผู้โดยสารพึงพอใจจากสิ่งที่เรามีให้มากที่สุดค่ะ ท�ำไมต้องเป็น Thai Lion air

ความประทับใจในการท�ำงานของออยมีเยอะมาก ๆ เลยค่ะ เพราะทุก ๆ ครั้งที่ไปบินจะเจอเหตุการณ์ที่ไม่ซ�้ำกันเลย ส่วนใหญ่ ที่ประทับใจมาก ๆ จะเป็นเรื่องที่ผู้โดยสารจ�ำเราได้ค่ะ เพราะเราบิน ในประเทศค่อนข้างบ่อย ผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางเป็นประจ�ำก็จะทักทาย เราว่าเคยเจอเรามาก่อน แล้วชื่นชมว่าชอบการบริการทั้งของออย และของไทย ไลอ้อน แอร์ มาก ๆ ท�ำให้ออยประทับใจแล้วพยายาม ที่จะจดจ�ำผู้โดยสารเพื่อเจอกันครั้งหน้าเราจะได้ทักทายผูกมิตร ผู้ โดยสารจึงเลือกใช้บริการกับเราตลอด ยามว่างจากการท�ำงานท�ำอะไรบ้าง

ยามว่างออยมีกิจการส่วนตัวค่ะ ท�ำธุรกิจส่วนตัว เรียกว่า ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงของการท�ำงานเลยจริง ๆ ค่ะ เป็นธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับความสวย ความงาม ท�ำให้เราเป็นคนชอบดูแลตัวเองให้ดูดีอยู่เสมอ หากว่าง จากการท�ำงานก็จะชอบดูหนังฝึกภาษาอังกฤษ หรืออ่านหนังสือ พัฒนาตนเองค่ะ อยากฝากอะไรถึงน้อง ๆ

ถึงน้องที่อยากเป็นลูกเรือทุกคน ออยขอแนะน�ำในเรื่องของการ เตรียมตัว เตรียมตัวให้พร้อมไว้ค่ะ ทั้งเรื่องของการฝึกภาษา บุคลิกภาพ เมื่อโอกาสมาถึงแล้วเราพร้อมแล้วก็ไม่ต้องกังวล ท�ำให้เต็มที่ เป็น ตัวของตัวเอง ส่วนคนที่ยังไม่ได้ก็ไม่ต้องท้อใจ ขอแค่เราสม�่ำเสมอและ ไม่ล้มเลิก วันหนึ่งต้องเป็นวันของเรา การสอบเป็นแอร์ว่ายากแล้ว แต่การเป็นแอร์ที่ดีนั้นยากกว่า งานเราต้องเป็นได้ทุกอย่าง ต้องดูแล ความปลอดภัยของผู้โดยสาร ไม่ใช่เพียงคนรับใช้บนเครื่องบินอย่าง ที่หลายคนเข้าใจ ยังไงออยก็เป็นก�ำลังใจให้น้อง ๆ ทุกคนค่ะ แล้ว เจอกันบนฟ้านะคะ

Sawasdee, My name is Oil, Rattabapisut Sakulmunkhet. I am 27 years old. I graduated from non-formal education program, Faulty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. I am #4 Cabin Crew of Thai Lion Air. Onboard service is challenging because I think customers’ expectations towards onboard service are full. The customers have only a few activities to do onboard and they need to sit still for so long. So, their trip happiness usually comes from excellent service of flight attendants and airline services. Onboard service is required to response the passengers’ demands using limited resources. Of course, there is also something that we cannot serve them onboard. However, flight attendants must provide their services from the hearts to create maximum passenger satisfaction. Why did you choose Thai Lion Air?

The first feeling towards Thai Lion Air is that I love the flight attendant uniform. Many passengers also say so because the uniform is different from other Thai airlines. Still, what I perceive of Thai Lion Air is the organizational growth. It has rapid growth, compared with its competitors. With the business plans, I am confident that the company is stable. The airplanes are brand-new so the passengers can ensure about the safety. Moreover, the company provides strong training programs for the pilots and the cabin crews. So, I trust Thai Lion Air so much. What Is your impression during operation?

I have a lot of work impression, actually. Every time I fly, I always face many different events. One impression is that some passengers remember me because I am always responsible for in-country flights. Those who travel a lot usually say that they remember that they used to see me. Moreover, some give me compliments for my service and Thai Lion Air. I am impressed and try to remember frequent passengers so that I can greet them with friendliness. Hence, many passengers choose to fly with Thai Lion Air. What do you usually do in your leisure time?

I have my own business also. My business is a beauty business so I usually take good care of myself. When I have free time, I love to watch movies in order to practice my English skill or read self-improvement books. Do you have anything to say to your cabin crew juniors?

I would like to give advice on self-preparation. You should be ready for language skill and personality. So, you can immediately grab good opportunities when they arrive. Just do your best and be yourself. For those who have been rejected, please don’t give up. Just keep practicing. Your day will come one day. Cabin crew selection process is difficult. Nonetheless, to be a good air hostess is even more difficult. Our job is about passenger safety. We are not just onboard servants but we must perform every task. I would like to cheer you up. The above statement is the full ceremonial name of the capital city of Thailand.The name is listed in Guinness World Records as the world’s longest place name. The name is long enough for composing a song for young people to listen and remember the name. There is no exact answer for the question that “how Bangkok will be in 2016?” Nonetheless, the traditions and loveliness of Thai people will never change as foreigners call this country as “Thailand, the land of smiles”. I am a country person. When I was young, I wanted to come to this capital city. I wanted to be on the top of a tall building, and then see the civilized city as much as I can and the exciting colors of the city at night. Regarding interesting places in this city, it has various types of tourist attractions. It is a colorful city at day and night. Many historical events occurred in this city. New knowledge can be found everywhere in the city. There is no time limit for tourism. Only a small budget is enough for touring in this city. The significant tourist attractions with a large number in Bangkok are palaces and temples that represent Thai identities and have been situated for hundred years.

13 These places are such as the Grand Palace, Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall, Wat Phrasriratana Sasdaram and Wat Phra Chettuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Ratchaworamahawihan. Even though Bangkok seems to be a city with many tall concrete buildings, but it has a number for pleasant public and health parks that people can rest, relax and exercise. Other interesting places are shopping centers including the Chinatown (Yaowarat), Chatuchak Market, Suan-Lum Night Bazaar, Siam Square, Pratu Nam, Si Lom, Sukhumvit, Khao San Road and Talingchan Floating Market. What I cannot forget is lives on boats. This is a new and attractive way of lives for foreigners. Either floating markets or water transportation can entertain foreign tourists. These are also good points that make Bangkok become a pleasant city. Especially, if you want to avoid traffic jams, then express boat on Khlong Saen Saep or Chao Phraya River are the choices

that foreign tourists consider as interesting transportations that they want to use. A change in 2016 that will stimulate Thai people is that Thailand is joining the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) together with the other nine ASEAN countries with agreements on professional qualities and standards in order to freely transfer professions, experienced workers or talent persons between the ASEAN countries and develop the countries. By constructing roads that will link the countries together, Thailand will gain advantages in terms of tourism because it situates at the center of this region. However, it is not incidental for Thailand that “Bangkok”, the capital city of Thailand, has been honored as the best scenery city for four consecutive years as guaranteed by tourists and the readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine, an American major media company. The reason may be Thai people’s good manners and smiles for foreign tourists as they are family members. These characteristics of

Yaowaraj When we say about street food, “Yaowaraj” is considered to be a top centre for this kind of food in Thailand. So, Yaowaraj Road is a 1-km road in Bangkok. Until present, Thailand has been a Buddhist country for over thousand years as Buddhism is Thailand’s state religion. Still, the country has maintained principles and beliefs in Gods such as Gods in Brahmanism. From the past to the present, beliefs or worships to Gods have embedded in Thai society (Hindu-Buddhism) over eras. The beliefs or the worships are said to have origins from India. One undeniable thing is that it is normal that any beliefs are reinterpreted or changed the details when they spread into other areas; worshipping principle for Indra (Hindu God) to Defenders in Buddhism. ประเทศไทยนั้นเป็นประเทศที่มีการนับถือพุทธศาสนามาอย่าง ยาวนานนับพันปีจนถึงปัจจุบัน โดยมีพุทธศาสนาเป็นศาสนาประจ�ำชาติ แต่ก็ยังคงมีคติหรือความเชื่อในเทพต่าง ๆ อาทิเช่น เทพในศาสนา พราหมณ์ อยู่ควบคู่กันไปเสมอ นับตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ความเชื่อหรือ การเคารพบูชาต่อองค์เทพที่ฝังแน่นอยู่ในสังคมไทยนั้น เป็นแบบฮินดู-พุทธ มาตลอดทุกสมัยคงจะมีรากฐานต้นก�ำเนิดนี้มาจากในประเทศอินเดีย แต่สิ่งที่ไม่อาจปฏิเสธได้คือ เมื่อความเชื่อแพร่กระจายไปยังพื้นที่ต่างๆ ก็เป็นธรรมดาที่จะต้องถูกตีความใหม่หรือเปลี่ยนแปลงรายละเอียด บางอย่างไปบ้างไม่มากก็น้อย เช่น คติการนับถือพระอินทร์จากเทพ ในศาสนาฮินดู มาสู่เทพผู้พิทักษ์ในพุทธศาสนา

The aforementioned Indras in both Hindu and Buddhism are simper as they are defensive Gods on heavens who protect the heavens and fight with devils. Indra in Buddhism is in the defensive position in Buddhism, take care of the heave, do moral actions and create goodness. The important duty is to take care and protect the Buddha. Indra always appears in many episodes of biography of Lord Buddha. So, his characteristics show that Indra can be a typical model to be respected by the Buddhists. Obvious evidences on Indra principles have been clearly seen since Ayudhaya period. The tradition of the Kings’ names with the word “Somdet Phra Boromaracha Thirat” is a royal title or an abbreviation in Ayudhaya period. In late Ayudhaya period, the evidences of Indra belief were found in King Prasartthong reign. The King ordered to build Jakkrawaddra Pichayont Royal Palace along the wall of the royal palace. The name of this throne hall was given according to Paichayon Royal Palace of Indra. The Indra beliefs have become more outstanding and obvious in Rattanakosin Period. Since the reign of King Rama I, there were artistic and architectural evidences presenting that King Rama I was like Indra. The obvious event was shown in his royal wedding in 2328 B.E. The wedding was held in the newly built Amarintharapisek Royal Palace. The ceremony in the throne hall might provide the meaning that the King appointed himself to be Indra. Also, the throne was presented by signs or patterns on Phra Viman Pediment to imply the throne of Indra (Photo 1). The patterns were craved in Indra living in Viman or Palace. The coronation was in 2328 B.E. The King gave the name of the city of Rattanakosin as Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit. The phrase Rattanakosin and Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit reflect that this city intends and focuses on the importance of Indra or it can be said that Bangkok city is the city of Indra. The Indra beliefs or the city comparison to the city of Indra have been inherited and become more o bvious throughout time. In the reign of

King Rama III, symbolic and architectural patterns such as the order to build Maha Sutthawas Temple (Begin in the reign of King Rama I) of which is located at the centre of the capital as he wished to see it as a complete temple. He offered the new name for the temple to be Suthat Thepwararam Temple as the meaning is the city of Indra. The study of Bangkok as the city of Indra finds in the belief in Indra for naming important places such as the palace or the throne of Indra, symbolic cravings for the pediments or beliefs and concepts for architecture. These can be seen as the concepts in Early Rattanakosin. However, at present, the concept of Bangkok as the city of Indra has been prolonged and never faded. So, many symbols relating or meaning to Indra were created. These include naming or architectural works in Bangkok according to the belief of Indra. So, we can see the names and the things related to this God in Bangkok or in our daily lives. For examples, Indra God on Erawan Elephant is the symbol of Bangkok, Chitralada Villa Royal Residence is one of the six parks on the Tavatimsa Heaven – the full name is Chitraladawan which means heaven full of the beauty of vines, Erawan Hotel – Erawan is the Elephant of Indra, Suthat Thepwararam Temple comes from the name of Suthat Mahanakorn, Vajiravudh College (School) comes from the word Vajra, Vajara as it comes from the weapon of Indra which means thunderbolt. Overall, Indra or God Indra for Thai people is a God who performs good acts, has morals and protects the Buddha and Buddhism. His characteristics in the doctrine as stated to be the God of angels and warrior commanders of the heaven and has wonderful palace. So, God Indra becomes an ideal God for Buddhists. The beliefs in mythological Gods still present in monarchy system rooted from India and the beliefs are spread towards regions in Thailand. So, Indra is one of the mythological Gods of the Kings in Rattanakosin. When the Kings are compared to Indra, the city of Rattanakosin – Bangkok is then compared to the city of Indra.

พระอินทร์ที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นทั้งในคติทางศาสนา พราหมณ์และพุทธ เทพองค์นี้มีสิ่งที่คล้ายกันคือ เป็นเทพที่อยู่ในสถานะผู้ปกครองบนสวรรค์มีหน้าที่ คอยปกป้องและท�ำการสู้รบกับเหล่าอสูร โดยเฉพาะ คติพระอินทร์ในทางพุทธศาสนา พระองค์อยู่ในสถานะ ผู้ปกป้องและพิทักษ์พระพุทธศาสนา ดูแลสรวงสวรรค์ และกระท�ำตนอยู่ในศีลธรรม สร้างแต่คุณงามความดี และหน้าที่ส�ำคัญคือ คอยดูแลและปกป้องพระพุทธเจ้า เราจะพบได้เสมอในพุทธประวัติในตอนต่าง ๆ โดยที่ กล่าวมานี้พอจะเป็นเหตุผลให้พระอินทร์ยังคงเป็นแบบ อย่าง และเป็นที่เคารพนับถือของชาวพุทธตลอดมา หลักฐานที่ชัดเจนในเรื่องคติการนับถือพระอินทร์ปรากฏ ชัดเจนในประเทศไทยนับตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยา โดยจะ ปรากฏประเพณีการใช้พระนามของกษัตริย์ที่มีค�ำว่า สมเด็จพระบรมราชาธิราช เป็นพระนามาภิไธย หรือ พระประนามย่อ หรือในสมัยอยุธยาตอนปลายปรากฏ คติความเชื่อเรื่องพระอินทร์ โดยพบหลักฐานในสมัย พระเจ้าปราสาททอง พระองค์ทรงโปรดให้สร้างพระที่นั่ง จักรวรรดิไพชยนต์ มหาปราสาทบริเวณริมก�ำแพง พระราชวังหลวง ซึ่งชื่อของพระที่นั่งองค์นี้ตั้งใจตั้งขึ้น โดยให้สอดคล้องกับ ไพชยนต์มหาปราสาทของพระอินทร์ โดยตรง

โดยคติการนับถือพระอินทร์นั้นโดดเด่นและชัดเจน มากขึ้นในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตั้งแต่ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 1 มี หลักฐานเป็นงานทางศิลปะและสถาปัตยกรรมหลาย ชิ้นที่แสดงให้เห็นว่า รัชกาลที่ 1 ทรงเปรียบพระองค์ เองเป็นดั่งพระอินทร์ สิ่งที่ชัดเจนคือการประกอบ พิธีบรมราชาภิเษกในปี พ.ศ.2328 ทรงประกอบ พิธีนี้ภายในพระที่นั่งอมรินทราภิเษกมหาปราสาท ที่ พึ่งสร้างเสร็จ พีธีดังกล่าวเมื่อประกอบภายในพระที่นั่ง ที่มีชื่อแสดงความหมายตรงตัวเช่นนี้ อาจจะหมายความ ว่าทรงอภิเษกพระองค์เองขึ้นเป็นพระอินทร์ อีกทั้งที่ ประทับก็แสดงให้เป็นเหมือนที่ประทับของพระอินทร์ อีกด้วย คือการแสดงสัญลักษณ์ที่สื่อหรือแสดงเป็นนัย คือลวดลายบนหมู่หน้าบันพระวิมาร ล้วนแต่สลักให้ เป็นรูปพระอินทร์ประทับอยู่ในวิมารหรือปราสาท โดย ในราชาภิเษกใน พ.ศ. 2328 ครั้งนี้พระองค์ทรงตั้ง ชื่อเมืองหลวงของกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ว่า กรุงเทพมหานคร บวรรัตนโกสินทร มหินทราอยุธยา มหาดิลก ภพนพ รั ต นราชานี บุ รี ร มย์ อุ ด มราชนิ เ วศน์ ม หาสถาน อมรพิมาร เอาวตารสฐิตย์ สักะทัตติยวิศนุกรรม ประสิทธิ โดยค�ำว่า รัตนโกสินทร และ สักะทัตติย วิศนุกรรมประสิทธิ นั้นสะท้อนให้เห็นว่าราชธานีนี้ตั้งใจ และเน้นความส�ำคัญแก่พระอินทร์โดยตรง หรืออาจจะ กล่าวได้ว่าราชธานีกรุงเทพฯ นี้เป็นเมืองของพระอินทร์ โดยคติที่เกี่ยวกับเรื่องพระอินทร์ หรือเปรียบราชธานี

ต่าง ๆ ที่ยังคงเกี่ยวข้องกับเทพองค์นี้อยู่ในพื้นที่ใน กรุงเทพฯ หรือในชีวิตประจ�ำวันอยู่เสมอ เช่น รูป พระอินทร์ทรงช้างเอราวัณ เป็นตราสัญลักษณ์ของ กรุงเทพฯ, พระราชวังสวนจิตรลดา เป็นชื่อของอุทยาน หนึ่งใน 6 แห่งบนสวรรค์ชั้นดาวดึงส์ โดยมีชื่อเต็มว่า จิตรลดาวัน แปลว่า สวรรค์ที่งดงามไปด้วยไม้เถา โรงแรมเอราวัณ เอราวัณ คือ ช้าง เป็นชื่อพาหนะ

อาจจะกล่าวได้ว่าราชธานีกรุงเทพฯ นี้เป็นเมืองของ พระอินทร์ โดยคติที่เกี่ยวกับเรื่องพระอินทร์ หรือ เปรียบราชธานีกรุงเทพฯ เป็นเมืองของพระอินทร์ กรุงเทพฯ เป็นเมืองของพระอินทร์นั้นยังคงสืบต่อมา และยังคงชัดเจนมากยิ่งขึ้น ในช่วงสมัยรัชกาลที่ 3 โดย รูปแบบงานสถาปัตยกรรมและในเชิงสัญลักษณ์ เช่น โปรดเกล้าฯให้ด�ำเนินการก่อสร้างวัดมหาสุทธาวาส (งานเริ่มสร้างตั้งแต่สมัย ร.1) ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในต�ำแหน่ง ศูนย์กลางของพระนครให้เป็นวัดที่สมบูรณ์ โดยพระราชทาน นามวัดใหม่จากเดิมชื่อวัดมหาสุทธาวาส เปลี่ยนมาเป็น วัดสุทัศนเทพวราราม อันมีความหมายว่าเมืองของ พระอินทร์ นอกจากนั้นมีคติในการตั้งชื่อสถานที่ส�ำคัญต่าง ๆ สังเกตได้ว่ามีความสอดคล้องและเกี่ยวกับพระอินทร์ ทั้งสิ้น เช่น ปราสาทหรือที่ประทับของพระอินทร์ หรือ ชื่อเมือง ภาพสลักที่เป็นรูปสัญลักษณ์บนหน้าบัน หรือ คติและแนวความคิดในการสร้างสถาปัตยกรรม ดังที่ กล่าวมาเป็นแนวความคิดต่าง ๆ ของสมัยต้นกรุง รัตนโกสินทร์ทั้งสิ้นและในสมัยปัจจุบันความคิดเรื่อง กรุงเทพฯ คือเมืองของพระอินทร์ก็ยังคงสืบทอดมาไม่ ได้จางหรือเสื่อมคลายความคิดนี้เลยแม้แต่น้อย จึงมีการสร้างรูปสัญลักษณ์ต่าง ๆ ที่มีนัยหรือความ หมายถึงพระอินทร์ เช่นการตั้งชื่อ หรือการสร้างงาน ศิลปกรรมงานสถาปัตยกรรม ในกรุงเทพฯ ให้สอดคล้อง กับความเชื่อเรื่องพระอินทร์ ดังเราจะพบ ชื่อหรือสิ่ง วชิราวุธวิทยาลัย (โรงเรียน) มาจากค�ำว่า วัชร,วัชระ เป็นชือ่ ของอาวุธของพระอินทร์ หรือแปลว่าสายฟ้า

I do believe that everyone is bored of these situations because I think so. ก่อนอื่นต้องถามก่อนเลยว่าคุณเบื่อหรือเปล่ากับสภาพการ จราจรที่แออัด ภาพรถติดยาวบนถนนที่เราเห็นกันอยู่อย่าง ชินตา ในอากาศก็มีแต่ฝุ่นผงและมลภาวะที่คละคลุ้งอยู่เต็มบริเวณ ผมเชือ ่ เหลือเกินครับว่า ทุกคนเบือ ่ เพราะส่วนตัวผมเองก็เบือ ่ เช่นกัน

Everyone knows pros and cons of as well as solutions for these problems. However, there has been no government that can solve the problems and never mentions about the problems after mealtimes. It is doubtful that why the problems still exist? Although the Same Way Let’s Go Together Campaign and other campaigns have promoted reducing car uses and using Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA)’s affiliated buses, the campaigns seem to be ineffective in long term. We have not done many things. We are also facing a new problem of a great number of vehicles that are the results of the first car project and congesting roads. Although we recognize the cause of the problems, why we cannot solve them? Why we do not reduce the number of vehicles? Why we cannot solve the traffic congestion? So, “bicycle” is an answer for these questions or solution for the problems. We see that the number of bikers is increasing, but do you know that what is the type of bicycles being ridden? When they came into Thailand? Why they are popular for teenagers? For me, I consider this type of bicycle as an innovation that can get rid of Thai people’s laziness. This type of bicycles is called as fixed-gear or fixie. It is a slang that means bicycles with single gear and fixed rear wheels. In other words, the bikers who ride these bicycles have to cycle at the same rotation speed of the wheels. Originally, fixed-gear bicycles were used for delivering letters or known as messenger bikes in other countries because the sizes of motorcycles in those countries were big and inappropriate for riding on streets or congested roads. Thus, bicycles are faster than the motorcycles and can be carried on electric trains because of their small sizes, thin shapes and light weights. The prices of bikes were very high. Bike messengers wanted low-priced bikes for delivering letters. They found and then bought abandoned track bikes. They have modified the bike according to bikers’ wants. Eventually, the bikes are popular not only among the bike messengers, but also teenagers and other people. That is, the track bikes have been modified into the fixed-gear bikes in order to improve the safety and make the bikes support the uses on real roads. Fixed-gear bicycles can be categorized into two types: finished fixed-gear bicycles with the price range from 13,000 to 35,000 baht

and unfinished ones that buyers can choose parts including frames as they are tailoring their clothes. The price range of the latter ones is from 10,000 to about 100,000 baht. It is enjoyable to select parts and assembly a fixed-gear bicycle. Nonetheless, this type of bicycles has no brakes. For people who want to enjoy riding fixed-gear bicycles, they have to train how to stop their bicycles safely. Moreover, they should wear protection equipments and ride consciously because riding on roads has high possibility of accidents. Fixed-gear bicycles are being popular in various countries across the globe. With this trend, a movie about the bicycles was produced. The title of the movie is Premium Rush. It was in cinemas in 2012. The movie stars Joseph Goron-Levitt. The story of the movie is about Wilee, a messenger of a company in New York City who rides his beloved bicycle to delivery envelopes. His life used to be peaceful until… he had to risk his life to deliver an envelope to a recipient within 90

minutes. However, a police officer wanted to take the mentioned envelope, but he refused and decided to ride his bicycle away from the officer in order to deliver the envelope on time. Nonetheless, riding bicycles is risky because of various factors. Although riding the bicycles can save energies, many countries consider that it is not safe and then legislate laws. For example, in England and Germany, a bicycle must have both front and rear brakes. In Australia, a bicycle must have at least one functional brake. In France, a bicycle must has both brakes, a headlight and reflectors on the front and rear sides of the bicycle. In Thailand, there are many relevant movements such as the Bicycle Lane at Suvarnabhumi Airport Project and Bangkok Bicycle Campaign. Finally, no matter how different our ways of lives are or how convenient technologies are, we still want green cities with clean air as well as good health. “Bicycle” is a wonderful thing that can make our world become a pleasure one.

ทุกคนต่างก็รู้ข้อดี-ข้อเสีย และวิธีการแก้ไขปัญหา นี้กันเป็นอย่างดี ไม่ว่ารัฐบาลชุดไหนจะเข้ามาแก้ปัญหา ก็ต่างแก้ปัญหานี้กันไม่ตก ต่างกล่าวถึงปัญหานี้แทบ ทุกเวลาหลังอาหาร แต่น่าแปลกใจที่เรายังท�ำไม่ได้ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นลดการใช้รถยนต์ ให้หันไปใช้รถร่วม ขสมก. หรือ การใช้แคมเปญ ทางเดียวกันไปด้วยกัน ซึ่งเหมือน จะได้ผลแต่ก็ไร้ซึ่งผลในระยะยาว เรายังไม่ได้ท�ำอะไรไปมากนัก มิหน�ำซ�้ำเรายังท�ำให้ ปัญหาทับถมทวีคูณขึ้นอีกโดยออกรถใหม่ทุกวัน ให้มา จอดติดแน่นอยู่บนท้องถนน เมื่อเรารู้ว่าปัญหาอยู่ที่จุด ไหน ท�ำไมเราไม่แก้ให้ตรงจุด ท�ำไมเราไม่ท�ำให้รถลด ลง ท�ำไมเราไม่ท�ำให้รถหายติด “จักรยาน” จึงเป็นอีก สิ่งหนึ่งที่ตอบโจทย์ และสามารถแก้ปัญหาเหล่านี้ได้ ในปัจจุบันเราต่างเห็นคนปั่นจักรยานตามท้องถนน มากขึ้น แต่คุณทราบหรือไม่ครับว่า เจ้าจักรยานประเภท นี้มันถูกเรียกว่าอะไร และมันเข้ามาในประเทศไทย ตั้งแต่ตอนไหน เพราะเหตุใดท�ำไมถึงเป็นที่นิยมของ กลุ่มวัยรุ่น ซึ่งส�ำหรับผมแล้ว ผมถือว่ามันเป็นนวัตกรรม อย่างหนึ่งเลยนะครับ ที่เข้ามาแก้ปัญหาความขี้เกียจ ของคนไทย เจ้าจักรยานประเภทนี้มีชื่อเรียกว่า Fixed Gear หรือ Fixie เป็นค�ำสแลงของจักรยานที่มีเกียร์เดียว และ ล้อหลังไม่สามารถฟรีได้ คือ เท้าต้องปั่นตามไปด้วยทุก ครั้งที่รถวิ่งอยู่ เดิมทีเจ้ารถ Fixed Gear ในต่างประเทศ นั้น มีหน้าที่เป็นรถจักรยานใช้ส่งเอกสาร หรือที่รู้จัก กันในชื่อของ Messenger Bike เนื่องจากรถมอเตอร์ไซค์ ในต่างประเทศล้วนมีขนาดใหญ่ ไม่ค่อยเหมาะกับการ ใช้งานออกตระเวนไปตามตรอกซอกซอย หรือบนถนน ที่มีการจราจรติดขัด รถจักรยานจึงสะดวกรวดเร็วกว่า และยังสามารถพกพาขึ้นรถไฟฟ้าได้ง่าย เพราะมันเล็ก ผอมเพรียวกะทัดรัด มีน�้ำหนักเบา เลยคล่องตัวกว่า มอเตอร์ไซค์เป็นอย่างมาก เพราะในช่วงขณะนั้นจักรยาน

ทีใ่ ช้ในการขนส่งมีราคาแพงมาก พวก Bike messenger เลยคิดว่าจะหาจักรยานที่ราคาถูกมาใช้ในการส่งเอกสาร จนไปเจอรถลู่หรือ Track Bike ที่ไม่ใช้แล้ว ก็เลยซื้อ มาใช้ส่งเอกสาร แล้วน�ำมาปรับเปลี่ยนให้เข้ากับ Life Style ของแต่ละคน จนกลายเป็นที่นิยมกันมากขึ้น เรื่อย ๆ ไม่ใช่เฉพาะแค่ในหมู่ Bike messenger เท่านั้น วัยรุ่นหรือบุคคลทั่วไปก็ยังน�ำไปใช้ปั่นกันมากขึ้นด้วย จากอดีตที่เคยเอารถลู่หรือ Track Bike มาใช้งานบน ถนนก็ปรับเปลี่ยนเป็น Fixed gear อย่างเช่นที่เห็นกัน ในปัจจุบัน เพื่อให้เกิดความปลอดภัยและให้ตัวรถ สอดคล้องกับการใช้งานบนถนน มากขึ้นด้วย Fixed Gear แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ Fixed Gear แบบส�ำเร็จรูป มีหลายราคาตั้งแต่ 13,000 บาท ถึง 35,000 บาท และอีกประเภทหนึ่งคือ Fixed Gear แบบต่อหรือประกอบเอง แบบนี้สามารถเลือกอุปกรณ์ ได้ทุกชิ้นตั้งแต่เฟรมลงไป เหมือนการสั่งตัดเสื้อผ้ากัน เลยทีเดียว ซึ่งราคาท�ำเอง ต่อเองก็มีตั้งแต่ประมาณ 10,000 บาท ไปจนถึงประมาณแสนกว่า ๆ ซึ่งการท�ำ เอง ต่อเอง จะได้ความรู้สึกสนุกกับการเลือกอุปกรณ์ ต่าง ๆ ที่มีอยู่มากมายได้ตามต้องการ และที่ส�ำคัญเรา ได้ประกอบเอง แต่อย่างไรก็ดี จักรยานประเภทนี้นั้น มันไม่มีเบรค แต่ส�ำหรับคนที่อยากจะสนุกกับการปั่น จักรยานประเภทนี้นั้น สิ่งแรกที่ต้องท�ำ คือ การฝึกการ หยุดอย่างปลอดภัยให้ได้เสียก่อน เพื่อความปลอดภัย ขึ้นไปอีกก็ควรที่จะเลือกสวมใส่อุปกรณ์ป้องกัน และ มีสติ ขับขี่อย่างไม่ประมาท เพราะโอกาสที่จะเกิด อันตรายนั้นจัดว่าสูง ในการปั่นบนท้องถนนปัจจุบัน จักรยานฟิกเกียร์ ก�ำลังเป็นที่นิยมไปทั่วโลก และแพร่ หลายไปในหลายประเทศ และจากความนิยมนี้เองก็ได้ มีภาพยนตร์ ที่เกี่ยวกับจักรยานออกมา ตามกระแส สังคม มีชื่อเรื่องว่า Premium Rush เข้าฉายในปี 2012 น�ำแสดงโดย Joseph Goron-Levitt เป็นเรื่องราวของ
