J

oanne Cooper owner of Joanne Cooper Photography has had photography on her mind since being given her first camera at the age of 17. She understands the plight of your images, mostly they stay on your computer. You will share them with family and friends via Facebook and the like, but on your computer they stay. Which is such a shame. When Joanne captures an image for you she will ensure you display it proudly as a mounted and framed print, or as a gorgeous canvas. However, the very best thing you could do is combine it with all your family shots and create a photobook. Joanne can teach you how to do this or complete it for you. Joanne has had a camera stuck to her face since she was 17 and after two decades in local government and marketing she decided to follow her passion and made photography her business. Joanne began photographing children when her sister began walking. “She was my favourite subject and taught me how important trust is in photography. However now she is in her 30’s I have to say she hates it when I pick up the camera. I can’t say I blame her it’s been a long time. Now I concentrate on portraits ranging from corporate head shots, pet portraits, family shots, and my favourite - children.”

Joanne has found that the best place to capture all these portraits is in the place where those people are most happy and comfortable, that usually is not a studio. For your child that means at home, in your garden or in the park playing or feeding the ducks. The choice would be yours. Joanne looks forward to working with you capturing your beautiful child doing the thing it does best - having fun. www.joannecooper.biz 07778 455681 P.S. Enjoy Joanne’s photograhic fun on the front cover of Lots for Tots!

Lots for You...

New Family Mediation Service Launched “Mediation allows for a wider discussion about issues impacting upon families experiencing a relationship breakdown. This can provide for a more rounded solution particularly where children are involved. Charles Killin, Managing Partner: Fishers Solicitors

F

ishers Solicitors has launched a brand new Family Mediation service aimed at providing a quicker, cheaper and less stressful way of resolving family disputes without the need to go to court. Fishers Solicitors, which has offices in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire and Swadlincote, Derbyshire are one of the first solicitors in the area to provide a Family Mediation service. The service is led by Andrew Robinson, a long standing Resolution accredited family law solicitor and a Resolution qualified Family Mediator. Andrew trained as a family Mediator through Resolution, a well known and widely respected national organisation of family lawyers that promotes a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law disputes. It frequently advises the government on policy issues in the family law arena.

14

A Mediator is an independent third party who helps both sides to come to an agreement. The mediator is neutral and the aim of mediation is to help you and your former partner or spouse to reach your own amicable solution to your problems. Both parties must agree to the use of Mediation and it is possible to instruct a mediator directly. Mediators however, will not give advice on either sides individual position and therefore will usually recommend that you each obtain legal advice alongside the mediation process. Perhaps the most common way to begin mediation is to instruct your current family solicitor that you wish to try mediation. If you would like further information regarding Family Mediation please visit www.fisherslaw.co.uk/mediation or contact Fishers Mediation team on 01530 566629.

Using everyday objects is a great way for your child or baby to explore the world around them. It‛s also a great recycling activity too.

Reuse small transparent plastic bottles by removing the label and washing. Fill them with interesting items. Do one at a time to create a collection. Try some of the following and add your own ideas too; Dry mixtures Dried foods e.g. pasta, lentils, sugar, rice ...and glitter Wet mixtures Fill 3/4 full with water and add glitter, sequins, sweet wrappers, foil, plastic straw pieces, beads... anything that won't dissolve! You could add oil, glycerine, or a drop of food colouring. Let older children fill their bottles with their own choice. Once filled, put the tops on tight and seal them inside with glue. * When you have a few bottles use them as skittles. * Try shaking and use them when singing rhyming songs. Why not bring a shaker and join in our 2nd Birthday Celebrations!
