SUMMER 2018
Guest books are meant to capture the names and well-wishes of the lovely humans that attended your wedding festivities. The traditional bound book however can become forgotten overtime – stuffed into a dark drawer or cardboard box. We have come up with some creative and personalized alternatives that couples will actually want to put on display after the wedding day! MUSIC BUFFS – Have your guests sign Vinyl Records… maybe it’s your first dance on vinyl or just artists that the two of you really dig ADVENTURERS – Sign a Globe! You can find globes online or you can paint one to fit in with the color scheme of your wedding or home décor
It’s always nice to consider your guests comfort when planning your wedding. There are plenty of ways to make sure your guests are comfortable no matter the season! For a Winter Wedding, if any portion of your event is outsideconsider blankets or pashminas for your guests. Fans are always a bonus for Summer Weddings, or months that are just plain hot. We have seen many couples make programs for outside ceremonies that double as fans, too. If your guests a dancing crowd, have flip flops or Rescue Flats available so their feet do not swell from dress shoes and they can continue to dance the night away with you.
GAMERS – Have guests sign individual pieces from a Jenga set and reminisce every time you have game night OCEAN LOVERS – Signing Surfboards are a fun way to incorporate your love for the ocean and will become a rad piece of art to hang in your home
We are obsessing over the moody floral trends right now. Weddings do not have to be bright white or pastels – dark and moody florals can modernize your wedding while still keeping a whimsical, romantic element that most couples strive to achieve.
We were introduced to Everthine Designs through one of our favorite coordinators, Lindsay Dean Events! Cheryl is extremely talented and just an all around rad lady...Krissi decided to use her services for her own wedding back in March! Learn more about Cheryl’s background below: “I started my journey with calligraphy while I was planning my own wedding (2014), and I fell in love. I am a self- taught designer/ calligrapher, and each piece I make is a labor of love. I went to school for Health Science at Cal State San Marcos, and ended up with a career where I can be creative everyday. I love working on different materials - agate slices, acrylic, vellum, etc. You name it, I’ll try to write on it! I can make just about anything you have in mind: decorations for weddings, birthdays, dinner parties, nurseries, home decor, the list goes on and on. Fun facts: my Husband and I met in High School, I’m having \another little girl in December, my favorite ice cream is Cookies ’n Cream, and Target is my happy place.” -Cheryl Dolfo Head over to www.everthinedesigns.com for more information!
We first met Wes back in 2016 when his company decided to host a holiday party with us! He and Elie ended up coming to our Wedding Show Weekend event a few months later and ended up booking their wedding with us that same day. It was so fun helping them along this journey and we are excited to share their story with you!
THE PROPOSAL: Wes had planned a trip to Las Vegas and found a magician who specializes in proposals. After watching the fountains at the Bellagio, the magician approached Wes and Elie as if he were doing a television show about magic and asked if they would participate. The magic trick led to the proposal (written on Ace of hearts playing card) and the “magical” appearance of the ring. At first, Elie didn't realize that the proposal was real - he thought it was part of the "television show" and tried to give the ring back at the end!
THE DETAILS: The wedding details for Wes and Elie was all about Pride! They did not focus on one color, but all of the colors of the rainbow from the Pride flags the guests waived at the ceremony to the flowers on the cake! One of our favorite touches was that all of their guest tables were named an themed around icons of the gay community—Cher, Madonna, Judy Garland, Bette Midler, you name them—they had them! The tables were not only named after these icons but had objects related to them as well like CD’s, magazine covers, etc. It was such a fun and creative way to incorporate their personalities.
FAVORITE PART OF THE DAY: "It's hard to pick just one. But, overall, it was the ceremony. My best friend from childhood was the officiant and did an incredible job. He made the event touching and meaningful.” - Wes Daniel Thank you to Wes and Elie for sharing your big day with us here at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club!

“Scottish brides-to-be are taken by surprise by their friends ahead of the big day, and pelted with all sorts of rubbish such as curdled milk, dead fish, spoiled food, tar and feathers. She is then tied to a tree and after taken for a night of drinking. The belief is that if she can withstand this kind of treatment, she can handle anything that comes her way in her marriage.” No thanks! - Hello Magazine
