THE Chair of Ecclesfield Parish Council, Cllr Garry Weatherall, was invited to attend Chapeltown Amateur Operatic Society Children's Academy Christmas show at The Venue in Stocksbridge recently.

Cllr Weatherall said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be invited to this event. The children put on a cracking show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would like to give a big thank you to Julia, Tony, Sophie and Rita and all the Children who were involved in the show.

I would also like to wish Chapeltown Amateur Operatic Society a very merry Christmas and happy New Year from all at Ecclesfield Parish Council.”

Members and staff of Ecclesfield Parish Council would like to wish all residents of the parish a merry Christmas and happy New Year.

Ecclesfield Parish Council would like to offer their thanks to anyone that kindly donated a gift to the Hallam FM Mission Christmas.

Clerk to the Council, Tara Ball, said

This is the first year the Parish have acted as a collection point for this fantastic cause and it has been a great success."

Hallam FM are aiming to deliver to over 25,000 children across South Yorkshire your donated gifts and due to your generosity, a child that could have been at risk of not receiving a gift will now wake up to one on Christmas Day.”

All donations have now been dropped off at Hallam FM, but if any further gifts are handed in then they will be dropped off in the New Year and passed onto children’s homes or kept in storage for next year.

Council offices will be closed from Monday December 24 until Tuesday January 2.
