THREE NEW PRODUCTS to HELP Businesses Recruit & Retain Talent!

I am excited to announce the launch of our new Talent Tool Kit which includes a relocation website, video, and our new VIRTUAL interactive relocation magazine LongviewNOW!

Talent attraction and retention continues to be at the top of most conversations when our team asks investors, “what keeps you up at night?”. Companies are looking for cutting edge, first class tools to use when selling Longview.

That is why we are launching our LongviewNOW! tool kit. Currently, there are three (3) pieces in the LongviewNOW! toolkit: website, video, and magazine.

The toolkit is focused on telling our why:

• Why we love living in Longview?

• How can I get connected?

• What is it like living in Longview?

Conversations began after an InterCity trip to Waco to build a site focused on our quality of life to attract and retain talent. That is when M. Robert’s Digital entered the picture. They had already begun working on the Chamber’s new website. The amount of information historically kept on the website made it clunky and difficult to use. By keeping the Chamber’s website focused on our “Why, How, and What” this allowed us to begin working on LongviewNOW! Working with the creative Forbes&Butler, a logo was designed reflecting the energy and freshness we wished to convey. The site officially launched on Friday, August 21st. Before the reveal, several companies from across the community provided critical input on what they believed needed to be included. Another big thank you goes to Conterra Networks! Keith Lloyd and Tracy Vincent approached the Chamber about how to best promote ALL events hosted by area organizations. Again, thanks to M. Roberts Digital, we were able to build on their event calendar.

The event calendar will be an exciting piece to the website! Users can easily enter their information for submission. The best news is the same calendar is used for @PLAY and The Longview-News Journal! Another benefit of working with M. Roberts Digital is the website not only has great content, but it utilizes targeted keywords which drives visitor engagement.

By the end of October, the website will feature a video showcasing our great outdoors and quality of life. The video is being produced by Tye Jackson Pictures. Companies will have access to the video to use as part of their recruitment strategy.

To complement the website and video is a new interactive magazine which will become the virtual front door of the Chamber to attract talent to the Longview area.

LongviewNOW! will be designed

by Encore Multimedia, and they will produce a professional feature piece that will be available on the NEW official relocation website www.nowlongview.com as well as the Chamber website. The magazine/guide will be in an E-book form and published on the ISSUU platform. Two editions will be published annually and marketed utilizing targeted Google Ads, Facebook ads, and programmatic advertising. A terrific feature will be on the landing page of LongviewNOW! Visitors to the site will be able to enter their information and instantly download the magazine or have it emailed to them.

Both issues will have a follow-up feature for individuals seeking to move to the area. Benefits include increased interaction with content, advertisers can include rich content with videos, hyperlinks, and/or QR codes, instantaneous access, portable and convenient, global presence, costefficient, digital analytics to help us better understand user behavior and usage statistics, sustainability, and ease of use! Plus, a great benefit to advertisers is contact information collected will be emailed to advertisers at NO additional charge.

Our democracy, our republic, is based on a social contract creating a political order that benefits the individuals involved: our citizens. But this contract is legitimate only to the extent that they fulfill on their part of the agreement. Part of that agreement is to vote. The popular tendency to express oneself through social media does not change law or leadership; only your vote has that power. is still the official opening class meeting, it will be held locally. This will give our retreat planning team the opportunity to better control the environment in order to comply with Leadership Longview COVID-19 guidelines. In this intense two days of connecting as a team and learning leadership skills, the class will hear from John Grubbs on the Keys of Leadership, and learn to understand their natural leadership style with Dave Jochum. With the retreat being local, the class will be able to interact and learn from some of our area businesses, including Bear Creek Smokehouse. Following the retreat, the class will meet monthly through May with times for both personal and professional development as well as getting to know our community and its leaders. The Total Resource Campaign (TRC) is a volunteer driven effort to create marketing and strategic partnerships with members.

2020-2021 Every Child Has Access Resource Guide Released Online!

Over the past few years, key stakeholders, in partnership with Chamber staff, have been researching best practices to increase student employment success and career-readiness skills. Our business community recognizes the

importance of collaborating with our local school districts as well as state and national elected leadership to improve student-to-career readiness.

We know the long-term economic vitality of our region demands a qualified, skilled workforce.

During discussions with local school superintendents, one of the needs identified was a resource manual which could be used by counselors, parents, and students. The purpose of the guide is to provide area resources that our youth and their families could utilize for solutions. The resource guide, entitled Every Child Has Access (ECHA), has a chart and directory of agencies and organizations families can turn to for help and guidance for needs that range from learning differences to tangible supplies to recreation opportunities. In addition, it identifies keys for success at every phase of a student’s life while in school.

The ECHA Resource Guide, virtual only for the first time, debuted at the Longview Chamber of Commerce’s Partners in Education Virtual Conference on August 10,and is available at no cost to anyone.
